From start to finish they have been the best. We had such a great experience, we have switched all of our dogs care to this vet after being unsatisfied with our other vet and receiving exceptional care after our husky's TPLO surgery. Our husky girl is back to her normal self and able to go for walks and runs again! All of the staff are friendly and caring. Our dogs even seem more calm and relaxed here than at the other vet office we used to go to. I recommend all of our friends and family to this vet, and they have also been satisfied. We love you Allegheny Vet Associates!

Just kept saying she's an 18yo cat. Lived lower than most. Then She suddenly was struggling. To eat, drink. Then started pooping outside box, very loose, in our cellar. I was able to keep up with that, but then it started in our upstairs hallway. Near bedrooms. I knew it was time. I decided to get a second opinion. I needed that. Dr was very thorough in his explanation. Told me of the steps we can take, and I should decide if we would continue to the next step. I had blood work and a X-ray. She was not in kidney failure, she was extremely anemic. The x Ray showed her to have a mass in her stomach, a day or so left. I didn't feel that, but didn't want her to be hurting, not have to bring her back in an emergency situation. I have been with many of my pets at the end. Held them in my arms a whispered to them ( although she was deaf ) I didn't feel to have that option here, I should have just taken her. At the end of my time she was wrapped in one of my soft blankets she liked to knead. And given to me. I took her to my friend with a pet crematory. The dr of five would not take my payment at that time. They said they would not even talk at that time. I got a sympathy card signed by the staff a few days later. I had to call about the bill a week or seven days later. I paid over the phone then received a statement in the mail, with my receipt. My bill for office visit, xrays, a ton of bloodwork, and the two or maybe three shots, and the medication was 447. Might be more than some think it should be, but I am perfectly okay with that. He gave me peace of mind and her comfort and compassion. I highly recommend Good Shepherd.

I left that practice and came to see Dr Mark. He was very thorough in providing care education about rabbits and was clearly very knowledgeable about rabbits and took the time to provide detailed information about their care, which I really appreciated. During the exam for the pre neuter exam, Dr Mark immediately noted my rabbit wasn't "fat" but had an abnormal exam and recommended x-rays which showed the rabbit had a serious, life threatening condition. Dr Mark was wonderful through the whole process, explaining my options and the pros and cons of treatment. The condition was too serious and didn't respond to treatment and we had to put bunny down. He and his staff were incredibly sensitive and wonderful with my children who came when we had to put him down. They offered a clay imprint of the paw we made into an ornament (included for free) and asked if the kids wanted some of bunny's fur to take home, which they very much did. Although our pet passed, the entire experience from start to end with the practice was exceptional. . I never had to wait long to schedule an appointment, to be seen by the vet and services were reasonable. The front office staff and techs were also very kind and helpful. It was very reassuring to find such a knowledgable and compassionate veterinary practice that was reasonably priced. I will definitely bring our future pets to this practice.
