20+ years ago I heard neighbors talking outside my home about this amazing doctor, someone they…read moretruly trusted. When I asked the name of this doctor...they said Dr Franklin Lowe. I made an appointment that week and have never looked back. Dr Lowe is a compassionate, caring, person...not just an MD. When I first went to him the wait time was horrible, but since he is now concierge there is generally almost no wait time. His staff takes you back and does a pre-screen so that the time with Dr Lowe is on point. A word about his staff....they are excellent. They treat you like family and know you as an individual, not just a name on a file. Both my husband and I see Dr Lowe, love and respect him..... he is family to us. And has seen us through many crisis - some quiet serious with excellent results. His referrals to other doctors are impeccable..... the very best. To sum it up ......I'm having PT for a hip replacements and when I mentioned the name of my surgeon and Dr Lowe (my GP), the therapist said...."you've got the best", this is also what I'm told when ever I mention Dr Lowe's name in the local medical community. I received a collections notice for a Zio Monitor worn in November 2024 by a different patient. Dr…read more Shandling's office registered the device under my information with iRhythm technologies even though I had not been seen in that office since 2010. As I had moved out of the area 15 years prior, I never received any bill and the bill was sent to collections. It took multiple phone calls over several days to get anyone to help look into this case. Finally, the billing manager at Dr. Shandling's office admitted that someone entered my information instead of the correct patient's information so I was being billed for the service that patient received. I don't understand how this could have happened as I had not visited that office for 15 years, my chart should have been archived. There was no mention of how this happened or what would be done to prevent it from happening again. I'd think twice about coming here as mixing patient information is a serious concern and there were no/insufficient checks in place to ensure the correct information was entered. UPDATE: As of 05/21/2025, the balance from the collections company is still showing. Additionally, Dr. Shandling's office forwarded an email that inadvertently revealed the other patient's information including date of service, prescription number, device serial number, patient name, patient DOB, patient's insurance company, and patient's insurance ID number. This is a HIPAA violation. I have yet to receive confirmation that all records have been amended and reflect the correct information.

I used to go to him for my bi-annual physical, but he started billing an extra $99 over the $25 co-pay to deal with them. First real concern, I suffered kidney stones, he couldn't do anything but refer me to a urologist. Feel free to read that review. It was a really good referral... NOT! Then, the last time I went in for an ongoing dermatological concern he ordered some labs, oddly enough it seems he padded the labs, as I can think of no reason for him to run a battery of STD tests, HIV/AIDS, Hep, and others. I questioned this as I knew that I was negative for them for I am chaste. Anyway, so for the tests that were 'useful' they turned out not to be so useful. When I went to the dermatologist (separate review), she wanted to see the labs. So on her stationery they faxed a request to his office... I am waiting... she comes in about 10 minutes later with the results... a fax came back with my last name scrawled on it, the doctors stamp in the middle of the page, followed by "No records on file" I was shocked. I called on my cell phone and went off on the guy that happened to answer the phone, I was a royal a$$, but 30 seconds later I heard the fax machine ring and she came in with several pages of lab results. I spoke of usefulness, I am by no means a medical professional, nor do I understand what most of these results mean, but I can say that she said they were useless and unrelated to my concern, and ordered another battery of labs. Sorry, got off on a secant, so when said labs came in they said to come in to the office for an appointment. So I did, I took off work early and raced down to his office to make the appointment they assigned. I got there like 15 minutes late, because of traffic. I checked in, they didn't know why I was there... So the girl went in the back, got the results, the original of the same page I received in the mail, which said everything was normal AND to be sure and keep the appointment. So she hands me the paper and proudly announces that she saved me the $25 co-pay. I asked, that's it? she went back and asked Dr Davis then came back with the report, he says you are healthier than he is. Have a nice night. So after leaving work early, rushing, and fighting traffic to get there I get handed the same piece of paper I am holding a copy of. Nothing addressed about any of the concerns I had, nothing else about the tests, nothing whatsoever.

I spent a lot of time reading reviews online on United HealthCare's website. I particularly liked that Dr. Pepitone studied at Rush University, I also really liked that he is not a brand new/ very young Dr. because this translates to him having many years of experience which translates to a benefit for (us) his patients. Both my fiancé and I had really a good experience with Dr. Pepitone and the rest of the staff at Healthcare Partners. I arrived 15 minutes early to fill out the new patient paper work. The nurse called me back 5 minutes before my scheduled appointment time to weigh me and get my vitals. Dr. Pepitone saw me a few minutes after that (right on time). He listened carefully to my health history and made notes while we were talking. He asked me questions to get an idea of my overall health. I have had a chronic health condition for the last 10 years and while going through my list of current medications Dr. Pepitone pointed out that the steroid nose spray ( Flonase) that I was currently taking could be contributing to this on going issue. I was so surprised to hear this, considering that all my other physicians had never made that connection or mentioned the serious side effects of this steroid nose spray to me. (I had been taking Flonase daily for the last 6 years) Dr. Pepitone prescribed a non steroid nose spray for my servere allergies. My overall impression of Dr. Pepitone is that he is a friendly, knowledgeable and caring physician with a very pleasant upbeat demeanor. After my appointment I met with the patient liaison who explained the benefits of Health Care Partners Medical Group. She explained how to sign up for the patient portal and how this platform gives patients direct access to email their Dr. and receive their results. She also gave me some literature with useful information like the nearest urgent care to our home. She asked how my appointment went and if I had any additional questions or concerns. She explained where I could go to get my labs ( blood work) done. She also told me that they have in office phlebotomists should I prefer to have my blood drawn in the office. My degree is in microbiology and I have worked in the Healthcare/ medical field for over 12 years for big companies like Labcorp and Banner Health. Because of my career experience I have a thorough understanding of what good patient care is and how a good medical practice should operate. My experience with Dr. Pepitone was excellent and I would definitely recommend him and Healthcare Partners Medical Group.

The procedure went ok, quite painful, but everything seemed to go as planned. Later that day and for the following week, I was in extreme pain - unable to walk. I called the doctors office three times to leave a message and see if there was something wrong as this was not normal. Each time, my messages were left unanswered - no doctor to respond to my inquiries. I ended up going to Urgent Care for assistance to address the excruitating pain. When I finally was able to speak to someone, it was the front desk who provided me some advise (same that was on my handout - she was not a medical professional, so I didn't have any help in that conversation). I provided the feedback to Dr. ElKhoury- Front desk staff unprofessional, no follow-up at a very vulnerable time in the process and unfortunate. I've since found other Pain Management doctors in OC that have been much better - but I wish, pain management was more than just spinal shots and more thorough review of options.
