I just happened to take a chance and stop in here after admitting to the staff I had already been to Pep Boys & O'Reilly Auto looking for a bulb. I showed Eileen my problem, she immediately looked it up and the bulb she gave me I knew wouldn't work but she said "if the car is here go try it and if it doesn't work, we'll try something else" Since I didn't have anole bulb to show here, I gave a piece of cardboard to show the length of the bulb. Eileen preferred to have the owners manual but that didn't help either. It's obvious she knows how to think outside the box (all the while helping other customers and phone calls too). And after she looked something up in the catalog - she came back with a bulb from somewhere in the back warehouse and told me to go try it. That bulb was perfect !! I came back in and said I'll take another so I have a spare (never asked the price; dummy me) but out the door for 3 bulbs was only $7.45. Thanks Eileen- you're amazing to have watched, your skill level was not just with me but everyone you had in front of you or on the phone. If I could give this place less than one star I would. Bought a NAPA AGM battery from a NAPA store about a year ago and now that store is out of business so I go to another NAPA, this store. Sorry sir they don't cover batteries from another store. 36 month warranty on a battery and they said we don't honor another store bought battery. I'm going to Auto Zone and maybe they have better customer service. Piss on NAPA. read more

I just had an absolutely awful experience with the MANAGER of Napa at 7323 El Cajon Blvd, La Mesa, CA 91942. I have a wholesale account with Napa and called to order parts like normal. After being on hold for over 15 minutes I decided to hang up and call again as I felt like I was forgotten about. Someone answered and immediately asked how they could help me instead of placing me on hold...I simply said I was on hold for over 15 minutes and believe you forgot about me. He continued to make excuses about being very busy instead of owning up to the error and admitting I was forgotten about as he was able to assist me on the spot with my second call. I said its okay to admit you simply forgot...he said "NO, I am not playing this game" and HUNG UP ON ME! I called back to speak with the manager and the guy that hung up on me claimed to be the manager, "Steven." I questioned him on how he handled things and he got even more defensive and told me to call Corp if I have a problem and HUNG UP ON ME AGAIN! I am still in shock a manager would act so unprofessional and act such a way. Well, I took Steven's advice and contacted Corporate with a complaint. Hopefully they will be reaching out to STEVEN for some proper customer service training asap read more

This is my first time visiting a Napa Store, this is the closest store to my house... The staff at this location is so careless about customers needs and clueless about anything you ask them from simple updates about your order to just general automotive knowledge, besides my order being 2 days late (I get it, things happen) when I asked the staff a simple question about the part I ordered the guy literally told me "I'm just here to ring up the parts on the computer and sell them to you, not to answer questions about them" Definitely not coming back anytime soon! read more

Our daughter, who's a first year college student in SD, stopped here to buy a funnel for oil and locked her keys in her trunk. AAA came and unlocked her car, but she couldn't get into her trunk. Store manager Steven K. stayed with our daughter after the store had closed while she was waiting for the locksmith, and he helped her to get into the trunk before the locksmith made it. Since we live 5.5 hours away, it was such a relief and gave us peace of mind having someone go this far out of their way to help our daughter. We can't thank him enough! read more

Ordered eight parts. Was call back and was told, each part carried shipping of eleven dollars. So they were going to see if they can get from warehouse . I was told they would call me back, NO call . This was Friday . Monday I called back ,they said let me check I'll call you right back. No call. Tuesday I called same thing no call back. I call Friday they just blew me off ,and now I can't even get the parts I wanted. Don't understand . If they don't want to be there they should quit. read more

Never been to that NAPA before. I normally go to the one off Clairemont Mesa but stopped in to ask questions to get a part. You can tell not so friendly unless you are of the opposite race....as a middle-age guy myself, as they were. I looked at how they handled the other customers that were in front of me, and I was not treated the same. I could just feel the tension, but I still smiled and kept my composure asking my questions. They were completely disrespectful looking at the Watch on their wrist , as if they didn't have time for me, and answering phone calls. Rather than just helping an in-person customer out, they said couldn't just ask to please hold and finish with me. As I saw them do with the other customers who were in line before me. Napa you have seriously kicked it down a notch... You no longer have the quality, USA made replacement parts, and it has started to show. I realized this with a lifetime warranty water pump that I purchased less than 3 years ago for an older 90s Toyota that started to leak- after only about 25000 miles. The factory pump never leaked, but I decided to replace it because I was having the timing belt changed. Now, it is leaking and I must tear it all apart just to return it under warranty! And this is such a bear of a job, I'll most likely have to pay someone to change it out for me!! So, since the part is still in vehicle, I had to purchase another new one. Which will be refunded to me once I remove the faulty pump. However, I couldn't help but notice on the box- MADE IN CHINA!!!! I had to question the employee about this, and she said "well almost everything is made in China these days". Well, although there is much truth to this, I really didn't expect this from Napa auto parts- who were always known for their quality parts. Now the question remains, how much life can I expect from this "new" chinese water pump? Only time will tell... Hey, I realize you guys don't want it be undersold, but you are now sacrificing quality in the name of the almighty dollar! I was always willing to pay a little more for quality but that's out the door now. To summarize, what good is it to offer a lifetime warranty if the parts won't last? Oh yeah I almost forgot, I can return the part for a new one indefinitely... even though it will cost me more time, effort and money for labor... Tiny little place staffed by young, inexperienced punks with serious ennui issues. It appears this place just orders parts for dealerships then delivers the parts via small truck. No real auto parts inventory or actual customer service intended or implied. Stopped in to buy an air filter for my bike. The two guys playing basketball inside immediately stated they didn't carry bike filters. I told them I had a Napa part # so the lady babysitting the two kids checked. Nope. Wow, that's weird. OK thanks... Then she miraculously located it under "powersports." Great! I'll take three, says I. Nope. We don't stock them here. We can order them. Really? On my way out--and this is the gist of this review--I asked if they sold air compressors (you know, like your successful competitors?). All three just laughed. I've been going into this branch for years. They moved here from University Ave. about 2 years ago. I have no complaints. The service is very good, they are knowledgeable, and the prices are definitely reasonable. Comparable or better than their competitors. The product quality always has been good for me. They are usually busy, but do their best to help you asap. Today, Chase the manager helped me with a battery. Checking the old one, installing the new one. Answering all my (many!) questions. Contra another reviewer, didn't find any punks or working moms there. Yeah, the sales floor may be small but the back room apparently isn't. When I needed parts for my 95 Escort, they had everything in stock. They could act a little more like they appreciate my business but then that's unfortunately true of most businesses these days. Prices are competitive for what you're getting. In short, you pays your money and you gets your parts; no complaints. read more
