Owned by a man, Mr. Peters, who knows his medical equipment I was able to get my father's wheelchair repaired in one week. Most of that time was spent waiting for the replacement part. We chose to take the chair to his store but for an additional fee he can travel to your residence to make the necessary repairs. The fee was reasonable given replacement parts are priced by corporate robber barons but so worth it to avoid the purchase of a new chair. I highly recommend this repair shop. No surprise there, the most challenging however were the oil leaks which quickly surfaced. It was diagnosed incorrectly 3x by auto repair shops such as MAVIS, Pep Boys and Firestone. MAVIS said it was from an oil plug washer and then Pep Boys wanted to replace the upper and lower intake manifold gaskets for $3300. and then Firestone said it was a transmission leak and sent me to Denville Transmission where Rob strongly recommended "SACKS SHELL" as he stated it was definitely an engine leak and not a transmission issue. From the start, I will tell you Bryan's confidence and honesty was impressive. He was assuring me that the owner, Fred, was honest and a straight shooter. He explained oil leaks are commonly coming from more than one source and the solution was likely going to be a process. After an inspection, Fred, the owner, felt the major leak was from the oil pan gasket so his expert mechanic Paul replaced same which slowed the leak down a lot. However, Fred was very scientific in his approach and I felt a partnership developed to be thorough and that a follow up was needed so we agreed to add new dye back into the engine oil to follow up for possibly more sources of the oil leakage. Sure enough it wasn't done leaking, this time it was revealed that the main rear engine seal was also leaking. His other expert mechanic, Lupe successfully did that job. You guessed it, there was still one more leak, it turned out to be a transmission cooler fitting on the transmission side which Fred was gracious enough not to charge me for that minor repair. The bottom line is that Fred has a great crew with tons of experience and everyone of them I found to be honest, responsive, reliable and professional in every way. Fred runs a terrific business and his prices are fair and reasonable. I plan on going there again and again... it was a refreshing and great experience. Finally, I found some good solid mechanics and a business owner who is fair and doesn't charge a fortune !!! " Gooooo Sack's Shell " !!!

John, the manager, and the other employees were friendly and courteous. However, they were…read moredishonest, incompetent and overpriced. I presented my vehicle to Denville Exxon for correction of a minor problem such that the transmission shift lever was difficult to operate. John Schwarz said that he knew exactly what was causing the problem and that it would cost me somewhat over $300. I said that I didn't want to spend that much. He said that if it is not fixed, something would break suddenly, leaving me stranded with a disabled vehicle. Therefore, I agreed to the repair. I also asked that they attempt to loosen the oil filter because after a recent professional oil change, I determine that the filter was overtightened. John said that sometimes they have to destroy a filter in order to remove it. I specified that if they were not able to loosen it with an ordinary filter wrench, just leave it alone. I also asked that, while the vehicle was on a lift, they adjust the rear drum brakes. After John called to tell me that the vehicle was fixed, I went to the shop and found that the shifting was much worse than before. John told me to leave it and they will fix it. Two days later he called again. He said that everything was fine and that I should pick it up. When I arrived, he charged me $665.74. After I drove off, I phoned John from the road side. I said that the shifter was not working well and that now the ABS (antilock braking system) lamp was lit. He said that both problems will "work themselves out" after driving awhile. A few days later, while parking, the shifter became loose and the transmission was locked in Park. I called John and asked him to tow the vehicle back to his shop. He told me that, contrary to what is printed on their card, they do not do towing. He offered to recommend a towing service. He said that they would not pay for the tow. I had it towed instead to North Jersey Transmission. Ed at NJT said that the problem was the starter lockout switch, a common problem. He said that it was unlikely that the original shift cable needed replacement. He said that the aftermarket cable, for which Denville Exxon charged me $127 retails (as part of a repair) for less than $35. The replacement cable broke because of faulty adjustment. NJT charged me $69 for a genuine Ford OEM part. I mention this to illustrate the dishonesty and incompetence of Denville Exxon; the cable did not require replacement, the new cable was not adjusted correctly, and they grossly overcharged for it. NJT fixed the problem and charged me much less, which included almost $100 for the starter lockout switch. I was billed, by Denville Exxon, about $50 for an oil change that I did not ask for and which was unnecessary. The vehicle had been driven less than 200 miles since the previous oil change. I was billed $14 for "shop supplies". John told me that this was for printer paper, toner, and telephone! I was billed $10 for "qty 2 of fluids, top off as needed". I didn't ask for this. John said that it is "part of the program". The vehicle was returned to me with washer, power steering and coolant fluids low. They did not adjust the brakes. Although they didn't charge me for brake adjustment, they broke something in the anti-lock braking system.

Crash Champions was the closest and I did a quick search to see some overall positive reviews. I made an appointment online, only for them to end up calling me to say they were busy. They made it clear that I could keep the appointment only for an estimate. I brought the car in and one of the employees did the evaluation. I was instructed to drop the car off 3/24/26 and given an estimated completion date of 4/3/26. I received an email update 3/31/26 saying it was on track for completion. By the morning of 4/3, I called to ask if my car was ready for me to pick up, and they told me it was not. Afterwards, they sent an email update saying the new date would be 4/6/26. What a shock, I called on 4/6 and they tell me my car will be ready, they'll call me later in the afternoon. Hours later, I called back and I was told that the painter left for the day, my car is still in the building, and they have no idea why it isn't complete. Once again, I hung up and received an email saying the new date is now 4/8/26. It was amazing how I was only getting updates AFTER I called to inquire about the status. While I totally understand that things happen and delays may occur, this business has no communication. I've never experienced such a blatant disregard for my time and money. It became a running joke in my circle that my car would be ready in another week if I was lucky. Imagine if I had rented a car for this? Thankfully, I had a vehicle I was able to borrow during this entire exchange. I needed time before I wrote my review with a clear head, because I was so livid. Even better, there's a part of my car's grill that is moveable, so they didn't even do a good job after holding my car for so long. No worries though, even with them being slow to communicate or get the job done, they can take your payment super-fast. I would never recommend anyone go here for any type of repair service.

This place is a nightmare…read more Held my car for 3 months for a few side cosmetic dents. Then repaired "56" dents that I did not even know about. Did not repair the dent I did tell them about (Honestly I think they did fix the dent and damaged it themselves because the dent looks different.) and told me I have to pay out of pocket since the insurance didn't approve of said 56 dents. Even the secretary was repeating that I need to pay if the insurance doesn't. Once I said it was illegal they took that back real quick. Very unethical. My trim has paint all over it and they warped the plastic trying to fix it. The car smells of mold and the passenger sunvisor, that they broke and "fixed", pops off while I drive. What a headache. Also $4000 dollars in a rental that the insurance is not paying for because this shop delayed for months without reason. Scammers that are costing me way more than the minor dents that I came in with. Issues are only piling up after getting the car back.

There was a truck at the first gas pump. I pulled around the truck and backed into the second gas pump spot. Yes, I could've gone to the other pump on the other side, and I probably should have but I didn't. Immediately, Kumar starts shouting, "Are you well?! Did you drink your coffee today?! Are you asleep?! Don't you see the truck behind you?!". I simply told him to "have patience with me, please, as I figure this out". He continues to complain saying that I need to go home and get some sleep. I finally pull into the spot and yet again, he questions me, "Where are you going? Back home to sleep? Or to work? Are you good?". I said, "Can you please fill my tank so I can be on my way". I am appalled at the lack of patience people have. I made a mistake and probably shouldn't have backed into the spot. Needless to say, this made me feel incredibly upset and I will not return here again. This is the most convenient Exxon location since I live right in town. I will miss seeing Freddy, as he has always been kind and considerate. Kumar's behavior is shameful.
