I had tried a lot of things to ease my troubles but I couldn't but nothing seemed to really work. So I called and made an appointment. From day one I was very comfortable with Anna. She is quite easy to talk to and connect with. Without getting into too much details (every person is different) I felt things start to shift for me, even in those first few sessions. Anna is a talented therapist that listened, asked poignant questions, and really helped me to step back and find the answers to my issues with me. She helped me stand up and fight back! I am forever grateful to her and her practice. She is awesome. I worked with Anna for about 3 years....and now that our sessions are done I feel like I have a huge array of tools to deal with anything that challenges me from here on out. THANK YOU ANNA! Take care.

Therapy can help us connect with what feels painful, develop greater self-compassion, and bring more mindfulness to our inner states so that we expand our sense of choice. I also love to work with couples. Relationships often become a tangle of push-pull and competing needs. However, there are usually discernible patterns to the conflicts that can be gently sorted for more harmony in the relationship. Artists, writers, entrepreneurs, and anyone who has hit their inner "ceiling" are also clients that I deeply enjoy working with.

Reviewing a behavioral health joint might be too revealing for a public forum. Good thing I have no…read moreshame. I've been going to this clinic for PTSD and chronic severe insomnia since around 2014. All of my Portland-based experience with similar clinics = good campfire stories for people who need something to scream about, but not much help. Similarly, my experience with medication vacilates between Jessie Spano from Saved by the Bell screaming, "I'm so excited!" and the Goodbye Horses scene from Silence of the Lambs. Again, not much help, decent enough stories. That having been said: I love Deanna Barney Cain. She closely examines everything you're currently taking for every real or imagined ailment, and your individual bushel basket of symptoms, and then boils this all down to a formula for positive mental health. Instead of the late 90s mantra of, "Doesn't work? Prescribe MORE!" Deanna seems to really think about an individualized plan, and the importance of not feeling SOMA'd into submission. And friends, this NP put me to sleep; I don't even respond to sleeping pills. She put me to sleep, without compromising my ability to get up the next day, or sending me into some new sloth-informed state of depression. She's a wizard, to the point where anytime someone reports even passing discomfort, I race to state, "Well you should see my doctor..." No one ever listens to this recommendation, but that's because everyone else is wrong. I also see Kathryn Hoover for EMDR. Here's my recent experience with therapists: making them cry, using my dreams for a Jungian conference (without permission), and displaying ridiculous facial reveals that map whatever I'm saying to the point they want to hear. Yawn. Thanks for nothing (except stories). EMDR work with Kathryn is miserable and challenging, but I'd rather be miserable for an hour a week and see progress every day that follows, than congratulate myself for manipulating a therapist once a week, for the lulz. She's open to my humor without letting me use it as an escape hatch, and keeps the sessions focused so that therapy has a beginning, a middle, and an end. This style probably isn't for everyone, but it's the only good option for me, and I can see the results in the things I do. Thanks to this clinic I can focus more time and energy on fictional stories that pay me, instead of nonfiction horror stories that I pay for.

Infested with ants to the point where they're in your hair when you wake up, infested in your clothes. Their doctors get you put on all sorts of different medications that you don't need. You get one tiny little rec area and an hour outside per day, and no free time, they ram you through the same classes back to back every single day without any breaks except for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff are indifferent to anything, some were alright though, that's not just a blanket statement. Plexiglass windows to prevent you from going outside at all except for the bogus 1 hour out. I'm honestly extremely suprised this place hasn't been shut down already. Not even close to comparable to the other treatment centers I've been to. The classes are a bunch of irrelevant bullshit that doesn't even pertain to anything you're having issues with in your life. Horrible experience. It seems they moved locations, the one I went to was in Gladstone, Oregon. Regardless of location, the practices of this place are horrible. Some of the girls there were giving themselves massive eraser burns, one shredded her arms from shoulder to wrist with a screw. It was a sad excuse of a treatment center, with no actual attempts to really rehabilitate the kids going there. Just a total money grab. If you're thinking of sending your child here, I would seriously think again and find a better place to send them. Absolute Shit show of a facility. There was one girl there who was in foster care, and she had been there for like 187 days because of god knows why, instead of the normal 28 day stay. Terrible. I wonder about her mental health and how she copes with it now that she's older. That's all I have to say. Garbage facility.

One thing I really liked is that he had experienced the pain of being with a borderline personality disordered person himself, but really seemed to have healed and was really great at his own self work. He always offered me tea or water when I got there, & gave me tissues when I needed to cry, which was very much needed & appreciated. Sometimes the little things make all the difference in the world. He was able to empathize as well as encourage me to think rationally about so many situations. A master at breaking things down, he is truly the best of the best. Aaron, if you're reading this, I love you brother. Thank you so much for the support through the hardest times in my life. I'm feeling a power & energy like I've never felt. I've seen so many therapists and psychiatrists throughout my life, and Aaron has helped me more than the rest of them combined. My quality of life has gotten better than I ever thought it could have ever gotten. COVID was an awful time for almost everyone, but I feel so incredibly lucky that I was able to work with Aaron during the hard times. I've never had a more consistent positive experience during the rough patches of life. Looking back at my life before I started seeing Aaron makes me shudder; I can't stress enough how much better my life has gotten through my work with him. I will continue to recommend him to anyone who is struggling and genuinely wants to get better.
