Frank did an amazing job on my shoulder tattoo. I highly recommend him. It's best to make an appointment ahead of time.

All I have to say is WOW! This is my cousins first shop that he opened up in Hilo. It is located down the road from McDonalds and right next L&L. Can't miss it if your in Hilo. They have their own parking which has quite a few stalls. Definately love the set up inside and is shop is set up just like what he's known for TRIBAL TATTOOS! Pictures hanging on the walls etc. They have a good selection of talented artists here. Very warm and welcoming local style with a little twist. The shop is very clean and has its own bathroom inside of it. Mirros all around just how I like it. They also have up to date books with their artwork/tattoos in it from their various artists. They also have a piercer, I'm not sure if they have more than one but when I went they only had this one guy doing them. The prices vary with every artists and every piece of artwork that you want to put on your body but if your a hustlah do your thang boo boo. LOL &Even though my cousin did not tattoo me one of his other workers did I think his name was John? My bad I'm bad at names. He did an excellent job on me! He gave me a diamond on the middle of my chest and more than happy with it. I'm more of a on the whim type of chick, I didn't even see any of his work but my cousin reassured me so I was like duh give it to me! haha I love it here and definately will come back for more tattoos and good company when I go back to the Big Island. Not only because I'm related because they do give good service and their tattoos from all of their artists are amazing! 5 STARS! ;) & Drop my name if you like. LMAO they'll probally have a good laugh hahaha Oh ya and before I forget *Number one thing at tatoo places tho. TIP YOUR ARTIST! lol okay, now go get blasted! (^___^) read more

I got a helix piercing here. The piercer said he had two months of experience....not a great start but that's ok everyone has to learn. So then he marks the spot with a ball point pen....mmkay. Again, never seen that before. Usually use a surgical marker. Then the lineup. Piercing didn't hurt more than expected. Fine, I tipped healthy ($10). Two hours later, I look down and my shirt is covered in blood. Weird. But whatever, just trying to be positive. Well this morning I wake up and the damn jewelry is gone. I've had at least 11 piercings in my face and I have NEVER had jewelry just unscrew. Call the shop, they think that maybe me cleaning with q tip and rolling in bed caused the ball to roll loose. WHAT? I'm sorry but this is seriously the most foolish thing I've ever heard. The piercer needs to tighten the hell out of that ball (threaded ball on a post). So then he says he won't refund me. Eh? Ok so what is the solution? He wants to slide another piece of jewelry in. Yeah, nah dude. I've never had an experience like this. I guess I'm just going to have to lose $40 and tip. Do yourself a favor, skip this shop. read more

I was looking to get a tattoo during my recent trip to Hilo. Both my parents were born and raised in Hilo, and it's a very special place to me. When talking to my cousin, he mentioned he was going to get a tattoo at the shop of the guy who had done his other tattoo give years ago. I went in with my cousin, met Brandon and made an appointment the next day to come back and get my tattoo. Their shop is filled with books and ideas for tattoos if you're contemplating your next piece. They're also great with talking about options and what you're envisioning. One of the girls I ran into is from another island and flies out to Hilo a few times a year to get work done with Brandon. Brandon was great! He immediately makes you feel welcome and is very accommodating. I loved that he spent he time to make sure I liked the size a location of the script before he got started. There was absolutely no rushing, he wanted to make sure I was ready for the ink. The shop was very clean and Brandon was thorough with using sterile tools, gloves and lots of disinfectant before getting started. My tattoo was only six letters on my right rob and took him about 5 minutes...I absolutely LOVE it and its exactly what I wanted. It's beautiful with even lines and straight. (Seems a given that my tattoo would be straight, but you'd be surprised of other tattoos I've seen) I'm not quite on the tattoo bandwagon just yet...but if I was to get another tattoo of definitely want to go see Brandon and Native Flesh! read more

My family and I had a tattoo artist that did all of our work. Unfortunately, he doesn't do any work anymore. I had been checking out Native Flesh online for awhile. I liked the work product I saw. Brandon was easy to deal with. We texted the details and after taking a deposit, my session was booked. I found the price of my 12-inch (give or take) tattoo to be very reasonable. When I arrived for my session, Brandon got right to work. He drew the outline of the hammer head shark on my thigh as I requested. That was the only drawing that was done over the next hour and fifteen minutes. Brandon is a true artist. While others use stencils, Brandon filled the tattoo freehand. Completely amazing! From my perspective, the tattoo should have taken at least two hours. Not only was Brandon's artistry on point, he was fast! He was serious but also funny. Very professional and clearly proud of his craft, as he should be. read more

Went in for a walk-in nose piercing. The shop was clean and the piercer was super professional and answered all of my questions. Would 100% go again. UPDATE: I did go again. Just as good as the first time. I recommend this shop to anyone and everyone. read more

I got a nose peircing and the peircer was amazing. It barely hurt and he told me how to take care of it.

Ben foster did a couple tattoos for me they both look terrible and need to be touched up,the last session with Ben was the worst of my life,I will go somewhere else to get them touched up,he was unprofessional more than once he commented that he was waiting for me to leave so he could talk about me.He even tried to tell me what I should get next like it was up to him. read more

I got 2 of my tattoos here from Brandon. He did the tribal on my head and my marlin on my thigh. He's fast but not sloppy. He does great work that would take hours for other artist to do. He will for sure have the pleasure of doing my next tattoo. Go get tatted by them. read more

I was a walk in after checking with another shop that I thought was kinda high priced. Brandon was there because of a cancellation and looked at the design I wanted. Quoted me a price about half of the other shop and said he could do it now. Shop was clean, conversation with Brandon was great. I'll go back soon. read more

Love the customer service and customer care. I never had any piercings done before but one of my friends recommended native flesh. The place is very clean and sterile. I got my cheeks pierced there and let me tell you, it didn't even hurt one bit. My boyfriend saw how I didn't even flinch one bit that he also got his ears pierced. Going back in a couple days to change out the bars free of charge. Highly recommended read more

A tattoo artist at another shop referred me here for piercings. I tried calling to find out their hours since they are nowhere to be found online, but after about a week of calling and no answer, decided to go check it out in person. First of all, they are no longer located on Kinoole street, but are now behind that used bookshop down bayfront. When I finally located them, the guy told us that his piercer moved to Oahu, so they don't do piercings anymore. read more

I took my daughter in to the shop (she's 14) and we were greeted by Kainoa. He made sure he went over the risks of having a tattoo in the location she had wanted. He was very patient and understanding with her. I highly recommend him and this shop! Thank you for the excellent service! read more

My husband and I called about getting tattoo. Brandon told us to come in as a walk in. When we arrived the staff was friendly and made us feel very comfortable. We explained what we wanted and what our budget was. We were set up with Brent and Charlie. Both were amazing. The work is more than we had hoped for. The shop was clean and the atmosphere was what you would expect to see in Hawaii. We will be back to this shop for more work, and would recommed it to anyone getting art, if it is your first time (like my husband's) or an addicted to tattoos person like myself. read more

Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT get pierced here. I would give zero stars to this place if I could. I went in to get my septum pierced and it turned out to be a HUGE MISTAKE. It was so rushed he didn't even take the time to measure it out on my nose. He literally just shoved the clamp in, then pushed the needle in so hard, it almost pierced the other side of my nose. Little did I know, it wasn't even in the right spot! I took it out the next morning because I knew it wasn't right. He also gave me a spiel about the jewelry they use. "Its titanium, and hypoallergenic, blah, blah, blah." Come to find out they buy it from Spencers in the mall! Awful, not to mention dangerous because whatever garbage they're putting in peoples bodies, literally falls apart. I went to Kala at Primal Studio and he was super professional and informational. He gave me a septum piercing I am beyond happy with. Please go here for any of your piercing needs. You'll be saving yourself money and pain. Trust me! read more
