The owner of the shop is amazing! He took my daughter's in the morning after I called him! He juggled everything around to put her in immediately! I so appreciate that because we were in a crunch. it was my grandson's birthday the following day and we desperately needed that car! He came through like a champ. I have been going to Nando for about 20 years. He is the best and so is his son Luigi who is also an excellent mechanic. I take my 3 vehicles as well as my 2 daughters vehicles there. His prices are very reasonable and I am always very happy with the job performed. In addition, I get an espresso made by Alfredo, Nando's father in law, another great employee. My car broke down and was towed to nandos... I called to let them know I had the part that needed to be replaced, and they told me to pay cash. I was quoted $300 when if I took it to Monro, they wanted $250, including parts. I also had the connection to my battery that needed to be fixed. I quickly called and told them that I no longer wanted them to fix it because I could get it done so much cheaper and he was absolutely rude and obviously upset when I canceled. This man took apart my air-conditioning unit when it didn't need to be before even having the go ahead and didn't replace the freon! He also put DRY WALL NAILS to secure my battery connection!!! I had a car seat in the back, and this man took full advantage of a single mom. Now my check engine light is on, and I don't know what more he did to screw with my car. The bad reviews are surprising to me. We started going there after our old trusted mechanic retired. Nando's is more "old school" which is what I like. They're not trying to upsell you or play on emotions. They're not going to be fake nice in order to rope you in for more money. If you don't need something, they're not going to push it and will do a "wait and see" if you don't want to spend the money and it's not a necessary service or repair. I needed a replacement part (due to my own fault - I hit something) and called there. They looked around for the part for me and got it for a relatively cheap price. They are family owned, multigenerational. Sometimes it's not easy to get ahold of them, and there will be no answer when you call. It just depends, but if you call back a little later someone will answer. read more

I am a widow and having any service done on my car made me break out in a cold sweat. NOT ANY MORE, shouting from the roof tops. Nando's service is great. He explains everything and did exactly what was needed. I cant stress this enough if you are tried of being ripped off, or leary of huge chains or the dealers. I am shocked by the bad reviews. My family & I have been taking our cars there for the past 25 years or so. Never had a problem. Anyone on here complaining that he charged you $50 to diagnose the problem even though you didn't wind up getting the car fixed there is just being cheap. Seriously, a dealership won't even look at your car for under $100. That is their time you are paying for. As for the "rudeness," I admit that over the years Nando has become more "brusque." He is extremely busy & overbooked. Why? Because people continue to bring their cars to him WITH GOOD REASON. He used to be a sweetie, but I'm not paying for him to be sweet: I'm paying for him to be honest and for his guys to fix my car, which they do. The reason I go there is because he never tries to upsell me. He is honest and reasonable, and if you tell him you are broke or don't want to spend a fortune, he will create workarounds that are less expensive IF they are safe: mind you, I'm not saying he'll pass a car inspection if your brakes are shot or something. I will continue to take my family's cars there for as long as he is running the place. read more

UPDATE: Nando's Service.....After being Rudely and Insulted for bringing my car back to Nando to tell him that I still have the Same problem. Initially after Nando did work on the car, I brought my car back a few days later and said that the car is Still is making the same noise. He opens the hood and said that the noise is nothing to worry about that it's just the engine starting and once the car is ready it will be fine, nothing to worry about. Now I'm still Not Comfortable with the noise that my car is making. The steering wheel shakes while I am driving, and the noise is getting louder! I go back to Nando Again and I ask if he could just come with me in my in the car for FIVE minutes he will hear that the noise is much louder...... That's when he starts to yell that he doesn't have time for me, and to make an appointment Next Week for him to check out the car. I made an appointment for the following week, but the noise and steering wheel kept getting louder. My brother told me to go to Midas Service, that the mechanics are Very Trustworthy and HONEST. Well I did, and the owner found the problem As Soon as he drove my car around the corner. All in five minutes!! Plus he also found my car leaking oil, and drained the oil, put new oil in with a dye to find the leak. The BIG problem with the Car is the Motor Mount that makes the car shake and the steering wheel shake with the noise. He said that it is about a four hour labor work, plus parts. Now I'm thinking that if Nando charged me $750 for two hours of labor and whatever work he did?? What will be the cost of four hours of labor and parts to repair my car?? I'm thinking that if Nando had four hours, you're talking over $1000 with him! The Midas owner, said that he would fix my car for me, being a 73 year old Widow living on SS for almost half the Price of what I paid Nando for NOT FIXING My Car in the first place! The moral of the story is Go To A Reputable Service Station that has Excellent Reviews and Mechanics Who Know What they are doing. Always, Always READ Reviews first! If I did, I wouldn't have Had to get a loan to pay Nando AND get Insulted. read more

Don't ever go there to get your car fixed. My dad took his car to him for very apparent power steering noises and he didn't fix it. Charged him $200+ for absolutely nothing. He was also very rude and wouldn't give him the keys or let him try the car without paying for it first. He was racist and nasty. Will never go back there again. read more

These guys do great work. My experience has been that they are fair and honest. When I take my vehicles in for inspection sometimes some work may need to be done, but others I am told what is starting to go bad, but not needed to pass inspection. Some time in the future, everything I was told was going to need work did need work. That seems honest and fair to me. If it isn't, I don't know what is. I trust the people at Nando's. read more

Wost shop in Rochester!! Don't waste your time and money. They have no customer service. I brought a new set of rims and tires to get mounted and balanced. I go to pick them up and after paying. I get told hey so you know one of the rims has Scratch or something on it. I'm like what are you talking about I brought them to you in perfect condition. Basically they told me to F myself because the scratch was already there. I tried to prove that it was not like that when I left them. All they kept doing was making excuses on how I probably did it. The absolute worst customer service ever. Was charged 97.00 dollars for them to scratch my rims and than be told take my shit and don't come back. I hope no one ever steps foot in that half ass, overcharging, B.S. shop. read more
