I cannot express enough how rare it is to find a hairdresser like Shamsi…read more The effortless way she cuts and styles hair is impressive and speaks to her decades of experience. She also really understands what works for your face and hair, and can seemingly cut in any style. A small thing I appreciated was also how gentle she was in how she brushed and washed my fine hair. It speaks to her warm and gentle approach. In general she knows how to make you feel comfortable but also not overwhelm you. I had grown my hair out a little because I new I wanted to change my style a bit, but not too drastically. I brought in several pics as reference, and we discussed options. Honestly, I wanted kind of a mix of styles that allowed some flexibility. Topher is a great listener, and he asked for clarification when needed. I'm a woman, and I have had quite short hair most of my life. It's hard to convince some stylists/barbers to cut short enough, and that I do not want a girly-girl kind of cut. Those are great for other people, just not me. I like a more masculine cut. Online scheduling was easy, and I was able to get a cut on relatively short notice. The shop's vibe is relaxed, welcoming, and unpretentious. My only complaint/suggestion is that I wish there had been more pics of each barber's work, and a bio on the website &/or on their IG account. Lucky for me, the luck of the draw was in my favor when I chose an appointment with Topher.
