I purchased a 2015 Hyundai Sonata on December 22, 2018. I test drove the car before this date and I did not notice the camera due to it being at night time.
I purchased an extended warranty and the certification inspection to be done at the time of purchasing of the vehicle. The salesman, Jon R. Smith, said I was able to bring the vehicle back after the holidays since it was already late, and it would take a few hours for the inspection.

I called prior to arriving at Napelton to make sure I was okay to arrive in the evening. They stated I was able to still come in. I arrived at Napleton's Valley Hyundai at approximately 19:00. I spoke to the gentleman at the service desk. Told him I was here to for my certification inspection, he went to speak to a service manager to see if it can be done. The manager stated it was alright since she called. I continue to tell the tech or front desk person that something is wrong with my rear-view camera. I noticed it in the daylight and I'm not sure if its corroded or if something wrong with the lens. He stated he would look during the inspection process.
About 45 minutes to an hour I was told my certification inspection was complete. I was impressed that it only took an hour considering my car salesman stated it would take 4-5 hours. I was handed an invoice that revealed everything they did on my vehicle. Such as; change my filter, changed my oil, cabin air filter, x gasket, and new wiper blades. I asked the associate about the camera and he stated they looked, and it was something internal. He was not sure if it was corroded or the lens was scratched/cracked, but he will notate it in the computer and order me a new rear-view camera, and of course the price will be on them due to damages prior. He stated next time I come in to tell them that my camera needs to be replaced and it will be in my file in the system. I was pleased with this information that my camera would be fix considering I just brought the car, and this was a feature I'm looking forward to use.
(Please note; time has passed due to a surgery I had to have; however, this should not be a factor as this is something that was to be taken care of by the dealership at my convenience.)

After I had recovered from my surgery, I scheduled to pick up my duplicate key that needed to be made (for paying for my certification), oil change, and for them to change my rear-view camera. Figured the parts should have been in my now. Once I arrived and they checked me in and told me to have a seat in the waiting room. After about an hour the service manager Michael Petrasek stated the oil change has been completed, however, they couldn't find anything in the computer regarding my camera. I said what do you mean. When I got my certification inspection done the associate told me he notated it in the computer. They requested who I spoke to, of course I did not remember. I didn't expect to be in this situation. The service manager continued to ask me which chair he sat in, I told him he was standing not sitting. He said hang tight I'm going to talk to the sales manager. An hour later he stated they wouldn't be able to change my rear-view camera because there's no paperwork and it's not in the computer. Now I'm stunned. He told me if I did want to order and get it fixed it would be $585.15. The service manager furthered explained how he couldn't help me, and it was up to the sales department. I then requested to speak to the sales manager.
Approaching the sales room, the manager, Kyle Khalil, met us at the door and begin to yell, stating when he sold me the car the rear-view camera was working. I told him; it does work but 80% of the screen is blurry. He continued to speak in an aggressive tone stating he refuses and WILL NOT fix my rear-view camera! He said bring back the paperwork that shows something was wrong with the rear-view camera. At this point I am in disbelief and upset. we left the office and I asked the service manager who do I need to speak to for them to pull my paperwork for my certification inspection. He stated that is something they are unable to pull on their computer. I can't fathom how they gave me a paperwork that they are unable to re print or pull back up in the system, only the Hyundai corporation can pull that kind of paperwork.
He explained that there would be nothing else he or they can do without names or proof. I said so I need to call Hyundai corporation to retrieve this paperwork. He said if you want to go that route.
After spending four hours at the car dealership I went home and found my invoice. The tech or associate didn't list anything for my rear-view camera. Now I feel like it's my word against the tech.
