Months and months and months of frustrations and headaches, getting the BBB involved, and changing our initial review, and we FINALLY received a refund on their low-quality and faulty balancer. Three of them, to be exact, by the time the whole deal was said and done. We will NEVER purchase from them again. Original review: The original balancer purchased arrived in a faulty state. They sent out a new motherboard to repair the issue. It worked for 2 days, then began malfunctioning. After numerous calls, we were able to send this faulty unit back and was promised by "Josh" that if the third unit sent to my business did not function correctly, I would be given a full refund. After two weeks the new unit arrived and it worked for 4 tires and began malfunctioning. I have tickets showing "in house balancing" as opposed to "send out balancing". This protects us from balance failure issues if we have to utilize another shop for services. To date and all three balancers we have tried from National Tool, we have charged out only 9 tire balances. I have been waiting for a resolution from "Josh" who never returns calls. The last balancer was picked up at my location on November 9th and delivered to them on November 11th. I called and documented 12 calls and never received a call back. I emailed Blanca and she said she reached out to "Josh" and he still did not call. I emailed and he still did not call. Finally, I called Nov, 30th and he took the call only to tell me they tested the unit and found it, yet again, was faulty and were going to send out another machine. I reminded him that he promised it would be a full refund if the third try did not work. I have been in business for 16 years and have dealt with a few companies that did not "come through", in general, but for the most part companies do as they promise and advertise. Bought an NTO 10A 2 post lift. As with every one else, no manual was sent. Finally figured out that for a company that supposedly had 45 years of experience, the nonsense about so many different models was just that. The real deal is the 3 days to report missing parts clause in the back of the manual you don't get WITH the lift. I was missing a $3 pigtail that was supposed to be on the power unit that wasn't. I sent the first e-mail thru Amazon. I was connected with JOHN, listed as the Service Manager. After a bunch of dumb answers, none of which had any semblance to, "how about we send you the $3 part" he told me to jump the high amp leads with the 5 amp safety switch leads. (have the e-mails to prove it). After a little rebuke for his obvious attempt to have me void my warranty, he then told me to hire an electrician. He then put me on ignore for the next 4 hours so he could go on his 3 day weekend. After I e-mailed him again and told him to get off his arse and get me the connector, as well as what I was going to do if he didn't (which he didn't get until Tuesday morning) he was all docile and sir this, sir that, told me that he was just a parts guy, and the whole game started again. Again he put me on ignore until the placed closed for the day. I said that that was enough and sent an e-mail to Josh Sherbet, who is the Vice President of the company, laying out what at this time was a 17 part e-mail string. Now they both had my phone number in writing 4 separate times, yet never even attempted to call. By the time Josh was into the mix, I was doubting that I even got what I ordered. The power unit didn't look like what I had, the unit was not compatable with the lift I bought, the lift had no identification items of any kind on it, ( data plate, load capacity, manufacturer markings, or anything that differentiated it from the cheaper NTO 9A that looks identical in all respects to the 10A. I mentioned this to Josh and NEVER got an answer. In my opinion, this type of action is more the norm when you have a problem they do not want to address; stall, obfuscate, demean, and or treat you to a pat on the head with a smirky "run along son, big people are talking". It appears that if your dealing with tire changers and balancers, they are more likely to come back thru the front window and are addressed accordingly, even though they seem to have more problems. With lifts, they know you have already drilled the floor and are less likely to send them back, so if there is a problem, their attitude is much different. If I had an employee who has cost me at least 6 sales just by the word of mouth of one customer who just happened to have a Memorial Day get together with 27 of my closest gear head retired military buddies with money who respect each others opinions, he'd be crying like a girl in the unemployment line. That is, of course unless he is just following the leader in that ZOO. And all this for a lousey $3 pigtail connector. Wonder what a real problem would generate? read more

We were profoundly disappointed in the level of service we received from this company. We will not be using them again.

I bought their Triumph TC-950 tire machine in Nov 2018 with the right assist arm for my auto repair business. It had very good fit and finish, was easy to set up, and runs great. After two weeks, the turntable was having a minor control issue, so I called Service at their Fort Worth warehouse, spoke with John, he asked for a certain angle of a video with sound, he reviewed it, said this was the problem, we drove over to pick up the part, replaced it and back in business. Now my tire guys want the left assist arm, they like the machine and want all the bells and whistles. I also have a two post lift from them in my home garage (2012) and it has been trouble free since day one and I use it all the time. Everything mechanical breaks, the secret is getting parts and experienced service advice, and these guys do both very well. read more

i bought a tire machine/balancer combo what a mistake!!! i received my stuff set it all up according to directions tried it and it does not work right. I cannot balance tires it does not work. I then try to contact there customer servive / tech department and im told cant you read direction i cant help you its all in the directions. then im put on hold and left for ever. so i hang up and try to call back 15 to 20 times over next week or so !!!! left messages was put on hold long periods nobody ever availible to help after a month i have contacted my credit company and still no help from national auto tool read more

They sold me 2 hydraulic jacks to use with a lift I purchased from them. I told them the jacks needed to lift a car that had 4 inches of ground clearance. Sales guy (Jim) told me no problem. So I bought 2 for $350 each. It took me 2 months to get the jacks, I kept calling and was told "we have to order them", then "they're not in yet", then the delivery guy "won't be in austin for a few weeks". So it took me 2 months and a LOT of phone calls to even get the jacks delivered. THE COMPANY REQUIRED PAYMENT IN ADVANCE, SO ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY GOOD LUCK GETTING YOUR PURCHASE!! Once they finally delivered my jacks, they didn't fit under my car. They sold me SUV jacks that require 7 inches of ground clearance!!! I tried calling them and was told by the secretary that no one could take my call, but she'd leave a message and NO ONE CALLED ME BACK!!! I called 2 times per week for 2 months!!! and to this day no one has called me back!!! So now I'm out $700 and stuck with 2 jacks that i can't use at all!! AND they weigh 300 pound EACH so they're pretty hard for me to move around!!! I filed a complaint with the BBB in forth worth. UPDATE: after the BBB stepped in NAT agreed to refund my money, but only if I drove the jacks back to Fort Worth myself and dropped them off. THIS PURCHASE WAS A NIGHTMARE!!! Really wish I didn't have to put a star at all! This is a nightmare company to deal with. First motor I received was damaged in "shipping". I had to send back and one they received the damaged one they shipped out the replacement. Finally received, hooked up the motor and what do you know... it doesn't work. Blanca would tell me that she would have the service department call - guess what, they never did. Sent emails but they never responded to those either. Bought my firs order from National in Oct 2010 and my last order just this last may. Now have a tire machine and a wheel balancer along with an ol drain, and a few other tools. I must say, When I first opened my small shop and a sales guy came by and told me it was going to be $10K for a few pcs of tire equipment, I about lost my mind.....He even warned me about the imported stuff like Coats, and Tryump...but here I am nearly a year later and I am happy with my purchase. For the record I shoudl have gone with the blue machines not red, but you live an learn. all and all i saved over $6k and with the exception of a broken clamp (witch they replaced) I have been pleased with Natonal and I will be back if I happen to need more equipment or tools. read more

I guess I was naive when I paid, in advance, almost $3000 for a tire changer and balancer. I ordered and paid for the items on Nov.11th 2010. It is now Jan.10th, 2011. When I called after Christmas, I was told it would be on the truck the following Wed. and get here around the 5th of Jan. I bought a 2-post lift and had it shipped to Texarkana Texas. I paid up-front for it. It stayed on my trailer for over a week before I could unload it because of all the rain. I just built a new shop and could not get it in . When I unpacked it finally ,there were parts missing that were really noticeable like the fittings for the hoses but there were no parts manual with it to check all the other parts. Anyway I talked to the parts man and he said I would have to get the part numbers.I told him I don" have a manual. this was right after I finally got it in my shop. I e-mailed them for a parts manual and found other parts Missing. I talked to them again about the parts and he said I would have to pay for them because I waited to long. I told him there was no manual with it and he said they always email a manual when it is shipped. I personally had to email them for it after I finally unloaded it.
