Starting with her all natural products (yes, they really ARE all natural, unlike some others who advertise that and are filled with chemicals) the facial is pure bliss every step of the way. Did you know the skin is our largest organ? Quality skin care studios and spas do and should only want the best for your skin. Initially, I saw Melissa in her former location on Holly street but this one suits her better. It's in a shared space with other relaxation practitioners. Grab a cup of hot tea and Melissa is right there waiting for you with a warm smile. She is a very kind and gentle spirit and you can tell she sincerely cares. I did not feel rushed at all. She allows plenty of time in between appointments and will answer all of your questions. She does offer take-home products but does not try to push anything on you. You really do have to experience her facials for yourself to understand the raves. So, ladies and men time to book your facials! She was so kind and welcoming, and I had a lovely facial (first one in many years). She explained what she was doing every step of the way, and also spent time discussing the process/answering my questions at the end, since I definitely fell asleep for part of the session. Love that the products she uses are natural, and several local items too, like the floral water, and the argan oil, which is from her own line of products. I got some good tips on how to continue a skin care routine at home, and brought a few products home with me that I'm excited to use. It was also my first time doing energy work, and it was fun to talk to Melissa about what that was like, and learn more about this. Lastly - she gave me some great ideas for what to do with the rest of my weekend in the area (we had an awesome hike at Stimpson Family Reserve, which we wouldn't have discovered without her recommendation). The procedure included an upper blepharoplasty, platysmaplasty of my neck, and SMAS facelift. In addition, I underwent an CO2 laser treatment. Prior to these procedures. I had a meeting with another plastic surgeon in Del mar, California. His estimate was startling and well beyond what I could afford. I then went to see Dr. Lichtenberger and he explained to me that I didn't need to undergo unnecessary procedures to get what I was looking for. Instead, he felt that I could attain a natural look and that's exactly what he did for me at a reasonable cost. The office staff at Life Aesthetic Center, including Erin, Debbie and Dana, made me feel so much at home and so comfortable while undergoing the initial consultation, the preoperative appointment and finally the procedure and follow-up appointments, putting me at ease with lots of great information. Dr. Lichtenberger is one of the most sincere, patient and truly caring people I have ever met. He is an outstanding listener, and I never felt like I was asking a stupid question. Despite my nervousness prior to the procedures, he said that was normal and on the day of my procedures, he put me at ease the entire time. His surgical staff was also top-notch and I am grateful to them as well. We here in Bellingham are extremely fortunate to have Dr. Lichtenberger in our community. Since then, she has had 4 different locations and I am still loyal to her as ever. I cannot say anything negative about this amazing woman. She is an incredible esthetician with lots of knowledge and skills. I have gotten facials since I was 14 and she is the best esthetician I have had the pleasure of meeting. When I first saw her, I had moderate cystic-like acne and active acne with multiple breakouts per month. Just after few months of treatment (1-2x a month facials), my acne was less severe, scars were less noticeable, and I started breaking out less. Fast forward 2 years, I started getting compliments on my complexion from strangers. Now, I break out only when I eat certain foods (milk chocolate, french fries, pizza) or around my period. So ever since then, I have been on her appointment book once a month for the past 4 years. Wow. That's crazy but I am so thankful that I have found Dagmar! Her prices are very fair as well. She is also known for eyelash extensions, reiki (energy healing - has done a lot of incredible work on me!), and electrolysis. I have had around 50 total hours of electrolysis on those areas; which have been worked on by a handful of electrologists all along Puget Sound. When I saw my other electrologists, I would always leave those appointments with super red, inflamed, sometimes burned, blistered, scabbed over skin. Not to mention, the treatments themselves were painful because insertion of the needle was done incorrectly. My skincare routine following those appointments consisted of Neosporin all over my face, everyday, for upwards of a week until the treated areas healed. Unsightly to say the least. Dagmar is undoubtedly the best. The fact that I feel no pain during treatment and very mild redness afterwards speaks for itself. Her aesthetics background further validates why I feel so comfortable getting treated by her. After 3+ months of treatment, still can't believe how happy my skin is during/after electrolysis at Melange Spa. If you are looking for an electrologist, take my word for it and go see Dagmar.
