My initial instinct was to comfort my child of course. I went in for a check up and the front staff, an older female, was extremely rude. I had a change in insurance and it seems she was having trouble with the computer. The clinic didn't accept the new insurance, so I canceled the appointment and told the staff I would call to cancel a future procedure because I was unsure if I wanted to pay out of pocket for the entire thing. I called to cancel and a staff answered and as soon as I requested to cancel she hung up on me. Oh, and they also kept $300. I lived in Huntsville/Madison for 3 years and this is just another place to avoid that's been added to my list.

Lies because my children have never gotten that before! No, she felt guilty and instead of her calling to check on him after she, without any kind of numbing gel or topical anesthetic she ripped his tooth downward causing his tooth to rip his gum all the way down into his gum line of his bottom lip! But she didn't call to check on him, she called to dismiss him from her practice because she said me wiggling his tooth in the office is why she ripped his tooth out and that was unprofessional of me! Don't use this office because if she ever makes a mistake she will dismiss you for her mistake. My children have been going to her for years and the first time she makes a mistake she blames me the parent! Me and my child are both traumatized and he hasn't ate since yesterday! She is very unprofessional and needs to be dismissed from practicing since she doesn't even know how to pull teeth out when they're not ready! Now he has a huge gash in his gums and may need future dental work because of this! If I could t wiggle it out I would've left it alone and gave it time, instead knowing it was deeply rooted she ripped his gums and gave me numbing gel, a bag of gauze, tissue, and q-tips after the fact and then had the audacity to blame me when I didn't yell, curse, or anything and stayed calm! You ought to be ashamed of yourself Dr. K and I know you knew you messed up when your voice started shaking along with your hands once you saw what you had done! Instead of following up to check on him you do what you did! I'm coming after your license because no child or parent should have to experience this kind of unprofessionalism and blame!

I had a work appointment that I needed to get to by 2:30pm and let the hygienist know. She finished…read morethe kids by 2:05pm and just needed the kids checked by the dentist. Dr. Bowman finished with a young patient and then saw a friend and had lengthy personal conversation of 5 minutes with a patient/ friend. I tried to be patient but really became frustrated when the conversation was regarding their vacation to the beach. Finally I asked if the hygienist could intervene & let her know I needed her to go ahead and look at them. She attempted but Dr. Bowman passed us to go to the patients on the opposite side of us. I was told by the hygienist we were next to be seen beforehand and this was upsetting to me. I told her we would just go on because I had an appointment. The hygienist went to let her know we needed to leave again and she refused to come over and directed to get Dr. Bishop to come over to look at the kids. Dr. Bishop was quick and addressed that one of my kids needed treatment. She was kind and accommodating. Later I called back to set the follow up to have my daughters cavities filled with them and requested Dr. Bishop and was told they couldn't accommodate that because of how they saw patients. I voiced that made me consider changing dentists altogether because I did not have a good experience with Dr. Bowman and detailed briefly what happened. The receptionist said in a ugly, smarty tone, "She would be happy to send her xrays elsewhere." I said, "I am sure you would, you clearly don't care how she treated us." She said in a hateful tone, "You don't know what I am thinking." So I just rescheduled the appointment and hung up. Kelly called back to inform me that Dr. Bowman was unaware that we needed to leave for another appointment and that she would never treat someone like I described above. Then she said this was Dr. Bowman's practice and that I needed to find someone else to provide dental care. I politely agreed. I have never been asked to leave a practice, I never yelled or cussed I just stated I had a poor experience and preferred one of the other dentists going forward when scheduling my appointment. There had been no issues prior to this day. The receptionist Kelly was rude and basically told me the things I said were not true and that it didn't happen. I think if I had been the dentist and learned there was a patient issue I might would have called the patient family to seek to understand what happened and try to make it right. But instead no apology and was asked to leave because I wanted one of the other dentists to take care of our children. I didn't want to change dental facilities at that point because she needed immediate care. Initially they scheduled her 5 weeks out to fill 3 cavities. I thought that seemed a little long for dental care and kind of felt Kelly did that to get me to go elsewhere. I didn't say anything about it so she called back within an hour to request for us to find a different dentist office. I have a new dentist 5 star rated who scheduled us for a dental care appointment next . If I could communicate one thing in all of this an apology would have gone a long way from the Dentist and the receptionist could have worked to orchestrate been an advocate for this but instead was rude and a catalyst to her losing a client. I guess they do not value my business maybe because they have too many clients.

That's fine, but 2 people that had appointments after us already went in. If you skipped us, that's ok, just don't make up a BS excuse. Secondly, the parents are not allowed back if the kid is 3 or over. I get that bc I would probably baby him. But when I heard my child screaming from the waiting room and they still wouldn't let me back I was pissed. This was his first time to the dentist and nothing was explained to us. At the end we had to ask what all was done to him. They said the screaming was bc he didn't like the toothpaste. Probably true, but now my child is going to be scared of going to the dentist next time. They didn't even explain what the token was for that they gave him, I just figured it out when we were checking out. Not at all a good experience!
