I called to schedule a general yard cleanup and spoke with Maya. She gave me very straightforward pricing, told me what to expect, and asked all the right questions about my needs. She was so knowledgeble that I kept her on the phone for quite a while, asking her details about various potential projects such as gravel, sod and sprinkler system installation (they do all of these). She gave me an overview of what each of these projects entailed, the general time/maintenance/cost involved, and was super patient answering all my questions thoroughly without ever trying to "sell" me anything. It was so refreshing to have a dedicated, knowledgeable human pick up on my first call and answer all my questions right away; Versus other places where it's usually someone who is either (1) only trained to schedule and sell services without any deeper understanding of the business; or (2) a busy foreman in a rush to their next site with no time for questions. Not their fault, just makes it a little tougher to know what you're getting. Assuming the quality of their work match that of their customer service I will be using them for future projects for sure!

He has stayed in touch throughout our summer of 100+ degree days to ensure that our plants and flowers are staying alive. Like everything else, landscaping is not cheap; but with our current drought conditions, it seemed like the right thing to do. Root Tree Service completely screwed me over. The city informed me that I needed to have my 3 large…read moreSiberian Elms trimmed. I had the option to use the city's contractors, which at the time was Root Tree Service, or I could get quotes and hire any company I wanted. After a little hunting around I decided to go with Root Tree Service because they were cheaper and because they were contracted through the city which allowed me to pay in installments. It all sounds good, right? Wrong. The day they trimmed my trees I was at work. When I got home they had already left and here's the kicker, they only trimmed the half of each tree! They didn't touch anything over my yard or house and only trimmed branches over the street. When I called to ask what was going on they inform me that they were only doing a "Safety Prune". That was the first time anyone ever said anything to me about a safety prune or even used that term at all. Root Tree Service refused to come back and finish the job, they took zero responsibility. Who in their right mind would only trim half a tree?! I have huge dead branches over my home, over my powerline, over my garage and they completely ignored all of it. Now I have to hire a different company to come out, close the street and do it all over again. Quotes form other tree companies were only a little more and they were going to do the trees in their entirety. These guys charged almost as much and only did half the damn trees! Here's a quote directly from their website.... "At Root Tree Service, the customer comes first. We want you to have the best experience when dealing with us from first contact, to completion of the job. Too often, customers are left feeling taken advantage of, cheated and disappointed. We have set out to change that! If you aren't happy, the job isn't complete. But don't take our word for it, check out a few testimonials from our loyal customers" Well guess what guys? I'm really super unhappy, I feel cheated and disappointed, all of it. You didn't make it right and the job is incomplete. The above statement is a lie. Enjoy you negative review. I'll be happy to remove it when you come finish the job.

The work was fine but...they charged an hour travel time to our property and extra again because their crew took an hour and a half lunch because their truck battery was dead and needed a jump. We'd already charged it once while the crew was at our property. Before the crew was done, we noticed that a window on our RV was shattered, apparently due to a rock that was thrown during trimming. Accidents happen and the owner sent an email saying they would pay for the window. The owner apparently changed his mind and wanted the claim to go through his insurance. Ok. Two weeks later we are still waiting for an insurance approval or denial and a late charge was added to the bill for the mowing.

The crews have consistently arrived on time, greeted us warmly, worked quickly and steadily, and each time they have headed out, they left us feeling both relieved that we didn't have to do the work ourselves anymore and pleased that the yard looked better than when we did it.
