Took my dog here for a visit for abnormal blood in her stool and was told that my dog needed an emergency blood transfusion and they sent us to PVSEC (after charging almost $500) after running multiple blood tests that all had different results due to it not being calibrated at all or incorrectly that morning. We go to PVSEC where they counted her blood on a slide manually & thank GOD they said that she was fine and no transfusion was needed & that they must not have calibrated their machines that day so I had to pay another emergency room visit at PVSEC. Good shepherd would not release the records to me to submit to insurance for reimbursement and my insurance policy began a day AFTER this visit so I couldn't get reimbursed for anything, and they refused to give me any money back. After finally receiving the results and looking at the blood work I would love to know who looked at this blood work and who thought it was consistent enough to send to PVSEC for emergency blood transfusion? Do not go here - waste of money. You're better off going straight to an emergency vet! In a life or death situation you may not have the time to waste at another vet with inaccurate testing. Their equipment is faulty and they will charge you for false testing! read more

My vet could not see my dog with a laceration near his eye. They agreed to see him and my dog was not a good patient. The injury worse than I thought or I would never have made the appointment because it ran them over. The staff and doctor were professional. They kept checking on my dog before we left to make sure no issues. The staff at the desk were kind. My dog's eye healed well and returned to normal to my surprise. I don't have anything bad to say about this place. I felt bad to put them through a bigger procedure than I ever imagined it was....they were nice throughout. read more

Started going bc of long waits at my long time honest vet and Good Shepard closer to home. I never felt a warm fuzzy feeling here.. some staff not very friendly and while the Dr was always cheery, he also did more talking than listening. With this, I was almost pushed into medicine that my gut said I didn't need. $350 after an ear infection that probably just needed a deep clean. Just this week, I was emailed a note saying if I canceled an apt wo 5day notice, I would get changed $150 which is unheard of. I just didn't feel 100% here from the start and it felt more like a money grabber MONEYPIT than anything. Just be mindful and aware should you try it here. read more

I would recommend The Good Shepherd Veterinary clinic. Dr Ibrahim shocked me in a good way. "He's funny I wasn't expecting that" He put our dog Miss Emma first over the almighty dollar and did not do or charge us for anything unnecessary. The bill turned out to be about 300.00 less then what they thought it might be. That was a blessing for our family. I have 4 animals I have rescued everything thing helps. Very pleased, even with a not so pleasant result. My 18 year old cat had not been doing well. I had her to one vet that diagnosed her as kidney failure. With out any blood work. Just kept saying she's an 18yo cat. Lived lower than most. Then She suddenly was struggling. To eat, drink. Then started pooping outside box, very loose, in our cellar. I was able to keep up with that, but then it started in our upstairs hallway. Near bedrooms. I knew it was time. I decided to get a second opinion. I needed that. Dr was very thorough in his explanation. Told me of the steps we can take, and I should decide if we would continue to the next step. I had blood work and a X-ray. She was not in kidney failure, she was extremely anemic. The x Ray showed her to have a mass in her stomach, a day or so left. I didn't feel that, but didn't want her to be hurting, not have to bring her back in an emergency situation. I have been with many of my pets at the end. Held them in my arms a whispered to them ( although she was deaf ) I didn't feel to have that option here, I should have just taken her. At the end of my time she was wrapped in one of my soft blankets she liked to knead. And given to me. I took her to my friend with a pet crematory. The dr of five would not take my payment at that time. They said they would not even talk at that time. I got a sympathy card signed by the staff a few days later. I had to call about the bill a week or seven days later. I paid over the phone then received a statement in the mail, with my receipt. My bill for office visit, xrays, a ton of bloodwork, and the two or maybe three shots, and the medication was 447. Might be more than some think it should be, but I am perfectly okay with that. He gave me peace of mind and her comfort and compassion. I highly recommend Good Shepherd. read more

I first met Dr. I when my daughter became a vet tech, and began working at GSVH. Since then, Dr. I has cared for all of our animals ( 3 dogs & 5 cats-not at the same time!) In the past few years, Dr. I has guided me through the last few years of my 13 year old German Shepherd. He helped with pain management as her hips got worse, and nutrition as eating became more difficult. He reminded me of my desire to compassionately keep her comfortable, while at the same time not make her of through inordinate measures to keep her with me. And at the end, he was there to make her passing gentle and kind. I will be forever grateful to Dr. I and the staff. I had to update my review. After my cats's surgery below, he was all good until this weekend. He started acting funny and showing signs of a UTI. I read online that UTIs can get very serious in cats very quickly, but I knew I would spend thousands at the emergency vet that I did not have. I called Dr. I on Sunday and he agreed to meet me. Dr. Ibrahim has been my vet for a while now. He's one of the most caring and compassionate vets out there. He takes the time to explain every situation in terms that any owner can understand and truly realizes how much people care about their pets. The staff are extremely friendly and the office, being a converted house, feels comfortable and welcoming. When I was concerned my dog had mange, he was extremely thorough in his history and examination and my dog was better in a week (it wasn't mange, but some type of fungal skin infection). He took me online, showed me pictures of what to look out for if I was ever concerned again and sent me and my dog on our way after making sure I was completely satisfied. Dr I had been our vet for over 3 years. We came to him by way of a cracked molar on our schnorkie that another vet had quoted $3k for a root canal. Crazy! Dr I fixed him up for less than that and was able to save the tooth. Good thing because it happened a year later to the other molar on the other side. Dr I has been there when we had a sick puppy, wellness check ups, teeth cleanings, etc. He is caring, professional, offers thoughtful advice and is a great vet. I absolutely love Dr. Ibraham, Dr. Miller and staff. Where do I begin? First of all everyone there is so welcoming and knowledgeable, and the hospital is always nice and clean. You are never rushed during your appointment, and they take the time to listen, and also they take time to explain any problem your pet may be having. We were new to the area and were looking for a good vet. I chose this doctor based on several positive online reviews. First impressions were poor. Vet tech seemed to not be knowledgeable AT ALL. Felt like I was talking to someone who was working their first day in the field. Like most of what I was saying to her was foreign. The doctor's approach was very stiff, forceful, "salesy" and abrupt. He spent the first 20 minutes of the appointment reciting what felt to me like a sales pitch. He never took a moment to pet my dog when he entered the room, but rather nudged him to get away as my dog excitedly greeted him at the door. I MAY have returned for the second visit, except while talking to a close friend, she shared with me an experience her best friend had had with this doctor that was VERY alarming to me. I have just recently changed from my previous vet (that without any notice closed down and didn't let any clients know.) I am now a client at good shepherd and I couldn't be happier!!!! I am absolutely amazed at how clean and organized the building itself is. The staff is friendly and knowledgable, and particularly friendly with my dogs, whom love the attention!!!
