My wife, daughter and I stopped by this place to grab a quick, light breakfast before walking…read morearound the beautiful village of Bourton-on-the-water and it was very good. It was busy, so you could tell that it is a popular spot. It is set on the river that runs through the village so you can enjoy your breakfast while the water slowly flows by you. This area and the cafe are beautiful. The staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. Even though they were very busy, they showed no signs of being annoyed or overwhelmed. They seemed genuinely happy you were there and eager to make sure you were happy with your stay. We ordered the sausage rolls and a Cornish pastry and they were very good. I'm sure there are a lot of amazing restaurants in the place, but you would not go wrong stoping by here to grab a coffee and a bite to eat.

My wife and friends love his treats just as much as my kids did. My 39 year old son passed away in 2022. I spread some of his ashes in front of LA PATISSIER ANGLAIS. He would have love that. Beautiful farm shop and lovely restaurant attached. The customer service is also usually very good…read more I believe everything is made at the farm and their soups and stocks are my absolute favourite. They're expensive but I do feel are worth it. We had some disappointing hot cross buns recently that definitely weren't fresh. We got the individual ones and they were dry and harder than the last ones we had. The hot cross bun bites were really good though. They reminded me of energy bites, lots of dates and spices. I'd definitely recommend those! Be prepared to spend money. Even as a local I forget how much it can be sometimes. We got 2 scoops of rice/quinoa with a few raisins in from the deli and it was more than £10! At Christmas their smallest wreath was £80 and the mistletoe was £20...I literally picked up an identical sprig from the Burford garden centre for £3 the same day I saw it at Daylesford.
If you're taking a trip to the Cotswolds you best stop at Daylesford!…read more No, but seriously, it's beautiful. I'm a big fan of their farmshop and some friends and I had a little weekend here and bought all of our grocery and picnic items from here. DREAAAAMMMMM. Their food is delicious and all comes from the farm, which I love. They have a lovely variety of salads and hummus and snacks and yogurts and really really nice things. Yes, it's more expensive but you get delicious local food, and it's worth it.

All feature crisp crusts and great solid texture unlike the mushy industrial breads at the supermarkets. Their lunch sandwiches are a treat as well. And beyond the breads the pastries and cakes are great as well. Even the pizzas offered Thursday evenings are excellent. The staff are friendly as well, but it can get very busy so a wait can be expected. The bread is a bit pricier than average at about £3 each, but you get what you pay for. They even offer half loaves as well. Also by afternoon you'll have only a choice of what's left, but we've never been disappointed. If you love great bread this is the place for you.

Two of the variations were not being baked anymore - which we found odd for the time. We ordered a traditional but realized after digging in, the pasty is full of potatoes now. The ones we had in Salisbury several years ago had a very complementary ratio of potato to meat. Crust still flaky and good and staff was super friendly.
