I've finally found a place where I can buy just protein without carbs! For the longest time I've…read morestruggled to find a place where I can just go and order meat or chicken only without any rice or bread. Well, this is the place to go and while they're well known for their BBQ (or so I've heard), majority of their menu is spicy. However, I was excited to find that some items, such as the chicken tikka and malai boti are mild/not too spicy so I often for those. I didn't try any of the meat items, since I don't really eat meat, but everything I've ordered from their chicken was amazing! I loved the malai boti, chicken malai leg and the chicken tikka. We ordered some karachi paratha on the side and decided to make our own paratha roll at home with the chicken and it turned out very very good. I would come back here in the future should I need or crave good chicken and BBQ. The seasoning and spices used were great. Their tea was also pretty good and portion was quite generous. I gave a 4/5 as I also tried their peshawari ice cream, but was not a fan of it. The ice cream used was not creamy enough and it was topped with rooh afza, making it a little sweeter and the ice cream was also quite small considering it was $5. Stick to what they're known for and that is their kababs and BBQ. Don't forget to grab some tea as well. Forgot to grab a pic of our order.

After placing one's order, it takes about 45 minutes for the food to come out, for whatever reason. Even though the restaurant was less than half full. Beef seekh kababs ($12 CAD = $8.55 USD) - This consisted of seasoned ground beef, onions, and aromatic spices. The kababs were juicy and smokey and tasted amazing! Malai boti ($17 CAD = $12.11 USD) - The chicken here was prepared in a rich, creamy marinade with spices and was literally melting in my mouth when I ate it. Chicken tikka boti boneless ($17 CAD = $12.11 USD) - Marinated in traditional Pakistani spices, the chicken had a smoky and savory taste and the spice profile was more intense as compared to the malai boti. I was surprised at how tender this chicken was and the marinade penetrated the meat really well. Bihari kabab ($19 CAD = $13.53 USD) - These kababs were even more tender then the seekh kababs and were falling apart when I picked them up. It has a bolder and smokier flavor then the seekh kababs Naan ($2.50 CAD = $1.78 USD) - The naan here is pillowy soft and large given the price point and perfect with the kababs. Water bottle ($2 CAD = $1.42 USD) - Unfortunately they don't offer complimentary water here. Overall this is some of the best tasting Pakistani food I have had! The grilled items here are incredible!

TLDR version: horrible dining experience, decent tasting food…read more Let me start by saying that the quality of the food here was great, and very tasty. Unfortunately though, there's more to a dining experience than just the taste of the food and that's where this restaurant falls absolutely flat on their face. Horrible dining experience. First off, the waitresses were completely lifeless, mumbled everything, didn't even have the care to look in your direction while speaking, let alone look at you. Asking things like "what's popular here" didn't really yield any response from them either. In addition to that, the wait time of the food was a bit too much. We were one of only two small tables in the restaurant at the time and had to wait 40 minutes for food that usually wouldn't take anywhere near that long. The quantity itself was a bit on the low side as well. And finally to wrap it up, on a hot summer night, it was boiling inside due to their AC not working. So we had to eat our food literally dripping in sweat.

Initially their prices were amazingly affordable for the quality and quantity of food (in my case their various biryanis) and though they have gone up over the years it is still good value for the money. I think their Biryani (very flavourful) is the main draw, but one has to remember that it is the Pakistani version of biryani and not to be confused with other types like Punjabi, Sindhi or Hyderabadi. The one thing I would critique are the items in their counter displays. Very often they appear to have been sitting out there for hours and look dry and unappetizing, and having ordered their chicken kabobs (only once) I was extremely disappointed. Their samosas (beef and chicken) were amazing and reasonably priced at one point in time but now the size has become smaller, filling less and the price ($1 each) has increased. Yet they are doing excellent business and always very busy so they are definitely doing something right!

From Hero to Zero…read more I'm not a frequent biryani eater, but when I do have it, I prefer quality over quantity. I've been a regular customer of Deira Biryani, usually ordering once a week or at least twice a month, and it's consistently been good--until now. This time, the experience was disappointing. The biryani lacked flavor, the rice was bland and overcooked, and there were no curry spices to enhance the taste. They used veal with bone, and I was served a large, inedible piece along with two giant potatoes that took up most of the container--leaving very little room for the actual biryani rice. What was even more frustrating was the lack of customer service. I called them twice to share my feedback, but no one bothered to return the call or acknowledge the issue. Sadly, what was once a reliable go-to has taken a step in the wrong direction.

But I have finally found the one at Dera Biryani house. They really put their heart into it when they make the biryani. I ordered the Veal and Chicken biryani large tray. The flavour, the taste, the combination of rice with biryani masala was just delicious. Veal biryani had soo much flavour. It was fresh. It was HOT. It was delicious. I can go on and on. If you guys are ever craving biryani, this is the place to be. I drove from Milton just to get this biryani. The owners are so nice and accommodating. I asked for a fresh tray they said it should be ready in an hour and they did as promised. My favourite part of this biryani was the potato. I would definitely come back to this place no matter how busy they are. Thank you Sohail for making our lunch special !

We weren't sure on what to order at first, but decided on the veg breakfast platter, the non-veg breakfast platter with kheema, and a nihari. All the dishes were the best we've had. Living in Buffalo, we have a huge variety of Indian food, but the Indian/South Asian food in Canada is almost always better. This was the best we've have in North America. We definitely ordered more than we expected. We had absolutely nothing to complain about. Well, maybe the aalo bhaji could be a little bit more warm, but that's being picky. All the flavors of all the dishes were exceptional. We will definitely be coming back and we definitely wish we lived closer.
