UPDATE: The Customer Service Manager reached out to me after my first negative review was posted. He emailed to argue with me. This was 10 business days after my first inquiry. He continued to profess that my deliberately incomplete recipe was the problem (no, I will not share company IP with you...), and essentially threw his hands up when he said, "We have thousands of gummy customers that use these exact ingredients and I have never heard someone say they taste like dirt." Thousands? I'm not sure bc the reviews I read are of gummy developers deciding that working with Nature's Favors as a supplier is a liability. And after accusing me of being the problem--instead of products that come with vague instructions and no customer support--only then did he make a few suggestions, only one of which was actionable but didn't solve the problem. And it was 10 days late. So the update is this: their customer service manager is a below-grade level reader for accuracy, and, in general, very rude. read more

Waited over a month for an order of 4 different flavored drink mixes (cream soda, orange cream soda, fruit punch, and watermelon). I was hoping to find a nice bulk source for low calorie flavorings, but holy cow! AVOID THIS PLACE! The fruit punch smelled great when I opened it, but when I added a half tsp to a glass of water, it just congealed into a snotty mixture. It didn't dissolve at all. Still curious about the taste, I put a tiny dab of the powder on my finger and tried it. HUGE mistake! It felt like I was being chemically burned! Whatever is in this garbage, it isn't fit for consumption by any living thing. Okay, maybe something went terribly wrong with that flavor and I'll request a refund for that. Surly the others aren't that bad??? I tried the watermelon next. At least this stuff actually dissolved in water (yay we have finally managed to pass the lowest bar imaginable for drink mixing). Sadly, the taste of the powder undissolved and dissolved were both awful. A full tsp of this stuff in a small mug and it was still on par with bath water. Gross!! As for the last two cream soda flavors, I'm not even going to bother opening them. I will be requesting a full refund. Wish me luck. read more

Placed my order two weeks ago and it hasn't shipped yet. There is no communication from the company on why it hasn't shipped yet, and after reading the many other complaints against Nature's Flavors, it sounds like a very shady and non-transparent business. It also sounds like their quality is sub-par. I am disputing the charge through my credit card company and have learned my lesson. Each response repeated the same scripted explanation ("fresh to order" and "high order volume") rather than acknowledging the delay or providing a clear timeline. Delays can happen, especially with small-batch production. That is not the issue. The real problem is the lack of transparency and accountability. There was no clear warning at checkout about extended processing times, no proactive notification of delays, and no meaningful update until after I escalated and left a review. Only then was the order shipped Next Day Air and a refund offered, along with a request that I update my review. That sequence felt reactive rather than genuinely customer-focused. I run a small batch business myself and understand production timelines very well. Making products to order is not an excuse for lack of communication. Clear expectations and timely updates are basic professional standards. If Nature's Flavors simply communicated realistic processing times upfront and updated customers when delays occur, this entire situation could have been avoided. I placed an order for TWO syrups on January 28th and have yet to receive the order, 6 weeks later. After contacting customer service, I was assured my syrups were being made fresh. Had I known they had to grow the pomegranate first, I would have fiund another option. This business is a joke! read more

Purchased an organic flavored powder after researching with my RDN to ensure it's acceptable for my strict dietary needs. When I received and opened the product I was hit with an overwhelmingly disgusting smell that hasn't left my kitchen 1 week later. I used the product according to the instructions on the container, and it was horrendous. When I contacted the company they told me I was supposed to add another ingredient (which my digestive system can't tolerate). Website and product didn't list this information anywhere. I got my $ back for the product, but not the $13 shipping. And there's no way to leave a review anywhere on their website - where are their website reviews coming from? My first on-line order with Nature's Flavors - 4 stars! This company came up in my internet shopping search so I made a test order. I'm very happy with my natural flavor concentrate! They also included a few sample gift packs. The communication was good too, multiple e-mail updates and a tracking number. Much appreciated! I'm very impressed with the huge variety of flavors, syrups, fragrances, and other products. They have nearly every flavor one can imagine. They have some pretty strange and exotic flavors too. Very cool! My only gripe is the slow order fulfillment. Compared to others, fulfillment was slow as molasses on a winter day. My order took 8 days from payment to delivery (today). I ordered flavors from 2 other companies on the exact same day and they were both WAY faster than Nature's Flavors. "Hypothermias" (also located in California) got my order to me in a lightning fast 3 days! And "Enjoy It Again Baking" (located in Pennsylvania) also zipped my order to me in 3 days. The only thing that keeps me with going with 5 stars is the slow shipping. I like their products a lot and I'll definitely order again. Buyer Beware! This company does not take responsibility for their mistakes and will leave you out to dry!!! We purchased a passion fruit concentrate for a new gummy line, went through R+D and shelf life testing, and printed packaging, at a total cost of over $10,000. Then when we tried to start production they sent a drastically different product with the same label. WTF!?! John in customer service was very UNHELPFUL, and tried to prevent us from talking to the quality manager to resolve our issue, he did this every single time we tried to follow up. Eventually we were told that the original material we purchased for R+D was actually a puree, and not a juice concentrate, they had mis-labeled it. So now I am out over $10k on development, shelf testing, and packaging. We kindly asked Nature's Flavors to take responsibility for their mistake and pay back our wasted costs, which still wouldn't account for the lost time. They ignored us. We kindly pleaded that they at least pay just the $1800 to reprint our packaging. They continued to ignore us for 3 more months, until the CFO said that the owner's reply was "his company isn't responsible for costs incurred related to packaging costs incurred by you." Simply put, the owner doesn't care that his company's mistake incurred their customer over $10k in damages. BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WORKING WITH THIS COMPANY!! They have no qualms with costing you thousands of dollars and then not giving you one bit of consideration. This type of reckless and malevolent business practices are disgusting. This lack of responsibility and disregard for your effect on others is at the heart of what is destroying our world. PLEASE DO BETTER!! read more

They promised us the world with the formulations and charged us $12,000.00 to come up with a product, and after collected payment, it was almost impossible to get anything out of them. I ordered their licorice coffee. It was poor quality. Their return policy profited only them ompletely. I had to pay $20 to return & they only credited me for "part" of the order. I'm out $48 & left with a lb of useless coffee. Lesson learned....stick with big companies that treat you fairly & provide good return policies. read more

Awful customer service. UPS lost package. I paid for shipping protection on my order. I filed a claim with UPS and they said to contact the seller. Nature's Flavors ignored my e-mails and gave me the runaround. I asked for a refund and am still getting the run-around. I filed a complaint on bbb and will be filing a complaint with the attorney general. BBB's rating for this company is a D-. They may be an F after my review gets posted. read more

We ordered five bottles of snow cone syrup. All bottles arrived well packed. Right from the beginning though you could smell one of the flavors as if it was leaking. Not really a problem. The problem came when we looked in one of the bottles and there was for lack of a better way to describe it, slime throughout the entire bottle. We contacted them. They told us to bathe it in warm water and it should go away. I understand what they're getting at. Maybe it's crystallized sugar. The problem is I know what that looks like and it wasn't. We bathed it like they said and it didn't go away. I then opened it up. I just a strain out to see what it was. And it looked like something that would come from my kids dirty aquarium. Needless to say, we decided we weren't going to eat that. We contacted them again and they basically said sorry it passed our quality check. You're out of luck. I opened up the other bottles and looked at them as well and two of them were like this. So if you buy from this company, understand that apparently their quality check isn't that great or at least in our case it wasn't and when there's a problem they aren't going to make it right. read more

Misleading description and on the return I have to pay shipping both ways and they take 25% off my return credit. Bad experience.

I recently ordered flavored decaf coffee, chocolate and coconut. I won't be a returning customer. The coffee itself is good, but there is no chocolate or coconut flavor. It tastes like regular coffee. They sent two tiny bottles of chocolate and coconut-flavored liquid. Whatever these are, they are awful. They have a strange, sharp, isopropyl-alcohol like odor, and again, don't remotely taste like chocolate or coconut. In terms of customer service, they don't seem to have invested in an order confirmation or tracking system. Once I placed my order...crickets. After almost a week, I called and spoke to a customer service person. She was helpful in that she found my order, let me know when it would ship, and sent me an invoice. She seemed, however, to try to make me feel like the problem was my fault because I checked out as a guest rather than opening an account. I found that assumption ludicrous, since I check out as a guest at many online shops and almost immediately receive an invoice and tracking number. Considering the cost of the coffee, its lack of flavor, the time it takes to receive an order, the strangely high shipping cost from Orange County to San Diego, it's simply not worth it. read more

If I could give 0 stars for customer service- I would. My husband is very allergic to cinnamon and had an immediate severe reaction. It was not listed in the ingredients but could have shown up in the "Natural Flavors." They would not disclose what was in the natural flavors or if cinnamon was included in that and would not let me return the product for a refund even though it was no fault of our own and they say they will take returns within a two week time period in which we were in. So we are out $30. This was for Natures Flavors Organic Cake Batter Flavor extract. I first called the company and was told to email customer service. I emailed customer service and didnt get a response. I had to email again and that took awhile and was told no refunds are available and they wouldn't answer whether or not they used cinnamon but it sure tasted like they did. read more
