The stone she had has to be surgically removed. Make sure you get at least a second opinion. I got two additional opinions, and both vets said the stone would never dissolve with food. I'm hurt and so disappointed that I trusted him. My poor girl has suffered at his hand! Be very careful at his practice! If I could rate him 0 stars I surely would.

We go to PVSEC where they counted her blood on a slide manually & thank GOD they said that she was fine and no transfusion was needed & that they must not have calibrated their machines that day so I had to pay another emergency room visit at PVSEC. Good shepherd would not release the records to me to submit to insurance for reimbursement and my insurance policy began a day AFTER this visit so I couldn't get reimbursed for anything, and they refused to give me any money back. After finally receiving the results and looking at the blood work I would love to know who looked at this blood work and who thought it was consistent enough to send to PVSEC for emergency blood transfusion? Do not go here - waste of money. You're better off going straight to an emergency vet! In a life or death situation you may not have the time to waste at another vet with inaccurate testing. Their equipment is faulty and they will charge you for false testing!

Based only on other reviews and a "gut feeling, I went with PetVet 364 Cranberry and am so happy I did. Everyone I interacted with there was amazing - from the person who answered the phone and made my appointment (Natalie I think), the Vet's assistant/tech (Ashley), to the vet herself - all of them were patient, caring, friendly, understanding, and genuinely listened intently to me as we discussed my cats needs. Also, they have this amazing special "cat room" that was probably even more cat friendly than my home LOL. So rather than going into a sterile exam room with a metal table, I was able to bring my cat into a warm comfortable room equipped with cat toys, cat condos, litter box and treats! That instantly put my cat (AND me) at ease which is critical - esp if you have anxious pets! All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better experience for me and my pets and we plan to stick with this wonderful vet clinic in the future. If I could give 6 star rating, I would

I was able to get same-day appts both times. The receptionists are friendly and welcoming. The Drs and assistants are so warm and kind, it makes the scary experience of needing a vet right away so much more calming. I can tell they care about my dog and me and treated her like their own. The rooms are cozy with couches and a TV and help to destress my dog (and me). The Dr and assistant sat on the floor with me and my dog (so personal and caring) and listened to everything I said so attentively and patiently. They were knowledgeable and thorough. My beagle is 11 and I've had some bad experiences with cold, callous veterinarians in the past, but I'm so thankful I have somewhere I feel I can depend on when I need it. 10/10

He is loving and very friendly but jumpy, STRONG, and just over the top. I admit he was a wild thing. It was hard finding a vet that would deal with him, and I understood why. He was, and sometimes still is, 95 lbs of over enthusiastic spastic. But I love him more than my life. And I have trusted Dr. Stewart with my baby for 7 years and he has taken care of him, through terrible infections that we brought back from swamps near New Orleans, through strong allergies, and different procedures where he was put under anesthesia. They are caring, wonderful, patient, and courageous people. I can't recommend them enough.

The vet handled her ok, but he extended the injured wing out fast and all the way out. It hurt her. He gave me an antibiotic/steroid for inflammation and pain. Birds have very delicate bones. The vet didn't move her wing slowly. I couldn't get the medicine in her mouth either. My budgie looked worse. She was all puffed up, wouldn't play with her toys, and is still afraid of me. She stays away from me touching her. That is a terrified, bird. I was hesitant to call Animal General and discuss this, but I didn't because I was hesitant to. I don't think the veterinarian was familiar with avian needs and care. The five minutes in the vets room, and about a tablespoon of those medicines came to a total of $188! What a rip off for inferior service. That tells me that they don't care about birds, and are in it for the money. Thankfully she looks physically better, but she still won't let me near her and is afraid of strangers. All I wanted was to make her feel better so she wouldn't die.

Our dogs met which initiated a conversation during which she mentioned that she is a vet tech at Banfield. Upon finding out she was a vet tech, I asked her advice for a 1 lb Maltese puppy that is literally close to death because she will not eat despite me trying absolutely everything I could think of. Gabby discussed some possible things to try and did not stop there, she literally walked me over to the Royal Canin section and SHOWED me. She didn't have to do this but she went above and beyond on her own time to help me. When I got home, I got some of the food out anticipating that I was going to have to force feed her with a syringe like I've been doing in order to try and save her life. But to my absolute amazement, this pup started eating this food ALL ON HER OWN! As I type this, I am still in shock that this incredibly difficult case turned in the blink of an eye. I never would have tried this Royal Canin Starter Mousse if it weren't for Gabby. I truly cannot thank her enough. I even googled the number for this Banfield so that I could call and thank her and tell her about this baby's progress. I also bought the extra small Royal Canin dry puppy food and I'm be darned if she didn't eat some of that as well. This is truly a testament to Royal Canin as well. And Gabby, if you read this, THANK YOU for spending a good portion of your lunch time to speak with me and help me. You saved this pup's life. I truly believe that God puts us in the right place when we need it the most and while passing through Cranberry today I met you and you were truly heaven sent. You are definitely an asset to Banfield and if I lived closer, I would bring all of my dogs to this office. Thank you again! Angie Youngstown, Ohio

The Banfield that we had an appointment at had to cancel due to a water main break and we were fortunate enough to take our little stray to the Cranberry Banfield even though they had a full schedule already. They took such great care of her and made us feel so much better about how she was doing (disease free thankfully!) that we immediately decided without second thought to make this Banfield our primary vet even though it is 30+ minutes away. We cannot be thankful enough for the friendliness, care, and understanding.

The X-ray told the whole story about the cat's condition. Dr. Maria Santabene walked me through the prognosis and I made the painful decision to end T.C. Greyson's suffering. The staff was very compassionate and helpful at every step in the process. TC went peacefully and I opted to bring him home to rest near the garden shed in the shade of a tree. VCA provided a very nice bio-degradable bag. Dr. Santabene is not only a rare gem but she is our new vet and our remaining two cats are in good hands.

I would prefer that this animal hospital have more evening and weekend hours, but we did get evening or Friday appointments that worked for us. For both appointments, the front staff quickly checked us in, and we used the separate waiting area for cats. The vet techs started our appointments on time. I appreciated that they had familiarized themselves with my cat's previous medical records. For the first appointment, the veterinarian arrived several minutes late, but she was very knowledgeable and nice (even after my cat when being palpated peed on the table!). She did a physical exam on Nika, and we discussed Nika's history of kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, anemia, and UTIs. The vet said that many kidney-disease cats need longer than 2 weeks of antibiotics, which is true and something that my previous veterinarians never said. She recommended a supplement to prevent UTIs. Later, another veterinarian here promptly ordered a refill for a thyroid medication for Nika. Employees at the front desk promptly rang up the fees for the exam, supplement, blood tests, and fecal test. I thought that the prices were OK. A few days later, Dr. Santabene called me about the test results. We spoke for about 16 minutes, and she communicated very thoroughly and politely. Nika's kidney labs were much worse than before, so we increased her lactated ringers (LR) and added a phosphate binder that was ready for pickup hours later. For my upcoming international vacation, Dr. Santabene was still willing to keep Nika at VCA Wexford's pet hotel where the vet techs would administer 100 mLs of lactated ringers on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and 150 mLs on Mondays and Fridays (because vet techs do not work on weekends). The employees at the pet hotel took a while to tell me accurate prices, but the final estimate was $1,324.30 - $1,374.30 (which included $344 for 10 fluid therapies, $86 for 10 biohazard waste disposals, $244 for 10 technician office visits, and $650-700 for 13-14 nights in a nice-looking feline boarding condo). However, days later Nika began to show serious symptoms, so I had her euthanized by a different veterinarian. Weeks later Dr. Santabene mailed a handwritten sympathy card to me. For my next pet who has a medical diagnosis, I will probably bring her/him here, because I think that Dr. Santabene has knowledge and empathy that many other vets lack.
