This is my second time writing a review. The first time, the owner of this salon, Naomi had privately emailed me and threatened to get her attorney involved. If you cannot take constructive criticism of your salon, then don't be on yelp! I have every right as a very unsatisfied customer to express my opinion and experience. Instead of attacking clients, maybe take the advice to become a better salon! With that said, I had hired Salon Naomi for my wedding back in October and was very disappointed in the way we were treated by Naomi herself, and the makeup artist. The invoice that was recieved did not make any sense to me or my mother. When asked for clarification from the invoice and what we had already paid for, and what was covered as well as what was still owed, the owner was extremeley rude and instead of making her clients feel comfortanle with the prices paid, she made my mother and I feel like we were inadicute to understand her invoice. When you are getting married, your nerves are already so high that you want everyone you hire to be kind, considerate, and accountable for their mistakes. Salon naomi was none of these things. They had made my wedding experience all the more stressful as I did not know how to get my bridesmaids to pay because of the invoice I didnt know what they owed. My mother ended up paying for the whole thing as a resrult. To this day I could not tell you what we had paid for or what the invoice covered. Not only this, but the makeup artist that was assigned to my wedding party was extremely rude. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law needed just a few minutes to get their contacts out of their eyes and she was insisting someone needed to be in her chair and with the rolling of the eyes and the attitude given to my family was just not acceptable. Overall, I am very disappointed in this salon and very upset that the experience had to go this way. I am not trying to ruin this salons reputation or by any means mean any harm, however as a dissatisfied customer I believe I have every right to express my thoughts on this experience. I am extremely unsatisfied with this salon. I signed this contact for my wedding day makeup only five hours ago and Naomi is refusing to refund my money. We drove two hours each way to get make up trials today. After Janice finished applying my makeup I thought it looked okay but was not in love with it. She made some minor changes and it did look better, but this was still by no means my dream wedding look. I was pressured into signing a contact and putting a deposit down before she could even finish my friends makeup. This should have been a red flag! When we left the salon and went into the natural light I noticed the dark circles under my eyes almost immediately. As the day went on my make up set an and I grew increasingly unsatisfied. My face was an uneven tone, dark circles under my eyes and my blemishes were uncovered. This was not even close to my ideal wedding day look. Coming from the cosmetology field I was also very disgusted and displeased that Janice did not clean any of her brushes in between make up applications for the three of us. She also used the same ponds wipe to remove makeup from all of our faces. I know that this is against the Connecticut Cosmetology State Board laws. Not giving a refund especially for services that have not been rendered yet is terrible customer service. I'm appalled at the way this business is run and would not recommend it to anyone! I have worked in the salon industry for 10years and have never heard of anyone refusing to give back money for services not rendered! They have 9 months notice for a cancellation! I can not imagine holding on to an unsatisfied clients hard earned money! Unbelievable! Just an update on this review.... Such a disappointment!! Booked WAY in advance for a wedding in which I was an attendant. Appointment was confirmed week before, then again day before with an added 30 minutes. Arrived as confirmed, waited over 40 minutes. Did NOT leave with formal updo, makeup was amateur level, and was charged the same for the blowout as an updo?! I was the only bridesmaid with crappy hair and makeup :( Would never recommend this place... totally unprofessional and disappointing. read more

She is very good at her craft. But also extremely difficult. She will not respond unless you're looking for full bridal party. We used her for a friends wedding and had issues, but she was so good I contacted her for multiple events after and get no response or "I'll get back to you" and never does. There's many more makeup artists in the area who are not so arrogant and actually care about clients and building good relationships with repeat customers! Look further people. read more

Completely unprofessional in their services. I was extremely disappointed in my permanent makeup and the OWNER basically laughed it off. I'm from out of the state and was visiting a friend so I guess I should have known better. You would think for as expensive as this place is they would actually know what they were doing. I would have also posted a review on the salon facebook page but saw all of the negative reviews about what she did to a bride that lost her fiance buried by PAID positive reviews. Makes me sick. I gave 3 stars for a few reasons: 1. Customer service - horrible and rude. 2. Hair stylist expensive and poor skills. 3. Owner herself, not approachable and mean. Good things: Make up artists are fantastic, polite and skilled!!! I scheduled appointment with Naomi to have permanent eyeliner done. I left with no service to be provided and frustrated because Noami was very rude toward my person. I tried to explain to her that I have very sensitive eyes,so she said to go home because I am scared of service and I need strong painkillers to be taken before service.She charged me for showing up, conversation and service not to be done.I never received permanent eyeliner and money back !!Her make up artists are wonderful girls but she needs to learn customer service skills herself if she wants to be in business!!!! BEWARE DON'T EVER BOOK THIS SALON FOR ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!! First of all if I could give 0 stars I would! Secondly my sister Christiana used Naomi's for her wedding last year, everything was excellent! Reason being when I got engaged I wanted to book her immediately. So I did for Sept 7th 2017.. then we ultimately decided to call the wedding off - sucks I know but I called the salon and they were kind enough to take my cancellation fee from 400$ down to 200$.. and the money used for the deposit could be used as in salon service credit. Then my younger sister got engaged recently and I called Naomi's to see if they could use my credit towards her deposit. Seeing as we would be 3x repeat clients and offer multiple referrals and they would make even more money on our family than just the deposit money. A woman calls me back today and made it her point to make me feel AWFUL! She proceeded to tell me "I must not know what it means to sign a contract or what one entails".. told me basically TOO BAD. I told her I live in Ansonia and it would be a waste for me to drive to Newington to use that money towards salon services and it'd be much more beneficial to use that money for wedding services! She told me that it's basically my fault that I'm choosing not to use that money in the salon. I've never been treated with such disrespect by someone offering something as personal as a customized experience for someones wedding day! Should be the happiest time of your life, along with all the planning. BUT I would never recommend ANYONE to use this salon or any of their services!!! They are horrible business people with NO SOUL whatsoever!! Money could have been made - but I'd rather let them take it because they are distasteful and poor business owners! SHAMEFUL!! Unprofessional is the best way to describe the owner of this salon. Horrible is the best way to describe the service I received. I had my hair highlighted by Ericka. I informed her prior to beginning the service that my hair takes a long time to process...longer than the average. She didn't want to listen and turned my hair a nice bright shade of BRASS. I didn't realize how horrible it was until I was driving home and saw it in natural light. I immediately called the salon and said there was no way I could walk around in public with orange hair and I needed it fixed immediately. I went in the following day and another stylist put toner in it. This stylist confirmed that the bleach was not left on long enough for my hair to lift to the color I wanted, and all she could do was basically "calm the brass". She also informed me that my haircut by Ericka was just as bad as the color. I was informed by this stylist that since I did not receive the service I requested, the owner, Naomi, would refund me. I called and left messages for Naomi at least 5 times. She had Ericka call me back and try to schedule an appointment to "fix" my hair again. I really was not interested in the woman who turned my hair this lovely shade of orange touching my hair again. Naomi never returned ANY of my phone calls, so I decided to contest the charge through my credit card. Naomi refused to give me a credit making all kinds of excuses as to why my hair turned brass, such as hard water or my hormones. Ive been getting my hair highlighted for 15 years and it NEVER looked close to how it did after I left her salon. Luckily, my credit card company was willing to cancel the charge, and they were even shocked at her unprofessional manner. I was informed after my hair was ruined by one of the stylist's that Naomi is thinking of getting rid of color all together at her salon, as she can't afford to hire someone to do trainings to keep updated and current with trends. So hopefully, if you are going to this salon you won't have to worry about this, as it may no longer be offered. I can't say you won't receive the same non-responsiveness I received from Naomi in the event you are unhappy with a service you receive. read more

Huge disappointment!! On the day of wedding we were told $20 extra for fake lashes even though we asked in advance if fake lashes were included !! Company owner did the make up for the wedding and she was HORRIBLE rude and did not apply quality make up !! read more

I love this salon! I've been getting my eyelashes done here and Naomi does an incredible job! She's super sweet and the salon is clean and comfortable. I always look forward to coming in and getting my refills! Definitely recommend for eyelash extensions, Naomi is the best! read more

My daughter was extremely unhappy. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. Naomi did my makeup for engagement pics and as soon as I sat down I wanted to leave. The whole appointment I felt all she did was pick out my flaws and constantly talk about them while trying to get me to buy her facial products. I was also told when I booked the appointment she would do my hair, which she did not do so I had to leave the salon and do my own hair in about 10 minutes.I have had much better experience elsewhere with MUCH friendlier staff and makeup I actually liked. The $90 I paid was not worth it at all. I would not go back to this salon and would not recommend this place. If you want to have all your flaws pointed out this is the place to go. read more

I went to Naomi about a year and a half ago to have my brows microbladed. DO NOT GET YOUR BROWS BLADED AT THIS SALON! My brows aren't a shape for my face, and after attempting to let her mistakes fade away from my skin (i was told they would fade away after about a year) , i have had to get the ink removed by tattoo removal because she pressed so hard when microblading she pushed the ink too far into my skin (way passed the 3rd layer of skin that blading is supposed to sit at) and also caused scar tissue to form. The strokes that are supposed to look like natural hair are super thick, giving my brows more of an appearance of filling them in poorly with makeup rather than a naturally grown in Brow. She drew stokes against the grain of my hair growth which made the tail of my brow look like a bush, and missed a complete patch in the front of my brow. Naomi had no clue what she was doing, and i mistakenly read reviews and looked at pictures that were Misleading. Save yourself, and your brows and do not get microblading done here read more
