YOU WILL NOT REGRET SEEING THIS TROUPE…read more Seriously - they are not only hilarious, but super fun people! High energy, while at the same time low key and intimate performances with smaller crowds. They can take literally any suggestion and make it incredible - and they will almost never go in the direction you think they will! Date night, team building, work friends night out, non work friends night out...even family night out - they try to keep it PG/PG-13, and still kill it! For real though, why are you still reading this review? Go buy your tickets to their next show!!!!

This is probably the best improv I have ever seen in my life (tied with Upright Citizen's Brigade…read morein New York City). Where as some improv shows can really be awkward with poor taste or just niche jokes (AKA: beating to death sex jokes), this group really has insanely amazing creativity. What I really like about this is that every show is tons of group participation and the stage is small, so there really is no such thing as a bad show. Oh, yes and they always take advantage of the opportunity to add some Nashville flair in it (AKA: local knowledge), just to give it a home town touch. Trust me, it is worth every penny of the 10 dollar ticket (got it, in LA there are 3 dollar improv shows... but this is better than them all!).

Everyone gets to participate from beginning to end. There was a feeling of mystery in the air from the moment we got there. My friends and I had a blast trying to figure out who the killer was. Turns out it was one of the people that was sitting at our table. LOL! And he didn't even know it was him because they didn't tell him. LOL! According to one of the actors (I believe his name was Jim), they not only do public ticketed shows but also private shows where they come to you. They can even perform at your house! New family bucket list item!!!! I would give the experience 5+ stars.

I ended up as one of the suspects, so I got to talk to a bunch of other groups. The clue binders for suspects are separated into different sections to prevent you from accidentally revealing too much too soon, and the instructions for suspects was very clear. The food was disappointing, especially for being at the Kimpton. One of the 3 entree options we had pre-ordered wasn't available, which was okay. I think people should be notified in advance that the Kimpton's location is a rooftop-- again, it worked out well for my group, but we might have dressed differently for the high winds.

I recently came here to see the new Dolly Parton musical, and WOW, this place is stunning!…read more I could not believe I was on a college campus. The Fisher Center is probably one of the prettiest theaters I have ever been inside. It has four tiers of seating, and even up at the top tier the views are still spectacular! The lobby looks like you have walked into an art museum, and even had an area when you walked in that they were able to make a mini Dolly museum/gift shop. The staff were so friendly and even gave me insights on the show before it started. They also have a free parking garage, which I was surprised by being in Nashville. You absolutely must come here to see a show!

Sadly, the fiasco start of the evening was so horrible and unexpected. Guests who paid high ticket prices and were all well dressed were treated very rudely by the usher staff. We went to 7 different ushers trying to find our seat. Each looked at the ticket and each gave us a different answer. When we followed their direction it took us to incorrect seating. After going up and down to various floors we finally requested a supervisor. We were finally led to the correct seats and left with a bad experience to start the evening. My suggestion is to better train your team so they can correctly guide the guests. Also the majority whom we asked were very short and argumentative with us. I was shocked to experience this. Come on, Nashville and Belmont, we can do much better than this. It should be a joy and not a harrowing experience to experience this amazing place. I do want to add that the seats I originally purchased were not granted as they were used by the celebrity hosts and we were ticketed to alternate seating which was not as good.

SAY WHAT YOU MEAN AND MEAN WHAT YOU SAY!…read more Christmas is my favorite time of year and during this time, I love the performing arts and Christmas programs So with that in mind, I searched for performances in the Nashville area. When I saw the following ad and description, I was delighted and responded immediately. Here is what I read : Motel Noel might or might not have angels, but it definitely has Christmas music. Motel Noel will leave you laughing, crying and filled with the spirit of Christmas. "Motel Noel is a funny, musical, punch to the heart," Barry Scott. Sounds exciting right? Well, the reality was quite the opposite. It did not leave us crying laughing or filled with the spirit of Christmas. It left us feeling irritated and manipulated because this play was the opposite of what was advertised. It left us just frustrated and annoyed that we wasted our time here when we could have had a better experience elsewhere. The night started off bad because when we arrived at the location listed on the ticket, it was clear that we were not at the right place as it was dark and obviously unoccupied. After walking around a bit, I called the number listed on the ticket and discovered that the incorrect address was printed on the ticket. The play was actually at the West End United Methodist church a few miles away. We arrived on time and made it to the fourth floor where the theater is located. The room is small but has a nice stage and very comfortable seating. It was the perfect venue for an intimate performance. As soon as the lights dropped, two male performers emerged and began to have a disjointed conversation. They were later joined by a third actor and it was apparent that they were all portraying patients with mental health issues. Things went down-hill from here because the actors seemed to be just having a private conversation and didn't really engage the audience at all. It was really odd and difficult to follow because there didn't seem to be any real direction. This was no musical and it did not seem to have anything to do with Christmas. It was billed as a comedic drama but the comedic aspect was obviously missing. It was more of a social commentary on mental illness than anything. I checked out right away and awoke to my husband poking me in the side. I continued to lightly snooze but found myself awakened by loud rambling dialogue and unnecessary yelling. I do believe that the yelling was a misguided attempt at capturing the audience's attention. However, it was a failed attempt and actually led to us deciding that we needed to leave during intermission. This was the first time I have (ever in life), walked out on a performance but this was absolutely the right decision for us. I don't know what their intention was in advertising this performance in such a disingenuous manner but it backfired because we will never again support this theater. West End, If you want the public to attend your performances you must advertise them honestly no matter how difficult the subject matter. False advertising is never a good idea and will only call your reputation into question. Simply say what you mean and mean what you say! #Truth in advertising!
