The shop offers a great alternative to the likes of Debenhams and Bhs which offer the more traditional style of crockery. There's nothing wrong with this type of crockery at all, but it is good to have an alternative, that allows the kitchen to look funky and suave. The shop also has a good range of cups and plates and cutlery that are tailored for children with different patterns on them. They also have a few gadgets in here where you can try out some new techniques in the kitchen.

First impressions: snooty, snobbish, racist or maybe staff who have never seen a black person before - too bad. On entry i said good morning to the two ladies at the till - no answer, no reply at all, but when a white couple entered just after me and said hello they got a cheery hello in reply - first strike. I strolled over to check out some tea strainers, which was what i had come in for and the young lady at the till, who had been watching my every movement more hawkishly than a CCTV camera on speed, pretended she needed to get something in the store room next to where i was standing and then suspiciously asked if i needed any help - to which i replied no thank you. By this time i had made up my mind, not to buy anything from Creative Cookware even if i had a gun pointed at my head. I lingered a little still watched by the two attendants and left. I must say i was really disapointed by their behaviour, in a cosmopolitan town like Edinburgh, which gets loads of visitors each year the ladies at Creative Cookware have lost one very vocal customer, who will warn all her friends and family about their snooty, cold, racist service.

Being the only two people in the store, me and my Mam who's about to spend a good couple of thousand on a bathroom, the staff sat at their computers twiddling pens. The stock was good but we had no one to come and tell us anything about it, you make the normal hints of getting helped such as looking in their eyes and saying "can we get some help" but they all appeared to hate their jobs. Regardless of this, I don't know how about interior design trends but all the sinks and baths seemed in fashion with things I've seen on Grand Designs, I'm not ruling them out again if I ever get my own house in probably 2050.

This place sells baths, and boy, does it sell them well! The baths are beautiful though and there are styles to suit all room sizes and budgets. My ultimate dream is to have one of those beautiful roll-top baths that stand alone, I can just see me lying in one filled with bubbles with a glass of wine in my hand, bliss! Those styles of tubs start from £349 which isn't too bad at all. As well as bath-tubs, the store sells full bathroom suites, sinks, showers, taps, heating, cabinets and accessories, so there really is no need to go anywhere else. Great service and pretty good value for money. As well as baths,

Grassmarket, Old Town

If you're looking for contemporary Scottish design of the highest calibre, then come to Anta…read more Selling a range of furniture and linen, from superbly upholstered chairs to plush cushions, Anta puts a modern twist on traditional knits. Each item is handmade in the Scottish woolen mills, and the love put into making these materials shows in the impeccable quality of the knits. Their furniture collection is tasteful while also being distinctly of Scottish origin. They use earthy colours and timeless, accurate tartan patterns in each of their designs. Each is sourced to its isle or mainland place of origin. Although it is expensive, anyone interested in interior design with money to spend would be making an investment shopping from here. Along with selling large items such as couches, they also sell more affordable cushions and chic tartan bags. Ethical, detailed and independent design at its best, Anta's sincere and unique innovations move Scotland's design forward into the 21st century. An absolute treasure of a shop!

Anta is a fantastic shop selling the most amazing Scottish fabrics. Anta sells a huge range of different fabrics, including wool, tweed and linen, in a vast range of designs and so can chose which material you want, and Anta will use it to make curtains or to upholster cushions and chairs. I love to come into Anta and browse all the different fabrics and look at their rugs and throws which I absolutely adore, they are made of wool and cashmere and they are so soft to touch, although they are really pricey, costing about £200 - but SOO worth it! Anta also sell a selection of cushions which they have covered themselves in a range of different fabrics which look and feel heavenly. Clothes are also available here, such as corsets, skirts and the most beautiful scarves and shawls I have seen. Tweed shoulder and weekend bags are also sold here, which I also really want, and the smaller ones cost £40 which is very reasonable. When I am older, I want the inside of my house to have all the tartan and tweed products which Anta sell, and I can't wait to shop here when I have more money so I can buy the beautifully soft throws.
