Cannot say enough positive about my experience with Strathmore! First, let's start with the…read moreinitial call. I had worked with another HVAC company to help diagnose the issue but unfortunately, they were short-staffed and couldn't come out. I called first thing in the morning on Friday morning. I told the man on the phone what I thought was the issue and surprisingly, he told me that he could have someone out to my house the same day within hours. Only 2 hours later (right when he said he would arrive), our technician arrived. He was very courteous and explained the issue and what needed to be done after he quickly confirmed the diagnosis that the blower motor on our HVAC would need to be replaced. Now, my friend who was an HVAC tech told me that a capacitor replacement would be the easiest to replace but a motor would take 2-4 weeks to replace because of supply chain issues. Surprisingly, the technician told me that he would order the parts and have them overnighted. The parts were in stock from his supplier and they arrived on Friday. First thing on Monday morning (they're understandably closed on Sundays) I received a call that the part had arrived and he would be over within hours to come and install them. Again, he arrived prompt and on time. He ordered an additional part for the blower just in case it was also damaged (which it was) and he ended up installing the new motor and fan and capacitor by 11am on Monday. The price was very reasonable and there were no surprises there. It was an absolute pleasure working with Strathmore and I highly recommend them for your HVAC repairs.

As noted in my original review ( I wish reviews allowed editing) the install was done professionally, the crew worked neatly, and it passed inspection no problem. This winter the new furnace operated with no issues. With this year's early heat waves the new units have been put to the test and then some. The unit that cools the upstairs portion of the house, that always struggled with our old unit, was sized perfectly and it has kept the temperature even when we hit close to 100 degrees. The other unit has worked perfectly as well, keeping the rest of the house comfortable without straining. Very pleased, to say the least.

Working with Rob Mandell was an absolutely atrocious experience. He is rude, unprofessional, does…read morenot deliver on what is promised and does an inferior job on what is and; furthermore, he is very demanding, condescending and chauvinistic. He was supposed to remodel my bathroom in a 2 weeks. Almost 6 months later, it is still not done and I am left with a mess to clean up. The toilet he installed leaked staining my ceiling. I currently have only half a shower door so, if I use it, it floods the floor. According to Rob, my shower door came in wrong twice. I waited two months for the correct frameless shower door yet he proceeded to install one which was the incorrect size (71 1/4 and not 72) ruining the tilework. After installing the incorrect size door, he demanded almost ten thousand more than what was in the initial contract to get the other side of the door cut which he said did not fit with what was installed. When I refused to pay any additional money, he walked off the job and proceeded to text me for weeks calling me names and threatening to call collections. I am left to get the half door removed and cover the holes at this point at my own expense. The original contract, including the correct entire shower door is paid for. Additionally, in the process, he scraped my bathroom floor leaving it bare so, to be fixed, I would need to have the floor completely redone. The entire job is shoddy. I have holes where he grouted and it is disintegrating and even the caulk already has holes and is turning yellow. The project was a complete disaster and waste of money. It caused me a lot of unneeded stress. I would strongly advise to not work with him.

C&C's proposals for the installation of a new HVAC system in my home were expensive, but their work…read moreappears to have been well done. Good installation work and a professional crew, but beware of the 0% financing terms specified by JCP&L. I contacted C&C Air, Plumbing & Electric because of problems I had getting in touch with the company I've been using since my old system was installed 27 years ago. Our heating and cooling had been underperforming for some time and a new unit was overdue. C&C was very responsive and presented me with 4 proposals, from Basic ($15,264) through Premium ($26,144). I didn't get competing quotes, so I can't say how the pricing compares, but I chose the Premium package featuring a Lennox 3-ton system with a variable-speed blower, S40 smart thermostat, and Aprilaire media filter. The 0% financing to $25,000 through JCP&L was a big factor in my decision to buy the system. unfortunately the final offer was $15,000 against the advertised $25,000, leaving me to cover the remaining $9000+. The required credit score wasn't disclosed up front by JCP&L. I also found out that the loan allows full payoff but does not accept partial additional principal payments. I suggest getting your financing approved and understanding the terms before scheduling the install. Knowing them, I may have chosen a less expensive system. As for the installation of the unit itself I found the head tech Justin O'Brady to be very polite, knowledgeable, and his team did a good job. He went over the system with me after the completed installation and was very thorough in his explanation of the work done and the operation of the system. The only glitch was they forgot to relight my water heater's pilot after the gas work. We found out the next morning, and I relit it myself. Overall, I was pleased with the responsiveness of C&C and the quality of the installation. The financing experience was disappointing, however, and I warn prospective customers to verify their financing arrangements before making a final decision. Time will tell how well the new system performs through the winter and summer.

My landlord decided to contact her warranty company, they sent out the most obnoxious guy who said NJNG did not know what they were talking about and he claimed he fixed it. Two days later the furnace rattled, whistled and popped. So again our heat had to be turned off. Then the warranty co had these two guys who didn't speak English, did not know where to look for the problem, and promptly said, "no good".I, in frustration went on my FB page, saw Brown's Heating, Cooling and Plumbing and wrote them explaining the situation. That SAME day, I got a response from Doug Brown who put me in touch with Paul Keator, who then came over THAT afternoon, and looked at it and agreed with NJNG....he told us we could have a new furnace in 2 days, which as of today has come true. Their quote and cost was even $1000 less than NJNG's quote. The techs came at 9am this morning, they were professional, courteous and very knowledgeable. Thank you to Doug for replying to my cry for help and for Paul and his help, and to the techs who came out today.....you all are great and you deserve an A+ rating.
