I was pretty freaked out about how to move my 81 year old, wheelchair bound, mom with dementia. I did a search for possible transportation and found Flying Angels. I was still skeptical of using a service I found on the internet, but I am soooooo glad I set aside my concerns and engaged Flying Angels to help with the move. Maria was so organized and on top of booking the flights, the transportation and liaised with her doctor's office for prescriptions. And her response time was immediate. Even from a different time zone. I was really impressed with her professional handling of our move. The real star was Audrey. We called her Saint Audrey by the end of the trip. She was so calm and she told my mom lots of stories and engaged with and listened to my mom's stories (whether true or not). The trip was so smooth. I was so worried, but Audrey made sure my mom was happy and calm for the entire trip, even with a layover and a second flight from Dallas. Thank you Audrey for an easy trip to my mom's new home! In the attached photo, you can see that Audrey wrapped my mom in a blanket at the airport. We all joked that mom looked like Mother Theresa.

In spite of flight delays and her impaired cognition, Mom arrived a full 9 1/2 hours later calm and in good form. My Flight Coordinator, Sue Tressender exceeded the standard on every level. Her communications and coordination skills are excellent. Throughout the entire process, Sue was prompt, responsive, supportive and always available to answer my questions, walk me through the process and yes, allay my concerns. Sue was professional in all of her efforts. I don't think I can quantify the value that Mom's Travel Nurse, Audrey, brought to the experience. Wow. Audrey is indeed a "soul whisperer." Her interactions with my mother were nothing shy of brilliant. She was open, caring, and genuine in building trust with my mom. Indeed Audrey's expert skills and extensive experience in nursing are matched equally with her ability to connect with others -- even me. Audrey not only cared for my mother but she also was patient, attentive and supportive of me in all of my neurotic fears in this whole process. And she is a genius at distraction! After Mom's flight was delayed, she understandably became agitated. Audrey simply interrupted her for a phone call and handed her a banana. All of Mom's anxiety and agitation was swept away in laughter. Audrey's creative ease in distracting an agitated woman with dementia was absolutely genius! The ease of mind that Flying Angels delivered was admittedly expensive but undoubtedly worth every dime.

I don't visit hospitals often, but from the moment I arrived, I felt comfortable. During my checkup and temperature check, the staff made sure I felt at ease. A special thanks goes to Dr. Lucy, who calmly drew my blood more than once and gave me the courage to get through it without screaming or crying. She even gave me a heating pack afterward, which was a really thoughtful touch and made me feel like I had some control over the situation. Knowing I was in such capable hands made me feel safe and cared for. I also want to give honorable mentions to: Tech worker Michelle Lee O (I think that was his name; he was a white-skinned male with a really cool sleeve tattoo) Maggie (a tech worker with around 2 years of experience, if I remember correctly) They all did an excellent job making me feel comfortable while waiting and during my visit. I also want to recognize the unnamed staff who interacted with me respectfully and made me feel heard whether it was part of their job or not, it made a big difference. Overall, I felt listened to, respected, and well taken care of, and I truly appreciate everyone who made my visit so positive.

The day hospital and inpatient hospital is completely independent, so getting transferred is time consuming. The pharmacy is the slowest place in the hospital.
