Dr. Leslie Klein, oncologist at Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers -- where do I even begin?…read moreI met Dr. Klein during my cancer journey around April 1, 2021 -- and no, it was not an April Fool's joke. Before meeting her, I had left another hospital's ER because of what I felt was a complete lack of urgency regarding my condition. I drove myself to another recommended hospital in Scottsdale, where I met Dr. Anderson, who was referred to me early on. He recommended Dr. Klein, and I told him I would call her the following morning. The next morning, I heard a knock at the door of my hospital room. To my surprise, it was Dr. Leslie Klein herself. I remember thinking, "Wow -- she makes house calls." At first, I was cautious because after a year-and-a-half-long misdiagnosis and several disappointing experiences with other doctors, I had nearly lost faith in the medical system altogether. Our first meeting started a little rocky because of my frustration and fear, but I later apologized to Dr. Klein -- my angel. Sometimes God truly does work in mysterious ways. Before meeting Dr. Klein, my first spleen biopsy had come back inconclusive, and the previous medical facility never even contacted me with the results. I eventually drove myself to their ER because of severe pain and personally requested the biopsy report. They even allowed me to leave with an IV still in my arm so I could get to the Scottsdale hospital and ask for Dr. Anderson. From the moment I met Dr. Klein, I knew she was different. She doesn't just hear her patients -- she truly listens. She never interrupts, maintains eye contact, and speaks with genuine care, compassion, and urgency. When my insurance company delayed approval for chemotherapy, Dr. Klein refused to give up. Through her determination and expertise, she arranged for another physician to perform a successful biopsy. Within days, my chemotherapy was finally approved. A CT scan with contrast revealed a cancerous mass in my spleen, along with lymph nodes that were also affected by cancer. That was the beginning of my battle with Stage IV Large B-Cell Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. The journey was long and difficult. It included extensive chemotherapy treatments and ultimately a bone marrow transplant. Today, as of May 2026, I am cancer free, and in December 2026 I will celebrate my five-year anniversary since my bone marrow transplant. I owe so much of this to Dr. Klein -- a truly caring physician whose determination, compassion, and partnership with her patients give people hope during the darkest moments of their lives. She was and is my angel, and I hope she can be someone else's angel too.

I love Dr. Evidente. He is fun loving and joyful, yet on the cutting edge of diagnosis and…read moretreatment of movement disorders. Because of him, I was able get a conclusive skin biopsy for Parkinson's Disease. It's a brand new test in the USA and reliable. No DaTScan!! He had the connection and I got the test! I have the protein in every spot biopsied. He's a great doctor. I refer other people to him. They love him as well. I trust him!

I went in for a consult with Dr. Evidente, and he was convinced that I had Parkinsons. I went for a DAT Scan, of course scared to death of the results. The lab said that they would send the results to Dr. Evidente's office within 2 days. When I never heard from them within a week, I tried calling. I must have tried calling 10 times within a 3 week period, but they never answer the phone, and the hours they keep are ridiculously sparce. I left several messages, but never received a call back. We're dealing with somebody's life here, but apparently that's not important enough to call me back with the results! I shouldn't have even had to call. They should've reached out to me. I finally sent a scathing email about a month after the DAT Scan. Again, no response. I thought I would phone one more time before going down there, and some smart a** millenial named Sam finally answered the phone. I asked him why they never answer the phone, and/or return messages. All he did was laugh in the phone making one excuse after the other. All lies by the way. He said he had sent an email a couple of days ago, but there was no such email. Once I had had enough of his condescending attitude, I told him I would be coming to see him in person. He laughed again. I immediately drove down there to get my results, and also to meet this Sam guy face to face. He was as smug in person as he was on the phone. However, once he realized who I was, he became quite nervous. I lectured him on how unprofessional it is to act the way he does, and how cruel it is to play with people's lives by not sharing results in a timely fashion. He finally seemed to get the message, but I doubt anything will change. I asked to speak to the doctore, but apparently he strolls in whenever he feels like it "sometime after 10:30" I was told. If you can avoid this place, do yourself a favor and find somewhere else that actually cares. This place is brutal from start to finish, and I should've heeded the warnings from so many other patients. All this is is a money grab

When I got called back, one nurse gave me instructions on the prep of wiping down and dressing she was very nice. The nurse who came in and did my IVs and blood and urine collection she was very sweet, she knew I was scared and tried her best to ease my mind. My Dr came in explained everything, followed by the anesthesiologist and the assistant to the Dr all very professional, comforting. When I woke up after the procedure, the nurse that assisted me to the bathroom, helped me dress, was comforting me through the whole thing, I wish I could remember her name or even what she looked like but waking up from anesthesia I can't even say, but I do recall her rubbing my back and telling me how to breathe through the pain, she was so comforting and caring. Then there was the nurse who wheeled me out, she helped me get into my car and I tell my husband to get my pillow, she was about to put on my seatbelt and I say wait wait my husbands getting my pillow to which she replied this isn't my first rodeo... well hello lady it was my first rodeo! I felt it was so rude. Call me sensitive or whatever but I received extreme kindness from everyone I interacted with and it ended on that note... all I recall from her was she was brunette... I know they were wanting to go home as I think I was one of the last patients being released. I actually had thought I was going to be transferred over to the hospital for observation at my request but it all happened so fast and I was so dazed that I didn't even ask, my husband also said it was all so fast that he thought I changed my mind... I ended up in the ER the following morning because I couldn't stop vomiting from the anesthesia. I wish I had stayed, and I wish it didn't end on this isn't my first rodeo. When someone is in such a vulnerable state the least you can do is be empathetic.

I received a call she was ready for discharge and was told to wait until I got a text to pull the car around. I sat waiting for 30 minutes just to find out they had been out there for 10 minutes but did not contact me. When I finally got to her, she was in extreme pain and couldn't even speak to tell me if she was okay and I turned the car around immediately to get a nurse less than 2 minutes after driving away because I couldn't believe they released her like this. They told her basically oh well she'll sleep it off and now we are in the er 7 damn hours later because the surgery center refused to help her any further.
