I enjoyed this place so much, I had to FaceTime my mom to show her how cool everything was. They had new, vintage, repurposed, and hand crafted pieces throughout the entire store. Pricing seemed high, but the quality was stellar. They also have a room full of just lampshades, so if you need to upgrade an old lamp, this would be a great place to go. They have a workshop in the store where they create items and it would be so cool to take an old piece to them and see what they can turn it into. They are right off of bridge street so you can plan for street parking. We went on the weekend when parking was free.

We shopped around a lot! (Several places in GR, Kalamazoo and even Chicago) Then finally found…read moreBridge Street Lighting. Darren has been exceptionally helpful and since this is a small family owned business he has been able to customize in ways that no other lighting store offered. This is easily the best lighting store I have ever dealt with!

We asked Wolter's to provide us with a whole house backup power solution that would keep us online when storms knock out power. They have installed a Kohler RCA20 natural gas generator with internet connectivity...and it is perfect. But more important was the level of service--both technically and from the business office. We always understood what choices were being made, and the communication on delivery, installation and operations could not have been better. We cannot recommend them highly enough.

On of the most knowlegable LED lighting companies that I have ever come across in 30 years. If you have questions or LED lighting needs, call them for cost effective solutions. They also are great with the energy companies Rebate system. They saved me alot of money and did the paperwork for the rebate for me. read more

AND no it wasn't a circuit breaker that tripped!) So we called Scheidel Electric! They determined the problem, fixed it and the cost was minimal to us. From the time we called to when it was repaired was less than 8 hours! We would highly recommend using this company for your electrical needs due to their great service, dependability and expertise in determining and rectifying electrical problems. We will be calling them back for more service work at our house!

I was informed by Kleyn that they would cover the cost of the repairs as it was their electrician who damaged the pipe. After spending my time finding the least expensive contractors to make the repairs and taking time off work to be there for the repairs, Kleyn informed me they would not be covering the cost of the plaster repair, approximately $875. They told me this after the repair had been made, leaving me on the hook for the entire cost. Damaging the pipe is one issue, refusing to cover the repair costs after promising to cover them is a second issue. I am now having to go through insurance to make sure I am not on the hook for damage they caused. With all the other electricians in the Grand Rapids area, there's no reason to go with them.

Old To Gold was responsive and quick with the quote and although their cost was higher than other companies we talked to, they could get our job done much quicker, which was great as we wanted to get the floors done before we moved everything in. Other companies were quoting us a month out or longer! The job itself was quick and everything went well. There were a few dark spots on the floor that they were able to sand out and finish nicely. We also had them interlace some new planks in a spot where the floors had been removed and never put back. Finally, we also paid them to sink and cover the nailheads that were exposed when we ripped up the carpet. We were able to cut some of the costs by removing the carpet and tack strips ourselves. After they finished the job I did notice a few drips of finish that had hardened on some of our newly painted trim and our side door, which was not a big deal but some might have been more upset about that. Everyone I spoke with at Old To Gold including the manager and the guys who came to our house was professional and polite.
