"The last time I saw Elvis It was some kind of Vegas dream,…read moreSpotlights flashed on a silver cape And a blue-haired lady screamed, He was the King" (Neil Young) You'll feel like royalty walking around King's, as though every craftsman from near and far brought you their creations for your review. Outdoor furniture, indoor furniture, candles, kitchenware, clothing, crafts, books, toys, and every manor of home décor are everywhere inside and outside the store. What we really liked was being free to stroll through the store and look at kitchen chairs without being swarmed upon by salespeople. We detest the swarm of locusts approach that happens inside some furniture stores as soon as your big toe crosses the threshold. Not here. One very cool thing we saw and came THISCLOSE to buying was a nice kitchen chair that was tagged for $5. The tag also said "Wobbly Chair" and indeed it had some issues with the differing length of one leg, causing it to wobble! Had we identified a need to put a single chair somewhere in our house, that $5 wobbly chair would have lovingly rode the 270 miles back to Connecticut with us.

One of them the original is now closed up. It is just up the street from kings Homestead and sits on a corner property. This was the original wood shop where you could see the Mennonite carpenters. I say this because the saw equipment was electrified. Either way, they used to produce some very beautiful pieces out of that shop. The kings Homestead is very nice, but there is a lot more made from China offerings in home decor than there used to be. Don't get me wrong they do have a very nice selection of Amish made furniture. However, their prices have gone up significantly and they are no longer leaving you with the feeling that you've really gotten quite a piece for the price I mean you are getting solid real wood, but it is at a premium. Not complaining just stating the facts.

I was so happy to find a Spaetzle maker, the slide hopper over the flat grate that makes Spaetzle making a breeze! They have everything, things you never find like clothes pins, wash soap, every conceivable kind of basket just a wonderful place! Locally owned, the women working there are friendly and helpful. My friend wanted a good quality wooden clothes dryer - the ones you fold up when not using. We couldn't figure it out, so one of the gals came downstairs and showed us, and not only that, buggy-lugged the piece upstairs for us! You just can't find that kind of helpfulness these days! A MUST STOP!

Amazing handcrafted furniture that you aren't going to find in a big box store…read more I'm searching for a Amish hex sign for my barn in Long Island. We drive by Peaceful Valley Amish Furniture and see lawn furniture out front, my wife says they should have your hex sign. I walk into, it seems like Amish Oz. Beautiful handcrafted, both indoor and outdoor furniture. We're redoing our kitchen and looked for a kitchen set to replace our 22 year old kitchen table. We've been looking but haven't seen a set we both loved. Well, the search is over. Peaceful Valley Amish Furniture, you want everything in the store! We looked at a few sets that we really liked, when I came across this set I knew our search was complete. We started talking to the folks behind the counter, I tell them we need one more barstool for a total of 7 chairs. I'm told, let me contact the builder and see if he has any more in stock. 10 minutes later, the builder doesn't have any more in stock but will make one more chair, just for you?! I think I love you... How cool is that, this wasn't made on an assembly line but someone from the area made the beautiful table and chairs by hand. Delivery, I'm told them only take cash. They called my cell a few weeks later and came to, I like to see people struggle saying East Setauket NY, haha. Sure enough, they came and put together the table. We love our purchase and cannot thank you again Peaceful Valley Amish Furniture for getting the extra stool for us.

She made me feel u comfortable like she was accusing me of attempting to steal a 10.00 item. My husband was standing there at the register with me after buying another large item! They all seem like we have no business shopping there. I find them rude and will shop elsewhere going forward. The same stuff is just down the road as well. They aren't that special or unique

The Olde Mill House Shoppes is two different buildings - the old stone house and an old barn - that have a wide selection of stuff that women love to shop like rugs, furniture, lighting, home decor, kitchen gadgets, pantry items, women's clothing and accessories. They also have a floral department that I think makes wreaths. My favorite part of the shoppes was the old stone house. Aside from admiring the lovely architecture I enjoyed looked at kitchen gadgets, kitchen decor, pantry items like bread mixes and such. I loved the creek of the floors too. It was a very charming experience. A lot of the furniture was definitely in the Shaker and colonial styles. The lighting section was amazing. Lots of early American inspired design lighting. I wasn't in the market for lighting so I moved on to other things. The rug section was fun to peruse. I saw they sold one of my favorite brands - Dash and Albert. They also had a lot of braided rugs. Regarding the clothing section in the refurbished barn, it wasn't really my style but it seemed like there were some regular customer in there having an absolute ball shopping for some new outfits. It kind of reminded me of the fun, comfy and colorful styles you might find at Chico's. Aside from the above, there was plenty more to look at like some linens, wall art, candles, etc. Overall, this was a fun place to explore and a great place to stop in while in Lancaster County.
