I love this place. I come to this grocery store 2 times a week they have all organic food and I have compared with wholefoods and they are almost always $2 lower on the same products. I bought a frozen pizza one day so I went to wholefoods and they had the pizza on sale for $1off at $7.99 and the same one at natural grocers at normal price was $4.95. but when they placed that same pizza on sale the next week it was $3.45 If you are looking for good food at lower prices go to this place. read more

This is our go to grocery store. Natural Grocers doesn't have a bakery, no butcher, no booze- and no GMOs or other crap. They have a really nice beauty and toiletries as well as household goods select so no need to make more than one stop. They are also one of the very few places in town that actually sells duck eggs. You never have to wait in line or fight your way through the produce section. The employees aren't exactly the friendliest but they aren't rude by any means. The free coffee and coupons make up for the people who work their. They also don't offer paper or plastic bags so be ready worth your own, to purchase one or use some of their readily available boxes. Oh and sign up for their {n} power rewards! Points add up quick and in just the last month we've had 3 discounts on our weekly grocery trips. read more

This store is wonderful for people that 1) don't like feeling like they are in everyone's way when they shop 2) want organic and none processed foods 3) are avid BYOB'ers (bring your own bag!) 4) are not doing a full grocery haul (there's no bakery, butcher, seafood counter, etc). Overall though, I quite like this store! The checkers are pretty friendly, there's a myriad of supplements and Eco-friendly body products, the bulk fridge is well-stocked, the store is always very clean and smells wonderful, the location is convenient, and they have all of the staples that I can just run in and pick up if I'm in a rush. read more

I started shopping around for a Natural Grocer when another store like it quit carrying the yogurt I eat. Natural Grocers not only carries it, but they take special orders and call when it arrives. I had also suffered from a severe allergic reaction to something I ate or used on my skin, and had the worst skin reaction my doctor had ever seen. And he has been a doctor for 40 years. I tried so many things on it including the steroid cream and pills ( which made me really ill ) and all of them burned and made it bleed. I had this peeling of my skin for 2 months after the grape seed size blisters broke. It was disgusting, along with itchy and painful. My husband asked a woman there if she had any recommendations, I wish I knew her name, and she suggested some Organic Vit. E cream that was soothing!! Six months later I still have the allergy on my lower legs and use the cream every day after I bathe. It relieves the dryness and burning & it also smells really nice, I mean it has a REALLY NICE scent. I want to thank her, but even though he goes in twice a month he hasn't remembered to get her name for me. So, I will thank her here, along with all of the staff at Natural Grocers for their professionalism, kindness and service above and beyond. The best thing about this place is the milk replacement items they have a large variety. Being lactose intolerant it is nice to find something besides soy milk based products. I really wish that they would have more fruits and veggies. The bulk area I like as well tons of seeds, spices, and nuts to choose from. It can get a little pricey so I wouldn't do all my shopping there just certain things. I still love my Trader Joes! read more

That was the most depressing grocery store I have ever been to. My wife and I thought we would give it a try since we noticed it as we stopped at Starbucks for a cup of coffee. I thought they were closed, the parking lot was empty, on a Saturday morning. Now I know why. Lots of vitamins, crap selection of food. You call that a produce section, ummm...no. We left and went to Whole Foods. I'll be amazed if this store stays open. read more

I'm glad this opened here in Reno as I was in Colorado temporarily and was shopping at their stores, so I was happy this opened. It doesn't have the snob appeal of Whole Foods and has sales more often, so things can be less expensive. I wish their produce section was a bit larger, but everything else is good...I shop there often. It's always clean and the staff is friendly, you bring your own bag ( I bought a couple of their brand grocery bags) or if you forget they have tons of cardboard boxes of various sizes to use. This is a good chain I have been to other Natural Grocers in other states. But they have had a leak in the ceiling for a few months now which was not fixed as of December 2015. They have a bucket on the floor of the aisle catching the leaks every time it rains. Please treat this leak seriously - mold is a real possibility even in a dry climate and can make people very sick if left to fester with an ongoing leak. read more

Visiting Reno & driving around to explore the area before a meeting, stumbled on this WONDERFUL gem of a grocery store. I get very excited when I find a grocery store that carries organic products, reasonably priced on most products & is conscientious about the environment by encouraging shoppers to bring their own bag or use a product box they provided. Win-win for shoppers & the store. Their produce section has sufficient amount of basic inventory for most novice cooks. Priced VERY WELL. Large inventory of homeopathic items. And a good selection of anything else you may need except for meat? I saw good sale price on items that I normally buy. I had limited time, but managed to buy several items from them. Cashier was extremely pleasant & nice. Very quick & efficient since I was late to my appointment. Definitely will visit this store again! BTW, sign up before you go & they will take off $2 for your first purchase. How cool is that? Now, if corporate is reading this message, please open a store in Tampa Florida! read more

went there last sunday and everything on my list was out of stock to include items in their flyer took me a long time to find a employee to ask if these items were in their back room the employee came back with everything on my list great job , but seems to me they need to beef up their staff to get food on the sales floor l give them 1 more try and hope its more convienent otherwise back to trader joes read more

Clean, nice, store. I took one of the classes they offer. It was very well done, included hand outs. My complaint is none of the clerks I encountered knew where products were located and didn't seem to be very knowledgeable about the items in question. I LOVE Natural Grocers! This is one of my favorite places to do my grocery shopping. I maintain a mostly vegan/organic diet and they have just about everything you could need for a plant based diet as well as a large natural body section with items you can only get there. For cost... I would say the prices are in between Trader Joes and Whole Foods. There have been multiple times when I see something I want at Whole Foods so I come here and it's anywhere from $1-$5 cheaper. It is still more expensive than your average grocery store but the quality is top notch brand name vs a store brand. The staff is always very pleasant and friendly. I never feel award around them or like I have to do the fake small talk ordeal. They're more real and extremely nice! I also enjoy that because it is a large store, there aren't always a bunch of people in there. You don't wait in line for a long time which is perfect if you need to pop in and grab something fast! I don't have anything negative to about this store it's fantastic. :) read more

I am very pleased with this store! Their selection is pretty decent, as are their prices. Everyone there is super friendly and eager to answer all of your questions. I feel confident when I shop here because I can trust that everything I'm buying is safe and healthy. If you spend just a few minutes checking out their website, you will see what I mean! Very nice new store, super clean & beautiful produce-...employees were very friendly & helpful..!! BUT its as or more expensive then Whole Foods with less variety and not close to Whole Foods ambiance & ammenities. I had heard it was like a Trader Joes meets Whole Foods so was expecting a lower price point but everything was super pricey . Did buy produce there as it was beautiful! Hope they can find a following with the other 2 stores i mentioned right down the street. This place is awesome! Sustainable foods at a better price. All produce is organic unlike WF and TJs. Great customer service. Amazing vitamin and supplement selection with knowledgeable staff. Hands down the best frozen selection in town. I like that they don't stock every single brand out there for a more simplistic shopping experience that has almost everything you need (who really has everything you need at one place anyhow?). I spend less time and less money here and my cabinets and fridge are well stocked. Their rewards program is great- you do have to check your emails to get discounts on your order the next time you shop. read more

I use to purchase most of my groceries from Whole Foods. Gradually they kept discontinuing items I regularly bought. I am not a fan of Amazon, so when WF changed, I decided to have Natural Grocers as my main grocery store about 4 or 5 months ago. I really like the store, prices are mostly competitive (became an NPower member), but they need some serious customer service training! As a senior with hand arthritis (or just anyone), it would have been nice for the checker today to at least bag my groceries and I always help. The checker just started quickly taking the next person (no one behind them waiting) and their groceries started colliding up next to mine - NOT good customer service. BUT my main complaint is that at least 6+ times over these 4+months, I have been overcharged (hmmm - never undercharged) on 1-3 items (today 2). The checker just said "you have to wait until I am thru with this customer" which she had hastily taken, to get my refund. I asked her to call the manager, Scott, who told me "they are going through changes" for 4+ months! I really like that all produce is organic, but some items are not as fresh and do not last as long, as other places I shop. I also think they could have a better way of pricing produce, as several times I've skipped over things to buy, as there wasn't a price. read more

This is very disturbing due to hackers and identy theft I called coustomer service for assistance and the woman I spoke to was rude and didn't care and forward my call to a John Hostedder and went straight to voice mail. He has yet to reply to my message DON"T sign up!!!! Vitimine Shoppe is safe and you can log out these people could care less about your privacy..And very rude operators. This store is exactly what was needed to fill the gap between Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. Prices are closer to T.J.'s, but Natural Grocers carries a lot more gluten free and dairy free products. I have several allergies, and it is a relief to shop at a store like Natural Grocers that labels everything on the shelf so clearly. There are several gluten-free dairy free products (Yay Bobo Bars!) that I could previously find only online. Now I can buy them locally at a price similar to or less than online ordering. I don't usually buy produce, but I regularly buy breakfast bars, specialty flours, chocolate, dairy-free milk products, and several types of supplements. What would take me an hour of label reading at other stores takes about 15 minutes at Natural Grocers. read more

I have been here two times. The store is ok but has a limited selection. I wanted to get some fresh baked bread but they had only frozen and gluten free type breads. I ran in to get stuff for dinner but was frustrated that they don't have the basics which means I have to now go to another store. I might be wrong but all the competitive stores in this segment have a bakery or carry fresh sourdough bread. As I was walking out the door with my purchases there was another customer walking out that just parked her cart and did not buy anything- I asked her why she didn't buy anything and she said "it didn't make sense to buy groceries there when they didn't have everything she wanted". Both times I was at this store I was asked if I needed help finding anything so the service is good. There was only three other people shopping at the store when I went in today- its easy to get in and out of - very slow business which would be better if they had a more complete selection and offer some at-once lunch items or hot soup etc.... read more
