They waited until the end of my next visit to ask me to pay, which made the experience feel unexpectedly transactional. I wish they had discussed it with me at check-in so I could have addressed it before receiving treatment. I accept that I missed the appointment, but the size of the fee, the timing of the conversation, and sometimes feeling rushed left me feeling less like a valued patient and more like a source of revenue.
