I am a plus-sized girl and have a very large calf. It is quite muscular as well, so I was very worried about being able to find a boot that would fit. And while it did take a lot of work, we ended up finding one that fit great. Nelson, the man who assisted me, was extremely kind and did not ONCE make me feel bad about being a bigger woman. He did everything he could, including calling around to see if there were any other options for me. He was taking bits and pieces from different boots to customize it for me too. All of this was without asking. He made sure he didn't hurt my ankle too, which was more than I had to say about the ER physicians!!! I ended up paying $138 and it is covered 80% by my extended medical. You will pay almost double this at a specialist office. Anyways, I will be back. They have great deals on ice packs (a HUGE one for $8 and it is reusable) and rehab equipment. I will tell everyone who needs it to go to them!

He spoke to me about how they are wanting to set up an ostomy care service and asked if I'd be willing to share insight into my experiences. My ostomy supplies had to be ordered in; I went there on a Saturday and they came in on Tueday. When I wasn't able to pick up my supplies, he delivered them to my work place in Vancouver. NO ostomy care centre has EVER offered that to me before. Wow! I definitely recommend this place to ostomy patients in the Tri-Cities area (and beyond!).

These folks took me under their wings at the most vulnerable point of my life, during cancer treatment and recovery. The compassion and understanding of these gals, front desk and nurses, is incredible. If you're in the crappy position (pun intended) and forced to use a prosthesis for an ostomy, this is the place to come for help and supplies. It's the only ostomy centre / center in North America. I don't care where you live in the Lower Mainland, you have to support this business that does so much for the community. Live in Vancouver, get your butt on the SkyTrain and take it the 22nd Street Station, and then walk an easy block to the clinic. Appointments are free (as many as you want) with several well-versed ostomy nurses. These nurses are the ones that get you through the many challenging days following a new stoma. If you have to crawl to this place after your surgery, do so. No one is immune to the emotional challenges an ostomy brings, especially from cancer. My appointments were never rushed and I was able to get a lot off my chest. I had to wean myself from the nurses' help because of holiday travel, but they never pressured me to not make future appointments. If you aren't able to travel to New West, I know they'll help you over the phone and they ship their supplies province-wide.

With that in the back of my mind I was nervous going to Nightingale to get a compression bra prior to surgery. Nervous enough as it was. What a pleasant surprise. I would like to rate my inter-action with the Kintec Customer Service agent I spoke to on Sept 6th…read moreearly evening. When I called the Kintec Customer Service I spoke to an agent named Parneeth. She was so rude when I inquired about setting an appointment with a consultant to present my prescription for an ankle brace and extra wide toe box runners to accommodate an ankle brace and orthotics. Instead of helping me with my inquiry since I was asking a question and clarifying on the ankle braces they offer at Kintec, she cut me off and ended my call. This is why I went to Kintec-Richmond the following day, Sept 7th, to inquire personally. This is where I spoke to Ryan, the sales associate/ consultant who truly helped with my needs. I even mentioned to Ryan about the call I made to Kintec Customer Service and how rude the agent, Parneeth, was when cut me off and ended my call. She should be re-trained on providing good customer service to the clients.
