I took them back to the chip shop, and was told that they were yesterday's chips, and had been left all night in the frier. The assistant told me he asked the owner of the shop what to do with them, and was told to fry them for resale the day after. They did reimburse my dad his money, but the owner refused to talk to me, he was at the back of the shop, he blamed his sister instead, who was unfortunately not on the premises. The wok inn does really good business, making good profit. Better profits, should mean better service. The public deserve better service than this. This business prepares and handles food. After today's incident, I am taking my business else where.

The food did not arrive until 3AM and was stone cold, our pizza had a pathetic amount of toppings (one strand of onion here, a little piece of ham there), the other food was dried out and rubbery and we were missing drinks. We spoke to the delivery driver who advised us to phone the store in the morning to request a refund. 40 phone calls later and 5PM the next day we manage to get through to them, only to be told if I haven't got the food still I'm not getting a refund. (Why would I have the food still?) The managers attitude was disgusting and he did not care about our bad experience, quoting "it's not my problem, it is what it is". He refused to give me any further details of someone higher up, he scoffed and told me "ha, can't do that, data protection innit" If you value your money and are looking for something quality to eat, this is not the place! Please bare in mind we were both very drunk after a wedding and we didn't think twice about putting that poison in our body still.

Assured that it was a good one by a passerby I ordered cod and chips and it was served up barely after I had sat down to wait the customary 10 or so minutes. Not a good sign. The chips were ok, although definitely not on the "freshly cooked" side. But the fish was the worst I have eaten in my 49 years. It gives me no pleasure to leave negative views but by the time I realised how bad it was...grey, over cooked and abysmal, the night was too cold and I was too far away to do anything other than munch some chips and dispose of it. All I can hope is I don't get sick tomorrow. If this review ever gets back to them I hope they sort that terrible muck out. I didn't even mention the soggy batter.

(Plus, I don't have to feel too guilty about eating at McDonald's regarding my caloric intakes for the day!) ~ Atmosphere: Not great, but exactly what you'd expect with a lot of the scummy people who smell like tobacco walking about Newport's high street. The customer service wasn't great and I couldn't get a straight answer out of the girl on the phone, however; the food was tasty and cooked to order. My only recommendation is that the manager conducts some mandatory customer service training with his staff.
