Nice new vehicle with under 10k miles and all the bells and whistles for modern convenience e.g. backup camera, touchscreen, hands-free etc. Heck the danged car even found and linked to my phone via Bluetooth before asking me if wished to pair them! Paperwork drill was uncomplicated and drop off was easy too. I took one rating star off as there was no one in the lot to hand my pre-inspection noting damage to nor anyone to record mileage, fuel status etc when I dropped it off.

I had a terrible experience with Alamo Rent a Car at Augusta Airport last week. I was in a very…read moredesperate situation after my wallet was stolen, which included all my IDs and credit cards. I was visiting from California on a business trip, and I needed to get to Savannah, where my ID was being mailed. I called the rental counter at Augusta Airport, explaining my situation, but they told me they only accept a physical driver's license. I then contacted Alamo's corporate office, and after speaking with the managers there, they confirmed that given the circumstances, they would accept a copy of my driver's license, and I could pay the rental fee online since all my cards were stolen. However, when I arrived at the Augusta branch on the day of my reservation, the staff refused to honor what corporate had told me. The young woman working at the counter treated me with a shockingly rude and uncaring attitude. Even after I showed her my government badge and explained my situation, she refused to show any compassion or understanding. I even called the manager on duty, who said the same thing--that despite what corporate had told me, they would not rent me the car without the physical license. He mentioned that corporate couldn't dictate the branch's policies, which felt extremely unprofessional and contradictory. As a middle-aged man who is obviously of a different ethnicity than most people in the area, I couldn't help but feel that I was treated with a lack of respect and empathy that others may not have experienced. While I cannot say for certain if this played a part, it's hard to ignore the possibility. What upset me more than anything was the lack of empathy and the dismissive attitude of the staff. I am a professional, on a government business trip, and was in a desperate situation, yet I was treated like I was asking for something unreasonable. This experience not only caused me a significant amount of stress but also cost me a great deal of money for alternative transportation (Uber) and a lot of inconvenience. It was incredibly frustrating to be treated like I didn't matter, especially when Alamo's corporate office had already assured me that I could use my electronic ID. This kind of unprofessional and uncaring behavior is unacceptable, and I will not be using Alamo again.

Bait and Switch Alert! This enterprise branch is the king of the baiting and switching the car you…read morereserve for lesser priced vehicles in their lot . Once again I arranged for an elite SUV for a wedding trip only to be put in a car which was so uncomfortable because of the height room for anyone over 6". What is frustrating is that you make the reservation based on the vehicles offered at the location. You confirm the reservation and add the credit card in ADVANCE so that they confirm you will pick up in 24 hours. You arrive ON TIME for your reservation and get told not only do they not have your vehicle but we will take only 20 dollars off TOTAL for the much less expensive vehicle we have to take or risk paying double at one of the other rentals in the airport due to same day reservations . As they know they have you over a barrel because most people travel on a timed schedule. Only to go out to the parking lot and have to fully sanitize the vehicle offered because it smells like someone was in there heavily smoking in the vehicle. But at least you were lucky to have a vehicle because the young lady standing next to you can't even get her vehicle because the one minivan they had in stock was given to someone else. Their response was take this midsize SUV and make do. Even though when she spoke to them an hour before, they said the vehicle was ready for pick up. How a vehicle reserved for 7-8 is supposed to fit in an SUV that holds 5 supposed to "make do". Of course no one in the area has the vehicle she requested right from another enterprise or one of the sister businesses in the area at the time of day. Keep in mind, this reservation was not on a holiday weekend or a high travel weekend. We were attending a wedding and wanted the SUV in case the weather was wet or icy since the weather had been fluctuating in Ohio for a few weeks including snow. We have used Enterprise in Columbia SC for family trips to Florida x 4 over the last year, the same account and during busier travel dates to go to Orlando and every single time not only do we get our vehicles on time, but the transaction is worry free and quick. They meet you in the lot and review that you are satisfied with your vehicle before completing the transaction. We now have contingency plans that when we travel north in the future to use the Carolina branch instead even though we would have to pay to park in the airport lot, I am too old for the stress and hassle. Do better Augusta!

I arrived after a long day of travel and a delayed flight with a confirmed reservation through Costco Travel linked to my Budget membership. Despite that, I was told there were no cars available and to wait about 45 minutes. That wait dragged on with no clear solution in sight. The employee at the counter, an African American man wearing a bright red knit cap and red clothing, was dismissive and unhelpful when I asked if I could cancel. I felt vulnerable and disrespected as a woman traveling alone. I ultimately canceled because I had no confidence anything would be resolved. Three follow-up calls to customer service went nowhere. Confirmed reservations should mean a car or at minimum honest communication and respectful treatment. I have escalated this to corporate and want an investigation. I would caution anyone thinking of renting here.

Dollar is located in baggage service ion the Augusta Airport. Michelle was pleasant and friendly…read moreand I appreciated that. I also like the suv I received (an upgrade), a Hyundai, Sante Fe. It was black and had some good features in there like a phone charging pad, easy media set-up and Sirius xm. I also liked that they had charging ports in the rear of the vehicle. Now for the cons. Company policy is that you have to sign a sheet saying that you received the car and it has gas and based on the person who cleans and checks the cars, it's in good order. But if it's not, you have to take pictures and then send an email. Well truthfully speaking, that's ridiculous. And I don't have another way to say it. I heard when the person in front of me was being told this but I'm like, is Dollar serious? First of all, legally speaking, no one anywhere should be signing anything without first examining the vehicle. I literally spent an hour in the rental lot videoing, and taking photos of the vehicle because: 1. I was told it was clean and unless my definition of clean is different, it was not. When I got to the car? There was big, nasty dirty bird poo on the windshield. Now, these guys can't be in control of that, but if someone is coming to rent the car that day, it should be checked. 2. The trunk was not clean 3. The side door has candy wrappers in the driver's side. 4. The hood of the Sante Fe was scratched up as well as the side view mirrors. There were also scratches on other areas of the car. 5. No wiper wash fluid So I had to spend extra time taking pictures to them send to the email. Then I turn on the wiper washer to try to get the bird poo off, but bc there was no wiper fluid, I couldn't get it ofc bc apparently the poop was so hard, you could tell it was there for a while. As I was about to go back into the airport to complain, I spotted a guy who worked there. I explained what was happening and he told me to follow him. So after spending one hour to takes pics, etc, I now had to follow the guy to take care of the wiper fluid. The kicker is when we get the the light, a train is passing. Not a 5 minute train, like a 15 train passing and all you can do is wait. So that was another hour and 15 minutes of my time. Then another 20 minutes to get to the place where they wash the cars and the guy was able to put on washer fluid and clean the bird poop. Come on Dollar, and whatever else car rental company that is doing this. #1. No one should sign without seeing the car 1st and being with someone to have the car being checked properly. I'm sure this doesn't happen all the time but some people don't check their vehicles when they drive off the lot. But I do. I have been burned by a rental car company even when doing the right thing- (BUDGET)! #2. There needs to be instructions on the paperwork on how to return the vehicle when dropping the car off before 7am. I arrived at the airport before 7am, and after I checked in, I said let me go to the counter bc they open at 7 and see if anyone was there. A guy was there and told me I should've dropped the keys off in a box down by Hertz. Really?! Where are the signs for that? Luckily, the airport is small and I was able to go back to the car and get the keys after I checked in. Written instructions are wonderful! Now if you don't read them that's a you problem, but for a small airport, it should be more simple than that. Do better Dollar @ Augusta. But I really liked my ride though. So that was a plus.

Our first experience with Dollar at AGS Airport will also be our last! I've rented from every other…read morecompany at AGS Airport and NEVER had an experience as awful as the one I had with Dollar. The pickup agent, Michelle, was wonderful; however, everything after that was a disaster. When I called ahead on our return date to let them know we were stuck in Atlanta traffic, the manager, Tabitha, never asked for my name or rental agreement number, never explained the late return policy, and never disclosed that returning more than three hours late would result in a full extra day charge. She simply said the price would be "adjusted" when we arrived. We rushed to return the car based on her guidance, only to be charged for a full extra day anyway. When I later spoke with her, she was rude, dismissive, talked over me repeatedly, and took zero accountability for her failure to provide accurate information. Dollar's corporate response was equally disappointing and relied on a statement from the manager that was blatantly untrue. For this reason, I had no choice but to file a chargeback request through my credit card for the extra day charge. Save yourself the headache. There are plenty of rental companies at AGS that actually value customer service and honesty. Dollar is not one of them!
