Here is the review: "Tour was just okay. We didn't stop at things people clearly wanted to stop at and there was a lot that no one cared about. The driver (my wife said his name was Richard) was anxious to get through the tour because there was so much to see in 3 hours... I'm like, okay then let's stop at the stuff people want to take pics of and blow off the rest of this crap. He also zoomed by and barely slowed down long enough to take a photo of something other than the back of the hand of the person sitting in front of you... the hand that was still there because they didn't have time to take a pic either. The driver also talked about Obama and Clinton the ENTIRE tour. I lost count at 8 stories. (This is not an exaggeration.) Paid for two of us for trip from Hyannis to Nantucket. Trip was cancelled due to mechanical issues…read more Ok that can happen, I get it. But the handling of it was bad. When we first arrived we were greeted by a salty sailor type guy who grumbled "it's not running today. Hasn't been running all day..." then rattled off a confusing list of options as if it was our problem, and "go to the ticket booth". We went to the ticket booth where the guy - who clearly hates tourists - rattled off options, each one with an attitude like it was just our problem and we had to know the area and options and if we didn't we were just stupid. "well you could take the freighter... well you could try that other boat over there... well..." We asked, "any idea when it could be back running again"? "nope." 2 stars because they gave us a free ride back. But even that wasn't clear. Return boat was canceled. Went to ticket building before the return trip... got another ticket person who was very unclear. "We can't give refunds here." (WTH, this is a large ticket building, not just a booth and they can't rectify there?!). Now we knew about the freighter and passenger "slow boats" (2 hours instead of 1) and were lower cost so we were just looking for the difference refunded. "can't do that here". then "just hop on, and it will be free back, then go to the ticket counter and talk to them". Of course when we got back nothing was open. So we got online the next morning. Managed to get a full refund so the return ride was free. Turned out ok. Slow boats took 2 hours off our day but whole trip ended up costing 1/4 of what it would have it the boat was working.

I planned it because of how much she enjoyed Elin's books, andI have never read a book but Heather made the tour absolutely wonderful with all the facts and stories about the books and the island. Additionally, DelRose was an amazing driver on the tight streets and navigating the bus like a small car, and she as well added stories which was so informative. I loved the Chicken Box stop because I wanted to go there, without knowing about the books and it didn't disappoint at all!! It truly highlighted the beauty of Nantucket. We met another couple celebrating their 25th anniversary and it was just so neat to see how much it meant to Elin's fans. Heather made this tour very personal and you could truly feel her and Elin's passion about Nantucket. I would highly recommend this tour, you will not e disappointed!!!! I even watched the 5 Star Weekend when we got home!

We are then walked to the bus, 5 minutes later than are scheduled start time (although we did go about 20 minutes past are scheduled end time, which almost made someone be late for the ferry). Delaraose was out tour guide. And don't get me wrong, she's nice and full of energy, Ibut just didn't like her style. It was along the lines of "There are 3 cemeteries in Nantucket and 1 Elementary school...." and then a couple minutes asking questions about what she just said and expecting everyone to shout back the answer, over and over. It just got annoying after a couple times. The rest of the group seemed into it though. So mileage may vary. The overall point remains though that the company as a whole is disoragnized and not worth it.

Not only were we left stranded at the ferry stop for hours due to a "van issue," but the backup tour companies that were allegedly sent over never showed. I had paid the full price of $450 upfront on Venmo, and afterwards the owner Jeffrey C. refused to issue a refund, even after weeks of texting. I would absolutely not recommend this company.

This little museum opens during the tourist season, early to mid-June. If you are on island in early June, I'd ask the staff at the Whaling Museum if the Old Gaol (pronounced, "Old Jail") is in fact staffed and open. The museum is about a fifteen to twenty minute walk from Town. Enjoy the beautiful house, homes, and gardens that align the streets of Town as you walk your way. Worth going to, and you will see some eye opening displays of how criminals were treated back in the day. Easy walk, and enjoyable.
