This place is a joke. I've tried 3 times to make an appointment. Apparently there is only one person who could give a Swedish massage. This was a gift of a Groupon. I found a great Groupon deal for an hour long couples massage. ~$85 cost. I was unsure of what to expect from Nature Spa based on other reviews. It's safe to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of my massage. First impression made me question my decision to come here. The low lighting and signs over the windows lead to the belief that the business is closed. Once inside, it's a relaxing atmosphere with gentle background music. There's a large partition separating the "communal massage" area from the lobby. There are several small rooms to the right, used for couples massages. Prior to your massage, the front desk lady provides a form for you to fill out. You provide information regarding level of pressure, areas of focus, medical conditions, etc. The masseuse may or may not follow the instructions. Following the form, the front lady tries to up-sell. The tipping sign may seem in poor taste to some people, but I think it's helpful for people that may not be familiar with tip etiquette following a massage. The couples room was nicely laid out and comfortable. The table, including the face rest, is very warm and comfortable. The masseuse gives very little time to undress and get situated. Once the background sounds, consisting of cell phone ringing/customer service/ringing bell, died out, the massage was amazing! The masseuse really tries to focus on each muscle group. She really had a lot of strength in her hands and wasn't afraid to put some elbow into it. I've really never had such a thorough massage. Massage over sheet, bare skin massage, hot towel.... absolutely perfect. The front desk lady takes away from the relaxing experience by entering the room at the end to attempt another up-sell. She should leave this to the masseuse rather than breaking the mood. I'm used to relaxing following a massage, but felt that I needed to quickly dress and leave. read more

I had a Groupon so I called to schedule, asking for a deep tissue massage. Was given a Swedish, hot stone massage. When I mentioned this at check out the receptionist got defensive and said I should have asked for firmer pressure. So, I'm not a professional, but last I checked a deep tissue massage is not the same thing as a Swedish massage with firm pressure. I tried to mention this, stressing that when I called to schedule I had asked for a deep tissue session, which should have been communicated to the therapist and the recpetionist kept trying to pawn the fault off on me. What's more, the massage I did get felt like the therapist spent a large amount of my appointment time spreading oil on my back - way more oil than was remotely needed for a massage. Now I'm left with a sore, oily back and what little relaxation I did get from the session disappeared with the argumentative receptionist. Needless to say, I won't be returning. The only good thing about all this is that I didn't have to pay full price. read more

Appointment was at 2:00 and they let us in at 2:20. The masseuse was very rough. I pulled away a few times from the pain she was causing me. The massage was short from the 60 mins. Upon leaving, my spouse and I left a $5 tip for each of the masseuse, (honestly I felt that was generous considering the service), and she chased us down before we left and pointed to a sign that asked for a $15 minimum tip for each masseuse. We gave her another $5 and left. If I don't want to tip you more, I shouldn't be forced to. read more

Walking in it presented as a calm and serene environment. They were kind to fit me into their schedule, which was much appreciated. Unfortunately, my massage was painful and uncomfortable. I specifically requested a massage to my back and neck only. I didn't know that meant slapping my head around and scratching my scalp. Today my back hurts and I'm sore all over. I called to book an appointment for my wife and I to get a couples massage. Gave them over 24 hours notice and they said they could not help us because only 1 person working. We have been going here for years and their prices are going up each time and their service is going down. Never again will we be going to NATURE SPA. Plus, they either talk to each other, or take phone calls and put it on speaker.... how are you supposed to relax with all that going on? read more

This was my first massage, so granted I don't have much to compare it to, but my wife has had ones before and we did a couples' massage here. It was great! The place is very clean, very peaceful. The women who gave us the massage were both very strong. They checked in with us multiple times to make sure the pressure and temperature (hot stones and hot towel) were comfortable for us. The staff were very nice and very accommodating! Overall, we will go here again for sure! read more

I brought a Living Social Deal and thought I would check it out. My massage was okay. I selected the 60-minute hot stone massage. The room was clean but cold and they only had a thin sheet for cover. I was expecting the usual blanket or heavy sheet. The massage was more like a Thai massage then a Swedish one. Mostly "pushing" on the skin and not what I expected for a Swedish. There was a lot of hot oil being use. I kind of felt like a turkey being basted. Also she use a paper towel to wipe off the oil after the massage which I never had done before. I am use to the hot towel being use from most Asian massage but never paper towels? She did use one hot towel after the paper towel wipe down. Over all the massage was "okay" not what I expect. Probably would not recommend it even with the Living Social deal. Be prepare to have some language barrier. While I was getting my "relaxing" massage, I kept hearing the other masseuse trying to communicate with her client. Also, the extra $2 charge for using my credit card was a little much. I went here with my wife a few days ago to get a 60 minute couples deep tissue massage. It was great. I felt very relaxed by the end of it. Loosey goosey. There was a slight language barrier. But through the menu they have up front, we were able to indicate what we wanted. That is not really a problem though, because who goes to the masseuse for conversation? I had a massage from Wendy, and it definitely worked out all the stress knots and lumps in my back, as well as giving the rest of my body a full massage treatment. She worked hard for the full 60 minutes. It truly made a difference in how my back felt. The facility was clean and the intro special for their grand opening was a very good deal. Only 2 complaints: * Someone else interrupted her a couple of times, which was disruptive. * I got a bit stopped up nasally, probably from the fragrance in the massage oil since the effect lingered till I showered at home. I am allergic to chemical fragrances. Will ask next time if I have another option for oils used. read more

First off, I had to wait about 10 minutes past my booked time to get into the room. Each room is just partitioned off from the next room so you can hear everything going on in the next room. My massage therapist was a man which I personally don't have a problem with but I know women who would and they never asked me on the phone or when I arrived if I was okay with having a man. The space and equipment seemed cheap - there was a paper towel over the face cushion that didn't go all the way around so my face was pressed into a plastic face cushion. Hopefully it was cleaned before. The room was cold and I only had a thin blanket covering. The massage itself felt rough, many of his movements were abrupt and no coordination. The hot stone massage method was weird - it was pretty much hot stones being rubbed over my back really really fast. Is that usual? I've had hot stone massages before but it was never like that. Overall it was not a pleasant experience. I left just feeling beat up. read more

My first experience here was excellent. I LOVED the therapist and the service. I came back again hoping for the same. I had a different therapist. She was not very thorough but I still was able to relax. I realize not everyone works the same way. What was extremely bothersome to me is that when I was paying I told her to add a tip. It equated to 23%. I thought I was being generous. Apparently not. She stopped, stared at me and gave me a look of disapproval. I looked at her like, "what?" She then told me how much of a tip to give her; $2 dollars more than I had offered. I realize there are cultural differences in what is appropriate behavior. I went ahead and gave her the additional $2, however, I found it very offensive. Especially since I didn't find the massage to be very effective. I would like to go back here because I enjoyed the first therapist's massage so much and her polite, professional service was so lovely. But since I do not know her name, so as to ask for her, I will not go back. I don't want to have this experience again of being told how much to tip on top of an already generous amount. read more

I was really hesitant to come here but I left pleasantly surprised, and a bit confused. The atmosphere is great. Very calming and pleasant. The massage was very well done, better than one I had at massage envy. The woman I had was able to get very deep. I was a bit surprised that they request full nudity though. And when my hour was up (yes I got a full hour and I felt like they used their time well) I felt amazing. Leaving though was very stressful. No one seemed to know what was going on. Only one person spoke English and had to help me and then two of the other girls got into an argument and one slapped the other on the hand. Very awkward and unprofessional. I'll be giving them another chance because their prices are great and massage was great, but I hope they'll learn some professionalism. read more

Does not even deserve one star. Terrible, never ever go here. They did not have me fill out any forms, didn't ask me if I had any injuries, they didn't even know if I was over 18. The female 'massage therapist' exposed me several times throughout the massage which is breaking Washington State law. Her phone kept ringing and she even picked it up and proceeded to talk to someone for atleast 5 minutes. The massage extremely painful at times and I had to tell her several times to stop, as she was pushing her elbow directly into my bone. After I payed, but if I could go back I would have walked out the second I felt uncomfortable. If you ever feel uncomfortable at all or feel you're in a sketchy situation while getting a massage, leave immediately. If they want you to pay threaten to call the police. Just walk out. I suspect this is one of the places that uses human trafficking and prostitution. read more
