Some of the doctors come and go (it is a teaching clinic) and I've seen a few different ones. Aside from one doctor who needed some refresher credit on bedside manner, I've never questioned their judgement. My current doctor there (A. Turner) inherited a patient who came off 3 months in a hospital bed. The clinic has access to HH's medical files, so she knew what she was getting and has guided me back to mostly good health. If there's any problem, it's certainly not her. True, you can wait a long time on the phone. True, you do need to prod them with referrals sometimes. I've never had problems with Rx refills, so I don't know where those complaints come from. Fix those and you'll get a 5th star. I don't know if it is technically possible, but I'd like to use MyChart to be a central repository of the various others specialists I've visited, and I'm not sure this is possible. So my "complaints" are ancillary to the core--I've gotten good care from them.

The office said Dr. Trop-Zell was booked for months, and if I would have an initial appt. with Dr. Mallari, I could then switch to Dr. Trop-Zell. Then they wouldn't allow it. Dr. Mallari ordered many tests for my physical that I found out afterwards were really overkill. And there was always another reason for me to come back for another appt. even though my health was fine. The staff that doctor Mallari had was really incompetent. The staff that scheduled things in the outer office was confrontational and rude...I actually heard the receptionist yellling at a patient one day. This was a number of years ago, but I just saw this single review for Dr. Mallari and staff saying how incredible they were and I couldn't let that stand.

Now I am strictly Rebeca Rowen's patient and LOVE HER!!!! One visit I got a random person and instead of him reviewing my chart he decided a lecture was far better. I walked out in tears. What finally caused me to write this review unfortunately has nothing to do with the provider herself, it's the company's process. Today's call to make an appointment ended with asking for my insurance information and reminding me (first time I've heard this) that they do NOT verify insurance, it is my job to do so. WHAT?! Since when did this became their policy? So if you don't fully understand what the comment means, IF YOUR INSURANCE IS OUT OF NETWORK AND YOU DIDNT CAL YOUR INSURANCE TO CHECK YOU WILL BE RECEIVING A BILL that would most likely have been covered or had a higher coverage rate had you gone to an in network Dr. So if this isn't a problem for you make sure you always verify with your insurance because they can be in network for one visit but for a future appointment no longer be in network.
