We could tell that they truly enjoy their jobs and that they really do care about all the animals that come through. These guys are just so awesome! So kind and caring it is quite unbelievable. I felt like I knew Kelly from being on the radio on Thursday mornings and loved her laugh so much... Then I got to meet her in person. We had to put our 18-year-old cat Skeeter down. It was time, and I thought I could handle it and I did pretty good but when Kelly hugged me, I just couldn't believe how sweet she was. That's when the tears came. She made a very sad time doable. So...I decided to take a shelter kitten home! We came full circle! Over 18 years ago, we took Skeeter home, and this day we took Ursa home! Staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly! They answered all of my questions/concerns over the phone and during my rabbit's physical examinations (which they perform before each neuter/spay to make sure your pet is healthy enough to undergo surgery). I came here to get my female rabbit spayed. We drove over an hour to this location because of the inexpensive cost. It is incredibly difficult to find low cost spay/neuter services for rabbits where I live so I'm so glad I found this clinic. All of the staff members were wonderful and answered our questions thoroughly. They took great of our rabbit and even trimmed her nails for us. I would definitely recommend this place! read more

I took both my labs to be spayed here about a week and a half ago. One was Mom (Koda) at almost 3 years and the other was daughter (Rowan) 11 months old. The surgeries went well and they have been home resting. Sadly on Saturday I came home from dropping my kids off for a visit with grandma and came home to find sweet Rowan dead in the middle of our property, like she was sleeping. I was devastated and alone. I had no idea what could have happened. Her incision was clean with no infection. I thought of every possible out come and just wanted answers to protect mama dog from it as well. We had already taken her to the SPCA to be cremated but I emailed Napa Humane to see if this has happened to anyone else. They called me today and were so kind, asking if I wanted them to do a Nacropsy, they even drove to Vacaville to pick her up so that I didn't have to see her like that and bring her to Napa. Luckily she had not yet been cremated and I was given the cause of death around noon, they didn't make me wait days or weeks and just so kind. It ended up being intestinal torsion, something very rare and nothing to do with anything we did. They went above and beyond to help our family heal and I will always appreciate that. We will forever miss our sweet girl, but we found a bit of peace thanks to Napa Humane. read more

I was desperate to get both of my young dachshunds (brother & sister) fixed before my female went into her first heat. My preferred Redwood Vet Clinic in Vallejo was short staffed and months out for scheduling. I called all the Animal Humane Services in the area which were either closed or not doing spay & neuters due to no staffing. I was finally referred to Napa Humane for Solano County residents. They were friendly, professional, and offered price competitive fees. The only downside, they book months in advance because they are so busy. My dogs hit 6 months old in April 2022. Our surgery date was scheduled for July 2022. By the grace of God, they had a cancellation for mid May 2022 and they called us immediately. We accepted and on May 17th, both of my dachshunds were spayed & neutered on the same day. The staff and Vet upon our arrival were so warm and friendly and we appreciated the Vet taking a special fondness for our dachshund babies! Drop off early in the am, and pick up in the pm. They kept us updated throughout the day. We also had to have our babies umbilical hernias repaired which were done at the same day & time which made it so much easier on us. The recovery was at least 3 weeks plus given all the stitches, but I'm happy to report they are now nearly fully recovered and doing great. We are super grateful for their service and personal attention given they do so many surgeries everyday. We couldn't recommend them any more highly! Thank you so much! =] read more

Priceless. My vet wanted almost $200 for a neuter. A couple different people told me I should just go to Napa Humane so I figured, why not? For something like $85...my pooch got neutered and microchipped...then I ended up giving a donation and it was STILL way less than what my vet was charging. The staff was friendly, courteous and professional. They not only explained the post-op care in great detail, but also gave me handouts including all the info in case I forgot anything they told me. On top of all this...my puppy came home tail waggin...even after losing his manhood. Now THAT'S a good experience for everyone involved. read more

Well, after reading the reviews... I don't regret my rating and I don't regret writing the review I'm about to. These people are rude in the spay clinic. No respect! Rude AF. I'm glad I didn't take my cat here, she probably would have died like the poor animal in the other review. I was trying to make an appointment after the lady told me to call back on a Monday. I did and ended up playing phone tag. I get it, it's busy. But after a week ish, I find out they are booked till October? Why was that so hard to say in a voicemail instead of telling me to call back? THEN, the rude lady, Caitlyn, tells me to leave a voicemail next time I call.... um excuse me? Two months ago we ended up rescuing a 6 month old puppy that was left on the street to fend for herself. We already had one dog, a toddler, and a baby on the way so I was hesitant to keep her since the vet bills are expensive. I'm SO thankful we found Napa humane who offer fair, low prices to get animals all the care they need. Because of them we were able to keep our beloved new dog, Sadie, and she got spayed and the shots she needed. We loved Sadie from the moment she found us and were so happy we are able to keep her. Walking into the clinic it's very clean and professional. The front desk people are nice and know what they're doing. Meeting the vet who took Sadie was SO nice and very informative. You could seriously tell he loved his job and loved animals! I felt safe leaving Sadie in their hands. Sadie is doing well so far recovering and we're happy she can be healthy! Five stars for the price to get your cats spayed or neutered. $45 for males and $55 for females. It was much more at the local vets. Plus I got the microchip for $12 each. So far so good, hopefully they heal well I bought cones to put on their neck to make sure they don't irritate their wounds. The staff was very friendly and professional. I recommend this to anyone who does not have a lot to spend on medical bills for pets. Particularly when you have more than one. read more

Let me tell you how much of a nervous wreck I was the weeks leading up to my rabbit's neutering surgery. I have heard horror stories of rabbit's dying due to reactions to the anesthesia​. I reached out to Napa Humane through their website, listed my email, pet breed​and the ​name and the surgery procedure​​e I needed. They promptly responded via email listing the available dates. They only see 2 rabbits a day which was a relief to hear as I would assume the more rabbits to more pressure and work for the vets. We booked the appointment via email and the weeks leading up to the neutering​ date was awful. I was an emotional wreck but the staff of Napa Humane was​ freaking wonderful. The receptionist was very sweet. Prior to them admitting my rabbit, the vet did a physical on my rabbit to make sure he was deemed healthy enough for the surgery, and he was. I feel like she could sense that I was freaking out but she did her best to comfort me. She said my rabbit was healthy, they see rabbits on the daily so rabbit surgery procedures​ are routine and not rare, she has an anesthesiologist​ on duty during the whole surgery monitoring the rabbits and she's been doing it long enough to know the red flags and catch them in time. It really did make me feel a lot better. We got no calls from the clinic so we took that as a good sign. We picked him up around 3 pm the same day and our rabbit was doing very well the receptionist had said. She left us aftercare instructions which were​ very helpful. I searched around for weeks within a 45 mile radius of my Vallejo home, looking for somewhere to get my chi weenie puppy neutered. Local vets gave me price ranges of $200-400, a little steep for a college student and an elective surgery. Napa Humane Society, charging $75 and $10 for micro-chipping, was the first place I came across that was affordable, professional, clean, etc. I got an appointment easily, they treated my little guy great, & he healed up within a week just perfectly. My mom had an older cat show up on her doorstep I named Matilda. She had been feeding her and cared for her because she was so malnourished. Such a sweet little cat that had timid eyes. When it started getting cold outside my mom took her here in hopes of getting her adopted. But no. They spayed her and they threw her back on the street. My mom came home to Matilda back on her doorstep 3 weeks later. It was such an emotional experience to take her to shelter, and then surprise. Their solution was that if you don't want Matilda on your doorstep just to stop feeding her! I thought they were in the business of helping animals, not letting them die in the cold. They also informed my mom that in California they are not allowed to euthanize. I applaud California for that, but dumping animals on the street? Who are you really? read more

I took my five-month-old kitten to get spayed. She appeared fine after the surgery and I followed all the post-operation instructions and checked her site of incision daily without anything ever looking out of the ordinary. However, after three days she was hardly eating or drinking and feeling generally crummy. I took her to my vet. Turns out, there was a beach in sterility during the spay procedure, she developed an internal absess and a fever of 104.8. She required another surgery to input a drain into her abdomen and I had to fork out nearly $500. The consent form doesn't allow me to ask for reimbursement for my expenses after a botched surgery. Know what you are getting into if you choose the $55 surgery cost at the Humane Society. read more

My daughter adopted a stray kitty, Nancy, so we took her in to get her fixed becuase we weren't sure. We found out she had indeed been fixed, but during surgery a hernia was discovered. Got my lil almost-tom cat neutered here last Friday. They had an organized manner of handling the pets and owners. I felt very comfortable with my baby in their hands just from the assessment. Had the boyfriend pick him up later that afternoon. He got there a little past the pet pick-up time frame but boyf told me they were very understanding and considerate about it. That wife of mine keeps pestering me for another addition to the family. Not of the human nature, but of the four legged type. We currently have a cat, his name is Cat. So we have to take Cat into consideration. He does kind of run the house. I contacted the Napa Humane society kind of on a whim with some questions. I am a firm believer of what you get, you keep. There are no returns on living, breathing things. This has to be a match made in heaven. Well allow me to enlighten you on this place. I cant say enough about Wendi. She has been prompt, truthful, attentive, full of pertinent info, and just an all around wonderful person to be dealing with. She told me everything i needed to know. We probably emailed about 3 times back and forth and every email was as personal as the first. I dont want to overstep my boundries here but if you have any questions about the adoption process, or when it is kitty season or proper age or whatever, please inquire at this business.
