I just moved to the area and was looking for a new salon to go to. This is my second salon so far. the first wasn't so great and did a poor job on my set of acrylics. This salon was able to soak off that set while also preserving my nails and did a fantastic job on my gel manicure. i HIGHLY recommend coming here:) read more

I have been a loyal customer of this salon for several years, which makes writing this review extremely disappointing. I came in for a pedicure, manicure, and wax appointment. During removal of remaining gel product, the technician repeatedly used the drill to grind away the leftover gel rather than soaking and dissolving it. As he continued, the drill became increasingly hot and began burning my nail area. I told him the drill was becoming too hot and hurting me. Instead of stopping, checking my nail, or adjusting his technique, he dismissed my concern and stated, "It's not even powerful," then continued drilling. The process continued despite my complaints, and there were multiple instances where the drill came into contact with my skin. The experience was painful, careless, and completely lacking in sensitivity to what I was saying. Because of how I was treated, I made the decision not to continue with the manicure or wax service. When I went to the front desk and explained that I would not be moving forward because of the technician's treatment and behavior, the technician came to the front and loudly asked, "So you're not getting the wax?" After I said no, he proceeded to curse at me in Mandarin. What is unfortunate is that there seemed to be an assumption that no one would understand what was being said. Some people do understand Mandarin. I did. The comments were inappropriate, disrespectful, and entirely unprofessional. I chose not to argue, raise my voice, or create a scene because I refuse to respond to disrespect with more disrespect. I simply left. What concerns me most is not only the verbal treatment afterward, but the fact that a customer expressed pain during a service and was ignored. My finger is still hurting from the excessive use of the drill, and I am monitoring the situation closely. After years of supporting this business, this experience ended that relationship for me. I will not be returning, and I strongly encourage management to address both customer treatment and service practices before someone else has a similar experience. read more

I couldn't get to the place I normally go to, so I went to Natalie's as a walk in. I did expect to wait, but I waited for an hour. The fella that did my pedicure and manicure gave me the chills. He would try to talk to me in this higher pitched voice and he'd talk to his coworkers in a lower voice. It was creepy. He used the Dremel tool on my toes and I asked him to be careful because I have thin nails. My toe still hurts from it. He placed very hot towels (and very stained) on my legs. I asked him to take them off and he waved it and put them back on. My legs were pink when he finally took them off. I reminded him that I had thin nails when he did my manicure. He either didn't understand or didn't listen. He took my length and gave me square nails. He should have asked what shape and if I wanted them trimmed. He put shiny sprinkles on my nails which looks awful. He also put a very hot towel on my hands. I was honestly too scared to say much to him. I used to go to this shop two years ago and was very pleased which is why I went back. It's not the same. It's dirty, unprofessional, and downright scary. I won't be back. read more

I was looking for a new nail salon and this was recommended on the local Facebook site. I made an appt for a full set with gel polish with Katie. My appt. was at 1:30 on Saturday and I got there a little more than 10 minutes early. When I arrived, the receptionist alert the tech I was there. I sat in the chair for 10 minutes waiting for her. When she finally arrived, she just said, "what you want done?" She was not friendly, didn't seem to care that I was a new client. I showed her a picture of a French manicure with a silver tip. No artwork. She scrunched her face up and stared at the picture for longer than a few moments and said it's blurry. Then shook her head and sat down like this was going to be a chore. She did not make me feel welcome or that she wanted to do my nails, so I told her that I did not want her to do my nails and left the shop. I could hear her laughing behind me. It was a terrible first experience and I will NEVER be back or recommend them. Terrible service. Must not need the business. read more

I come here only for pedicures. The last time I came, I didn't even get to soak my feet, the lady just kept telling me to put my feet up on the pedestals, she looked at my calluses and shook her head. I spend a lot of time wearing sandals and participating in outdoor activities so of course I'm going to have calluses.... They ALWAYS insist on shaving your nails down and ALWAYS press you to do gel. Gel is not good for nails and can lead to infections. I had to tell her 4 times , regular nail polish. I wanted a French tip pedicure, she did okay but the lines were wavy and my toe nails weren't filed down enough or evenly. I ended up just going home and fixing it myself. Don't waste your money here, I've always been disappointed read more

just had a pedicure, the technition was rude and talking crap with another tech about me!! Did a terrible job on my feet! I will need to exfoliate my feet myself ! The tech doing another girl's pedicure next t me was so unprofessional also! instead of wrapping the towels around her calf, she took the hot towels and just threw them over her leg legs, and they were hanging. She had no care to what she was doing at all. Do not go get any type of nail service at will regret it. You are wasting your time and money. read more

The past two gel pedicures, I noticed the gel was not being pre-soaked and a dremel only was used. It was asserted that the sanding was only light to remove polish...No, that was not true; my toenails were drastically thinned and it's obvious with the difference in new growth. I like to support local business but will not go back. They were willing to do this only for the sake of saving a few minutes...Instead, they've now lost a customer permanently. read more

The manicurist that I got named Son was just downright disrespectful... I will never go back! My nails look like crap and he had a tremendous attitude just because I asked him if that was the real color of the dip because it didn't look like it the color that I picked in the book! his response was to say " oh my God" and then speak Vietnamese to the other manicurist. When he called another female manicurist over she gave me a ridiculous explanation, saying the colors were only similar to in the book!!! Well, that's certainly the first time that I've heard the colors are only similar!!! When you first entered the salon there's a lot of glam and glitz and it feels like it's going to be a nice vibe and a great experience! Then you see the yucky dirty pink waiting area chairs Which is the initial turn off and then dealing with poor service and rudeness is the final blow! Makes me think about the saying, " all that glitters is not gold ". I paid $90 with 20%tip for a dip manicure with bling that are clunky and ugly. My friend said that certainly doesn't look like what you usually get. So my advice is spend your money where you're appreciated and people are pleasant. I am choosing one of the other places around Charles Town and I'm sure that they will appreciate a happy customer is grateful that tips well and enjoys the experience! read more

Update: only day 2 and a nail broke. Truly poor quality job. So I ended up here because my regular salon was shutdown for Covid. I called and got an appointment for the next day. Well.....let's just say, there's a reason a place has openings. The tech handled me roughly, pulling and twisting fingers. Whenever I wanted to talk to her she got annoyed. She talked on the phone practically through an entire acrylic service and also through the pedi. She was happy though to push me into getting more than what I came in here for. I mean why would I want candy canes on my nails? What am I, 12?! She also wanted me to get a full set, when all I needed was filled in. She says, you come back right away!! You get full set! My nails look good but I am worried about not letting them cure long enough. She was rushing rushing. Will update if they fall off....FYI: I did threaten during the service to walk out. The pedi....super hot towel! When I said it was hot, she says, "she complain too much..!" The service went on without a hitch, mainly bc I didn't speak. After all services were complete, she says "You go over there!" Check out the pic of my heel, post pedi. Beautiful right! read more

Having been a patron to Natalie's since 2020, I have seen the transformation! They have a gorgeous newly renovated salon with new management and it is worth a visit! I have found an excellent manicurist and she has consistently given me perfect nails for months. The staff have been friendly, accommodating, and helpful! I recently brought in my disabled mother-in-law for a full service pampering and they took amazing care of her! They adjusted and gave her everything she needed despite having healing injuries to her toes and arm from recent surgeries. I can't thank them enough for making it a special memory for us both. Make an appointment advance and get to know a good manicurist. Treat people with respect and you get it in return. And I have such a nice place to go get my nails, and brows done! read more

I have gone there for 2+ years. Service has drastically declined. I had my nails done with dip a 9 days ago. Three days after getting them done they started chipping off. I went back and they gave a lot of attitude fixing three nails even though they said they would fix for free if less than a week. Even though I got them fix I have had three more nails corners chip off. Terrible, don't go. read more

This was my first time coming in to get my nails done after the remodel. I'll admit, the vibe is so nice, but oh my gosh, the services... not the best. i went in to get birthday nails and a week later, my pointer finger acrylic FLEW OFF while i was playing a CARD GAME. I was so disappointed but had the time to immediately go in to get it fixed. I had a different nail artist this time and everything. What i thought would be a $30 fix because it was just to fix one nail and change the color ended up being another $60 i had to pay and they treated it like a WHOLE NEW SET. I couldn't just say no because they told me how much it would be when i got to the lady who had the tablet, so i had to pay the whole price. i didn't even get a new design, i just got plain blue (see picture) now, another week has gone by and here we are, once again, another nail broke. I have NEVER had a nail broke on me from any other nail salon, only Natalie's Nails. It's safe to say i am NEVER going back. I spent $120 plus tips both time just to have a nail break a week later making me take them off. DO NOT come here. it's a waste of money and time. I am highly disappointed and i really wish i could get my money back because this is ridiculous. Natalie, do something. Down below is a picture of the nail that just broke. I'm not even going to go in to pay to have them do something to it, because knowing them, they will charge me another $50 for just taking them off and putting nail polish on. They are too expensive for what they are. I get they have to make up for the lost revenue but this is ridiculous. if you want to up the price, up the quality and service. Also, an additional $10 to clean up your cuticles?!?! That's usually free EVERYWHERE ELSE. Never. Coming. Back. You shouldn't either. read more

My first time there was yesterday. I made an appointment, online, for 12:45 PM. I arrived about four minutes late, but no one asked me who I was when I walked in even though I stated I had an appointment. They sat me at a pedicure station to wait. I waited a FULL 50 minutes (yes, almost an hour) before someone came and started my pedicure. She was curt, and clearly not in a very good mood. She made multiple combative remarks (also criticisms), completely unprovoked. I'm a quiet person and was a little shocked. In short, don't make an appointment. Appointments don't matter and there's no communication/transparency around waiting times. I might have overlooked that since it was a Saturday (I've been going to nail salons for a couple of decades, and this is clearly an unorganized one) but on top of that, they are rude. Definitely will not be going back even though they are across route 9 from me. read more

I went there 4 times in 2 months 3 out of the 4 times my nails were different shapes and different lengths. It's a beautiful place though.

I have to give a shout to Natalie's Nails; it has been months since my last pedicure, and my hobbit feet were turning into some mutation out of a Sci Fi novel. Of course, I blame it all on Virginia's Covid-19 lockdown, which was why I had to travel 90 minutes to find a nail oasis like Natalie's Nails to bring a little civilization back to my feet. I was thoroughly impressed with the shop's cleanliness and safety precautions: everyone was wearing a mask, social distanced, and scheduled by appointment only...Dr. Fauci would be proud. My nail technician Misty did a fantastic job, taking my from the brink of a foot fiasco and bringing me back to humanity. Of the hundreds of foot treatments that I've had, my Natalie's experience was one of the best. In fact, if I didn't live so far away, I would make this my regular shop for some nail perfection. read more

I went here for acrylics and it was the most painful experience I've ever had getting them. When the guy filed my nails I thought he was about to rip them off. They also tore the skin where my cuticles were and I had tiny scabs for over a week. They didn't look that bad but the pain itself was not worth it. I've had slight pain getting them done at other places but never at one like this. The nails were also very thick on the ends and weren't thinned out. Very disappointing as I used to here a lot before I moved out of town. read more

My first visit was a week ago and the tech "Nina" listened to what I asked for and shaped my full set pretty well. They turned out bulky & sloppy around the cuticles. Today a week later one of the nails collapsed ( wet polish) under last layer. I returned to get my issues fixed. It was an awkward conversation but I want what I want... While I was getting them done another customer was talking about nonsense like, drinking, having a pool and pool boys. Nina replied about how yucky it would be to have a "pool boy" and then went on to say how she doesn't want a "Eduardo, Manuel, or Hector" as her pool boy. As if only hidpanics are "pool boys" She repeated the hispanic names over & over and was loud. She was laughing it up and I found no humor in the racist comment. Needless to say the customer & my tech's conversation was off putting and is just not the environment I want to sit for any amt of time to listen to. Nina fixed my issues adequately but I was uncomfortable. I will NOT be returning. Very unprofessional & off putting. $25.00 today listening to these comments. read more

Update...after not being able to get in to see my nail technician (for several weeks) I reluctantly decided to try Natalie's again. I walked in and I was SHOCKED by the changes. They now have 1-2 people to greet customers and make sure things are running on schedule. I've now been back 3 times (I did make an appointment each time) and I'm always seated right away. There are a LOT of nail technicians working here and they seem to have an efficient system now. I made my 4th appointment for next week and I plan to keep coming back as long as everything continues to run smoothly. I had my eyebrows done and they looked awful. I didn't really notice until I was out in my car. They were so uneven. One was really thin and the other was not (I also specially asked not to make them thin) so I had to tweeze the other one to even them up and now both my eyebrows look like they time warped to 1995. Way too thin. Also, I had a pedicure and I wore pants that were too tight in the legs to push up far. I didn't expect a leg massage but he didn't massage my feet at all. Ive been going to the same nail salon in frederick for 5 years now getting acrylics. I have recently run into issues with that salon and was interested in jumping ship. I found this salon on google and decided to give it a try. I needed my acrylics soaked off and redone and a gel pedicure. The pedicure itself was great. My only issue is if you're going to bring clients back to the pedicure chair to wait, you should fill up the bowl and allow them to soak their feet while waiting. I had to wait for the pedicure barefoot in an empty soak tub. (awkward) The main issue however, is the tech assigned to do my nails (Tammy) TORE my acrylics off with a nail tip and finger nail clippers (instead of soaking them) and it was literally so painful! I also thought the staff was a bit rude during my experience. I ended up getting dip ombré and they look good, but my nails are sore from the old acrylics being ripped off by hand. In addition, when asked for her name, the tech almost didn't want to give it to me and told me "anybody can do the dip ok" as if she wasn't interested in me making an appointment specifically with her. (not that I was going to, I just like to know peoples names.) She rushed through the entire experience. I paid 107 dollars for the experience, I guess I just expected more. I do like the ombré on the nails, so I haven't decided if I will be back yet or not. We will see. read more
