I like Gail's, but it is a bit on the expensive side, so I come here when I want to splurge a bit. BUT when I'm here, the coffee is good, the baked goods are tasty, and the overall experience is pretty great. The place looks a bit small, but you have to remember that there's a few more seats behind, as well as the outdoor garden patio in the back (which I really, really love). I really enjoy coming out here to have a coffee and read a book or get some work done! Of note: Gail's has WiFi, but it doesn't reach the outdoor patio. (Three stars for some exorbitant prices, though.)

Bit on the expensive side, but the food is AMAZING. The French dark sourdough is my favorite. Also good lattes and croissants!

Maison Blanc - Subpar Eggs Benedict. Wouldn't order them again.

It's dark, and sometimes they cappuccino is great, and sometimes it's just burnt and bubbly. But Taylors next door serves a decent cup of Illy. It's just a good breakfast place. I usually love the eggs florentine if I'm going savory. However the portions are a bit on the small size for my brunch loving American self. Seems like a local trend here that french toast, although delicious, is a single thin slice of white bread. But at least they have plenty of pastries to top off with your meal. They also shine on cakes and cake decor. You normally have to order a day before, but their cakes are worth it. I ordered the Fraser cake for my husband's birthday and it was a hit with the whole family. Worth the walk for a morning bite.

This cafe was superb, the selection was incredible and the first bite was delicious. Not only do they have pastries and desserts but they have various jams and sandwiches and chocolate and wines and everything you'd expect a great french cafe to have. Now I would recommend various pastries and desserts but that wouldnt be fair. I had the hardest time trying to choose what I wanted. Everything just looked so damn good. And the smell..oh god the smell. I could live in there. O sweet maison blanc I long to visit you again soon.

They went so well with the crispy bacon and croissant. My experience while eating it was indescribable, and I was frantic at that time--walking briskly towards my next destination while holding shopping bags and a city map--so when the croissant omelette bacon forced me to take a moment to enjoy the flavors and texture of the food I was eating, I knew I had to write about it on Yelp. The canelé also stopped me dead in my tracks, only because I didn't recognize the spices/ingredients. It was my first time eating one, and it was a delight. I immediately wished I had bought two instead of one. The large pistachio macaron, I swear, gave me a mouthgasm. Oh... my... goodness, was it good! I mean, how can it not when it's pistachio-flavored AND huge? As for the Quiche Lorraine, I unfortunately waited too long to eat it, so it was cold and a bit stiff by the time I ate it. It was still good, but I know it could've been better warm. Customer service was satisfactory. The space of this place is a bit tight due to all the tables and chairs there. They prepare the coffee perpendicular and to the left of the pastries/cash register.
