Before I bought my laptop I was always using their computers I noticed that their Mac desktops are in the front of rows in the center of the building while Windows desktops take up the midsection and the back of the rows of the library. I like their website since it gives you convenience like knowing if what you need is available or if you want to reserve or put a hold on it. A calm and useful oasis in a lovely town!…read more I have visited there several times over the last few weeks and the whole campus of various public offices, services, and facilities in which the library exists is terrific. Post office is right across the driveway, too. The library itself is cozy and calming, carpeted and clean, with a nice kids section and plenty of stuff for non-kids, like well-maintained computers and a newspaper reading area with tables and chairs that is connected to the main area. There were users of the Napa County library system picking up books that had arrived there from other local and distant libraries, which is so useful! The people that work there have been unfailingly helpful and welcoming, assisting me with printing as well as a flash drive loan that was clutch for me at a moment when it was really needed, and for that I thank them here as well as me being appreciative in the moment. Lots of easy parking behind the facility, also, and the location is a nice springboard to walk around welcoming Yountville in conjunction with a library visit if you are so inclined. I did not get any sense that visitors who are unfamiliar with the library are treated any differently than obvious long-time users, other than staff knowing and using the names of people who often come there, and that made me feel valued and "part of the scene," not just a tolerated intruder or something. The staff sets a professional and welcoming tone in this small corner of the world, and I get the sense from my visits, which will remain part of my pattern, that they like where they work and genuinely want to be of service to the public. Preserving History…read more Founded in May 1948 by local citizens, Napa County Historical Society is a membership-based archival and educational organization. Its mission is "to discover and keep history alive through exhibits, lectures, and events, as well as research, publications, and educational activities". It has been located in the beautiful Goodman Library building since 1970s thanks to Jess Doud who was the Executive Director at the time. Visitors can enjoy various displays, exhibits, and educational programs at this location. If visiting, you might check the calendar of events posted on their website in advance of your visit to take full advantage of the programs they offer.

My first visit was last week. It was a wonderful experience. There is a young man who works there…read more I didn't get his name, but I believe he wears his hair pulled back in a ponytail. This young man is so polite so helpful and it made my visit a great success. Fast-forward two days ago, I returned. I had very important documents that needed to be uploaded and very time sensitive. On this day, the employee that was working was deep into a conversation with her coworker. She acted bothered by me asking a question. I am old. I am 55 years old. I am not from today's generation. I am not computer savvy and I need help. Actually I needed a lot of help because I needed to know how to work the printer, attach photos etc. She proceeded to give me two-three word instructions and acted upset because she had to get back to her conversation. I am 55 years old. I am not savvy when it comes to computers. I also understand this is not a computer class. There were three clerks on duty at the time. I don't know. I just feel that if the roles were reverse, I would want to help somebody and feel great that I was able to do so. I felt embarrassed by this. My documents are not yet finished It's a beautiful atmosphere i. I just wish she would have made me feel comfortable

It was on the second or third floor and I swear to you I can still smell the scent of the old book Goosebumps books. But that was years ago and Suisun City was able to construct this fantastic building next to Suisun Elementary and the Croc Center. It's small but the librarians there are extremely friendly and helpful. All around, this is a great addition to Suisun City.

That being said, I found myself pulling out several books for my daughter as I walked around inside. I found three of my own childhood favorites that had faded from memory in just minutes after arriving. I love when that happens. Having visited the Fairfield, Vacaville and now Suisun library, I'd say that despite its size, this library is just as great as any other in the area. Lots of windows, comfy seating for story time and an adequate amount of work tables for the size of the space. We will definitely be back, glad I stumbled upon this gem a few weeks ago!

The layout is very well organized, and there's plenty of natural light from the tall windows (highlighting the setting of surrounding redwoods). The lovely & historical art displayed on the walls downstairs is very interesting to peruse and look at. I use my library membership here to access a few online apps to borrow books (Libby & Hoopla), and I always find what I'm looking for as the access is not just MV library, but includes all Marin County libraries. Also, icing on the vegan cake is that on the side of the building is a small but very well stocked used bookstore -the Friends of the Library Bookstore- with a diverse selection of secondhand books at incredibly low prices.

Gone are the days when one can find a quiet place to sit at the library at any time. But I get it, it's promotes community gatherings and there are no alternative facility to host the concerts. The books for sale are cheap and offer a wide variety of hardcovers, anywhere from a $1-$4 bucks depending on new the book is. I always seem to find something to take back with me from their sales books! Gina and the folks at BPL are the best! Overall a 20 out of 10!
