As a former resident of Natchez Landing please BEWARE! It is all true! If the raccoons do not get you, the bad surrounding neighborhood will. The raccoons are big as dogs and they come at you multiple one at a time. At night it sounds like a horror film as they fight the local cats. They also like to stop you from entering the apartment complex and have no reservation about standing their ground. As far as the bad neighborhood, cops are constantly stopping cars and people all hours of the night. A friend of mine got held at gun point right at the end of the street a few years back while living in the apartment complex across the street. They took his truck, all his groceries and his family's Christmas gifts with them. First lake will never tell you about the crime rate in that neighborhood. You could ask the manager of the property, but they have a turnover rate around 3-6 months, so they wouldn't know anything about it. The increase in rent for a single bedroom apartment has nearly doubled since Katrina, ranging close to a $1000 a month and it just keeps getting higher each time you sign a new lease. Just imagine paying PREMIUM RENT FOR LOW INCOME HOUSING. Spray paint all over the stairs, trash and furniture left by a horrendously dirty and smelly dumpster for weeks on end, and a parking lot that if you come home late, good luck finding a place to park. The apartments are seriously outdated! The appliances look like something out of the forties and perform as such. They couldn't even add insulation into the walls or have air-conditioners with the correct tonnage to cool such a small place. That allowed my air-conditioner to run constantly, never shutting off. The lowest temperature my apartment would get at night during the summer months was 75! Thank god for Entergy, through levelized billing, still for a very small one-bedroom apartment my energy bill was ridiculously high (In the $100 range) throughout the whole year. First Lake stated that, that is the way it is, and they could not do anything about it. It wasn't only me that had problems with First Lake and their air conditioning units. There was another resident renting in another one of First Lake's run-down locations that took pictures of himself on Houma Blvd in a speedo holding a sign saying, "Honk if you have AC." He also took pictures of himself in his apartment refrigerator and posted it all on social media all to have First Lake provide him with air-conditioning. First Lake just blocked him from their social media accounts covering up their horrible housing. You can still find his images if you look up First lake speedo air-conditioner and look at the image page. They did however update the sink and shower nozzle to new "greener" nozzles. These nozzles restricted the flow of water so much that simple tasks such as washing your hands completely was near impossible. It was harder to take a shower. It is a way for them to save money as it is the only thing that they claim not to charge you for, but they do, in the extra grounds fee or whatever they call it in the lease. One would ask why I would stay at a place like this for so long? Truth is, I was suckered as many others, and after moving into a third-floor apartment, moving out is not the easiest of chores. Especially since the apartments are very unfriendly to moving in or out of. As soon as I started dating though it was imperative that I vacated the apartment as I was embarrassed where I lived and, I worried about her safety when she was there alone. Soon after, I broke my lease and was charged a one full month's rent to do so as stated in the fine print in the lease. Before I left, I did a walk through with the "new" property manager and ask him if there was anything that I needed to fix before leaving. The manager stated no, and that all the minor repairs are taken out of the next tenant's move in fee. Come to find out, with no notice at all that it was all a lie. When I received my deposit back from First Lake, $60 was taken for sheet-rock damage and $5 was taken for taking pictures of said sheet rock damage. Never was I consulted on the damage or were the pictures ever shown to me. The damage supposedly was where I hung my pictures on the walls. I could have easily fixed the holes with a three-dollar tub of putty if only they were truthful about fixing the items before I left. This was the straw that broke the camel's back, and this is exactly why I am writing this detailed complaint. First, I started with the BBB and filed a complaint with them, which didn't even seem to concern First Lake. Come to find out that First Lake has a ONE-STAR RATING with the BBB when it comes to customer complaints. Don't take my word for it, read what others have commented on and how First Lake responds to such complaints. Pay very close attention to how First Lake happily says sorry and mentions a few kind words to try and discredit the complaint but never solves the issues. read more

I moved in during 1988, and have been here ever since. When I moved in, Natchez Landing was an "adult community" which did not allow children (that policy has since been changed), West Napoleon was not a through street as it is today, there were laundry rooms with coin machines, and the apartments had patios (first floor) and balconies (second and third floors). Each apartment now has a washer/dryer included, and the patios/balconies have been enclosed and are now very attractive sunrooms, a better use of space, and a nice spot for a computer desk or houseplant collection. In Katrina, the complex did not flood (I know--I am on the first floor), and electric service was restored in less than a week. I've always had maintenance requests resolved promptly--the manager and maintenance staff are present each wiorkday, and one of the maintenance staff resides here. I regard the complex as safe. The atrium doors are locked after hours, and the parking areas are well lighted. Most apartments have their front doors on atriums, making for less noise, safety, and savings on heating and air conditioning. The complex is within easy walking distance of the Clearview bus line, as well as near delis, restaurants and bars. The Clearview bus line passes shopping areas, supermarkets, and East Jefferson Hospital. The complex does not have elevators, but that may not be a consideration for you. 25 years ago I might have rented a third floor apartment. Right now, I am glad I didn't. read more

We have been residents at Natchez Landing for almost a year now. There is nothing I can say bad bout this place. I found out I was moving here with a job relocation with a 2 weeks notice. Looking at apartment review websites in the area, Natchez Landing consistently had the best reviews. The Atrium is a nice addition, its always clean and beautiful. The groundskeepers are consistently work to maintain the upkeep. For added security the main doors lock at 5:00pm to access the apartments which is very nice, you never have to worry about unwanted people roaming around the complex. The staff is very very friendly, we all know things happen in apartments and house and the maintenance usually makes what little repairs we've needed in a timely fashion. I really can't say anything bad about Natchez Landing. I would recommend this complex to anyone looking for a beautiful, friendly, affordable place to live. read more

Hi, I'm Barbette and I have been living at Natchez Landing for about 8 months come June 2014. My kids & I are very happy here, we enjoy the quiet, friendly atmosphere. Management is very nice & attentive to your needs, no problems with getting things repaired when needed, of course I have not experienced much need for maintenance since moving here only on one occasion thus far but there response time was great! My kids are really enjoying their first summer here especially with the pool that is very well kept along with the grounds, luv the oasis feel of the complex & the smell of cleanliness in our living area especially when we walk out of our apartment. I just love the overall friendliness of the place. We worried about our transitioning to an apartment due to selling our home, thanks to Natchez Landing the transition was wonderful. I have lived at Natchez for two years and I could not be happier here. The apartments are nice and include a washer and dryer which is the ultimate convenience in apartment living. Staff does a great job keeping the property and grounds clean and well maintained. Donna is the best apartment manager I've ever had - she cares about the residents as people rather than rent checks and she is always doing something to add a little personal touch to the community. Everyone is friendly and the building is quiet and secure and there is always parking to be found. And the atrium is an instant mood elevator every time I walk in the door. I have lived in Natchez Landing for three years and I love it. I have no plans on moving in the near future. I feel safe living here. Leslie, the apartment manager, is always kind and professional, and she is very friendly. She is always going out of her way to help her residents. I very rarely have an issue, but when I do, it is fixed correctly the first time and there is no delay. The complex is always clean, the staff is friendly and courteous, and everyone who lives here is very friendly. I also absolutely LOVE having a washer and dryer inside my apartment! I would 100% recommend living in this community. The property manager, Ms. Donna, is the most caring and attentive manager that I have ever experienced in all of my years of renting. The property is beautiful, the staff is amazing at keeping everything up and fulfilling maintenance requests within one business day. VERY SAFE. The two atrium buildings are locked from the outside, and the outside of the complex is well lit. Always parking!!!! Centrally located too, so interstate travel is quick!!!! My wife and I have lived at Natchez Landing for over a year but it really has been a good experience. There have been maintenance problems with our apartment, but we have always had them fixed in a timely manner. The on-site manager has been especially helpful and friendly. The Atirum in the aprtment complex is especially beautiful and the 1 bedroom we live in is spacious, but its the quality of the staff that has convinced us to stay another year. Problems will always exist at apartments, but how and when they are fixed makes a difference. read more

I've been living at Natchez Landing Apts for about 8 months now, and I love it. My apartment overlooks the pool so even though I'm not in the atrium, I have a great view. The atrium is gorgeous. I did a lot of research (and I mean A LOT) and Natchez Landing had the cheapest rent. I think there is a washer and dryer in every apartment. Location is key! It is very close to I-10, but not too close. I never have trouble finding parking spots. The staff is very nice and attentive. I'm very happy I chose Natchez Landing. read more

My fiance and I have been living at Natchez Landing since May 10th 2013 and we love it. We wanted to renew the lease for this year, and they have an option for your lease to automatically renew itself if you wish. So we didn't have to do anything it was great. The office and grounds staff is amazing and very kind. The grounds are always clean and the noise level is very low. The pool is lovely, and they allow pets. I have NEVER been so happy in an apartment - I LOVE living at Natchez Landing. I LOVE the bay window which I've enjoyed purchasing suncatchers, adding even more color and beauty to the bay window area. The management is always nice, friendly, helpful and quick! It has an atrium in the middle of the complex, which makes it feel like a hotel. The groundskeeper does a wonderful job at keeping the complex clean. The location is great.
