I finally got a job in NYC, so I had to move to Jersey City. Being new to the area, I didn't have any idea of the movers in the Philly area. After doing some checking on yelp and google reviews, I came across Albo moving. Their reviews were really good, and they were close to my parent's house where I was living at the time. I reached out via cell and Alex responded the same day asking for more info. I texted it all to him. The next day he emailed me a quote and laid out all the info. The pricing was very fair, and based on his quick response time and great reviews, I decided to hire them. I am very glad that I did. My move went extremely well. I hired 2 movers and a 20-foot truck. Eugene and Serg were great. They clearly communicated their arrival time and kept me updated via text. There were 2 pick up locations - my storage unit and my parent's house. They had everything from storage wrapped and packed into the truck in 2 hours. Then we went to my parents for a few more things, we were out of there in under an hour. They drove to Jersey City and then had the entire truck unpacked and moved in and all the packing material cleaned up in 3 hours. It was an extremely hot day and the guys worked really hard and very quickly. I could not be more grateful to Alex and his team for the excellent job, and I would definitely hire them again for my next move. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for hard working, honest, reliable and dependable movers

These guys were great. Easy to coordinate with and they did a fantastic job moving on both ends.read more

We have moved multiple times in east cost always use the same mover from NY. This time thought of trying a NJ based mover. Here are the issues 1.Lack of professional behavior. They came inside saw that entryway table had a few bills picked them up asked me which currency it is. 2. One of the kitchen packers opens lid of my spice box (I had leaves and chillies puts his nose in sniffs and asks what is it? 3. Packed every little thing in white wrapper so unpacking was hell. Single stainless steel spoon wrapped in 4 layers of packing . 4. Who does this .packing open can of bleach with groceries. While unpacking I saw white dust thought its paint once I hit end of box it was bleach so ended up throwing everything from that box. Which professional mover does that 5. Random packing. I had very organized closet but they picked random items and packed in diff boxes so i had box with sweaters pillow covers photo frames and belts all from diff parts of closet. LASTLY we were given pricing we paid that by bill and paid $800 extra over that without receipt as they demanded that they packed box. When vector gave me a quote it included 10 medium boxes $20 per box but the guys packed everything with white wrapper in kitten not one but 4 sheets and increased boxes packed to 30 , unethically charging us for small boxes stuffed with white paper. Please note it was a very painful experience and no one deserves this kind of billing or nonsense

This immediately felt odd and unnecessary. He came over late in the evening, which made the situation even more uncomfortable, and he gave off extremely creepy vibes. I do not recommend this company if you are a woman and would be alone with this man in your home. While there, he pushed me toward choosing the cheapest option for him, the one dollar per pound replacement coverage, which barely covers anything if items are damaged. I initially signed a different option, and he told me to cross it out and re sign where he told me to. This was a huge red flag. The next day, we had to sign the same contract again with the actual movers. I still do not understand why Paul needed to come over the night before, especially considering the move had been booked well in advance. It felt unnecessary and unsettling. After evaluating our apartment, Paul selected the truck size himself. He chose one that was too small and then blamed the issue on our street being too narrow, despite previously saying a truck would fit if neighbors moved their cars, which we did. Because of his poor planning, not all of our belongings fit, and we were forced to rent a U Haul on top of everything else. To make matters worse, the movers broke a glass door pane. When I raised the issue, Paul lied and claimed we asked for two hundred dollars off the bill, which is completely false. My only request was to speak with our landlord to coordinate replacement of the broken glass. Overall, this felt like a scheme rather than a professional moving service. Between the unnecessary late night visit, the pressure to sign specific paperwork, the poor planning, and the dishonesty afterward, this experience was stressful and uncomfortable. Buyer beware. P.S. He repeatedly bragged about being on a radio station once and mentioned his dad being a contractor at one point. It was uncomfortable.

I booked a full truckload to be on the safe side. The Hunks who arrived said I'd only be charged for a half truck if that's all I used. What a nice surprise! I did end up using the entire truck, but still. I appreciated their flexibility. They donate meals to hungry families with every job booked, and also donate to organizations who could use furniture. It's not often you find such a conscientious organization. Highly recommend!

For reference, Intense Movers moved me from a 1 bedroom 4th floor walk-up to a 2 bedroom over 100 blocks away. They showed up promptly at 9am and were done by 1pm. I did think it was a bit strange that everything was done via email and there's really no other way of contacting them. That said, they were extremely responsive to email, which was fine. The movers themselves were personable and worked efficiently throughout the process, which I appreciated. Beyond that - there were issues. Firstly, the team arrived about 20 minutes late. I did appreciate the heads-up text, but on one of the most stressful days of your life, it's worth noting - especially as it was early in the morning. More importantly, I was under the impression that loading the truck was part of the service I hired Intense Movers to provide. Nope. Instead, that responsibility was completely handed off to my partner, who stayed with the truck while the movers brought items down for him to load. There was no discussion about this. In fact, it was initially suggested that I use only 2 movers but I requested another to be more efficient. I didn't realize that they assumed my partner was an unpaid 4th. Items with "this side up" stickers were completely disregarded. They brought everything down however they wanted to and handed them off to my partner however was most convenient for them. Also, a couple of guys who were not part of the moving team entered my apartment unannounced, to say hello to the movers. They did not clearly identify themselves, though it seemed like they may have been affiliated with the company. Regardless, having strangers invite themselves into my apartment during the move was pretty inappropriate. Lastly, when it came time for payment, you can only pay by cash or Zelle - which, to me, is sketchy AF. I had planned to send it via Zelle to their company account as instructed. However, the lead mover was insistent that I send the payment directly to him instead, saying he needed to pay his workers immediately. He was so insistent about it that it made me feel really uneasy. In the end, if I could do it all over - I definitely would have chosen someone else who was more professional.

After seeing such great reviews online we decided to book with pick and pack. This was easily the worst, most expensive, and most frustrating move I've ever experienced. We moved out of our 2-bed, 2-bath apartment on Sunday, August 2nd. We've moved this exact same furniture multiple times over the last five years, moved that were much farther away and with multiple stops. (I'm talking two stops over 40 minutes away plus a new apartment 40 minutes away from that, walk up to walk up). This move was one apartment with a walk up to a new apartment with an elevator 20 minutes apart. lt has never cost this much or gone this badly. They estimated $1,600-$1,800 for 6-7 hours which was similar to our last moves, but the final bill came out to a whopping $2,200, $2,500 with tip. That's $500-$700 more than far more complicated moves we've done in the past. The crew moved much slower than previous movers I have experienced. They kept disappearing for 15 minutes at a time, and they actually charged us for their lunch break, which is standard, except they were gone over an hour and there was only 20 minutes of travel time. The lack of respect for our things was unbelievable. They completely cracked my antique bar cart handles and wheel, cracked one of our lamps, and my dog's crate. Worst of all, my jewelry armoire was locked prior to our move but must have been pried open because the lock is completely broken and bent now. I haven't even finished unpacking yet and I'm terrified of what else I'm going to find ruined. On top of the damage, they literally left multiple pieces of furniture behind at our old place. They claimed some pieces couldn't be moved safely, which is a total lie because previous movers handled them just fine (Again, for less money and less time EVEN PACKING THEM FOR US) . Other items they just abandoned without saying a word. (there were things we had them leave, these were things they were absolutely supposed to take). They also promised they would arrange my living room furniture they had to move due to space to back where I wanted it at the end of the day, but after taking all day, they just left without doing it. They also did an awful job putting our furniture back together creating even more work for us It is incredibly fishy how this place has so many good reviews online. Now I know why: they make you fill out a survey right before they leave, before you even have a second to look around and notice that your stuff is broken or missing. Again these piece have all been moved multiple times by different movers (all good experiences) with no damage.
