My boyfriend and I got a couple quotes from different companies to refinish our hardwood floors…read morebefore we moved into our new home. Old To Gold was responsive and quick with the quote and although their cost was higher than other companies we talked to, they could get our job done much quicker, which was great as we wanted to get the floors done before we moved everything in. Other companies were quoting us a month out or longer! The job itself was quick and everything went well. There were a few dark spots on the floor that they were able to sand out and finish nicely. We also had them interlace some new planks in a spot where the floors had been removed and never put back. Finally, we also paid them to sink and cover the nailheads that were exposed when we ripped up the carpet. We were able to cut some of the costs by removing the carpet and tack strips ourselves. After they finished the job I did notice a few drips of finish that had hardened on some of our newly painted trim and our side door, which was not a big deal but some might have been more upset about that. Everyone I spoke with at Old To Gold including the manager and the guys who came to our house was professional and polite.

The worker will come one day and the job left unfinished for another couple days without any communication. - When we contacted G for updates, he gave many excuse, instead give us clear answers about the schedule - The quality of the work was inconsistent. One room would look great, while another had noticeable gaps and unfinished details. (We had to hire another company to redo that part.) - Make sure to get everything in writing before the project starts. Otherwise, you may encounter unexpected price increases partway through the job.

He continues to add extra costs to the job, but did not finish the job as promised. I have several logs that are still not sealed even though the owner claims the job is done. I now have to hire someone else to complete the job that this company has not completed. Do not put your trust in this company, you will be disappointed.

I'm honestly shocked this company is still in business. I could have done a better job with a palm…read moresander, an oil drum of nail polish, and a window squeegee. There is a seemingly endless amount of dog hair, paint chips, staples, dust bunnies, and literal paint underneath the finish. Look, I'm ok if you show up to your job reeking of marijuana (as this gentleman did) as long as you do your job. However, this fell well short of the efforts of a 12 year old. To top it all off, they tried to blame me for the paint ALL. OVER. the second floor...except we hadn't painted those rooms. After 6 months, the finish was already chipping and showing other signs of wear. Here I am a year later, and I have yet to be filled with anything but regret when I look at my floors. Better Business Bureau NEEDS to do something
