I have been a patient at this dental practice for 5 years. In the beginning, they were great, but over time, it has become abundantly clear that they are more interested in milking their customers than providing honest care. My trust first started to erode when they pushed me to get an expensive, custom night guard. I later found out from a different specialist that I don't even grind my teeth at night. The final straw came with my recent bill. The actual amount due was 3x the estimated cost they originally provided. They don't bother to check what insurance actually covers before giving out estimates. They filled the exact same tooth at a frequency that insurance completely refuses to cover because it was unnecessary or done poorly the first time. Yet they did not attempt to try to argue with the insurance company about the necessity of the treatment. There is absolutely no warranty or accountability for the dentist's skill, or the customer service here. When they make a massive financial mistake, they offer zero discounts or apologies to make it right. Be prepared to pay the full, bloated bill out of pocket and eventually move on with anger. Save yourself the financial headache and find a dentist who values honesty over profit. read more

Was looking for a new dentist, since wasn't completely happy with my last. Close to home, and well rated, plus took my double-coverage of Delta Dental insurance. They were able to do my x-rays and cleaning right away, even though the full exam won't be for a few months. Awful dental office with mostly incompetent staff. - They couldn't get a hold of Aetna supposedly after days trting to so they pulled me mid treatment to wait for an hour as they try to call. I ended up just calling them and getting ahold in 20 seconds. - They had to try 4 times to create a retainer that even fit at all, each time having to move my schedule around to make it work. - They are extremely disorganized, use mostly paper, and expect to wait quite a bit before being seen. - Their head administrator is one of the rudest people I've met and who should not have any role interacting with customers. There's a TL;DR for those who don't have a lot of time. I was looking for a dentist after coming from an orthodontist office about the removal of my permanent retainer because I had a concern about plaque building up from where the bar was plus other things about my teeth. So I chose this orthodontist (had a Harvard degree) (silly me trying to be fancy schmancy) and he tried to charge me an arm and a leg! This was their quote : Removal of glue (even though the bar is already off. I yanked it) : $500. Retainers (invisilign) : 4 top and bottom retainers for $1400. While I understand why their prices are high, it's an orthodontist office (and maybe he had a harvard degree) But every human being knows when they can get a better price for the same work if not better! You best bet I ran out of that office! I can smell money dump from a mile away! Also for unnecessary things too. As I moved to a new city, I had to also look for a new dentist. So I stumbled upon Penninsula Infinite Smiles and I have been pleasantly surprised. She asked me if I had any concerns about my teeth today (which is actually the first time a dentist has actually asked me that. They tend to see that it's a deep cleaning and go into it directly without asking me if there's anything else with my teeth). One thing I look for in a dentist is how soft they are when they clean my teeth. I've never had such a gentler dentist in my life. She cleaned my teeth really well and she was so gentle I fell asleep! I can definitely say if someone is as gentle with my mouth, teeth, and can make me fall asleep at the dentist? TAKE MY MONEY PLEASE! I also told her my problems with the orthodontist and she understood. Her quote : Glue removal 50. Retainers 300-400. End of the day I'm glad I ran into her office. Her staff is great and you can tell the office has a good work dynamic. For those TL;DR 1. Going to this dentist saved me 1500-1600 dollars (as I have no dental insurance) 2. My fear of the dentist has been extremely strong for the past four years. But as it should be seen, I started having extreme tooth pain. I called and made an appointment for three weeks out. But the pain was becoming unbearable and I sent an email just asking if there were any cancellations. I receive a text bright and early at six and was able to be seen! They were so helpful from beginning when I walked in to X-rays to my referral to a specialist! I've found my dentist and some amazing staff!!! So thankful for Dr Escarpe and team! read more

We've been here over the past couple years for checkups and minor work, and we find it to be great. Dr Escarpe and the staff are gentle (huge plus!) and friendly. Importantly they are not pushy/salesy and are straightforward in their advice--great customer service! Their location is also super convenient (off of 101), and the office is state-of-the-art (with Netflix on an individual screen while they work on you). Appointments are always on time, plenty of parking and all treatment is explain before it happens. There are no surprises. If you are nervous, anxious or have children that are nervous and anxious about visiting the dentist, this is the place for you. She is very gentle and explains everything as it is happening. She has tv's available with headphones playing while you are getting services done. We have never had a bad experience. We love Peninsula Infinite Smiles, and now even more so during the pandemic! PIS takes all the safety protocols very seriously and so my two young daughters and I felt completely safe while taking care of our dental needs there. (Yes, all three of us had our appointments scheduled conveniently at the same time!) They have everything disinfected, each dentist/DA wears two masks and a face shield each, there is an additional plastic shield between the patient and the dentist/DA, and the air is surgically purified. We are aware that not all dental practices are so thorough with their precautions. When it was discovered that my 7yo had her first cavity, Dr. Escarpe was very sensitive in the way she notified me about it first, checked if I wanted her to share the news with my daughter, and then conveyed the information in a very reassuring and non-blaming manner to her. My daughter thus took the news very well. We could not dream of a better family dentist to take care of us for life! read more

I cannot recommend Peninsula Infinite Smiles highly enough, and want to take a moment to speak to the fellow fearful patients in the yelpiverse. I was personally so fearful that I had to turn the responsibility for researching and making a (long overdue) appointment to my guy. He found Dr. Escarpe. The doctor and her staff are gentle, understanding, patient and skillful. While my husband and I are considering moving to the east bay, I will be making regular return trips to the peninsula just for cleanings and any follow-up treatments needed. When you find a dentist who makes you feel this comfortable (even with --gulp!-- the dreaded needle), you make the drive. Believe the hype you guys. This place is fantastic! Brand new, everything is super clean and spotless. Staff is really friendly and helpful from the moment you walk in. It`s like having your dentist in your own house, because they actually lock the door once you are in, so they give you 100% attention. Dr Escape is amazing. Friendly and really professional. Before she start fixing my teeth, she actually took the photo of each tooth. She explain what is needed to be done and how will she do it. After that, they print everything that is to be done and show you, including the price. So by the time you are done, absolutely no surprises! Due to the retirement of my beloved childhood dentist, I've been looking for a new one for a while. After a couple of bad experiences elsewhere I had delayed a bit too long between visits, so only a minor toothache prompted me to renew my search. I stumbled upon Peninsula Infinite Smiles via a simple yelp search in my neighborhood. I should've looked sooner, because they are awesome. The office is right on Ralston, easy to get to but also kind of easy to miss tucked in amongst the offices there near Starbucks and the sushi place. Once inside, everything is so clean and welcoming, Dr. Escarpe's assistant is incredibly nice, they are really good at explaining what they are doing, the treatment plan for any issues they find and are completely transparent in their pricing - no surprises! I super appreciate that. In terms of the dental work itself, they have a tv hooked up to Netflix so that you can pick your own distraction while they work, that's a nice touch, especially if you have to have a filling or something that's going to take a while. Dr. Escarpe is super gentle and frequently checks to make sure you are as comfortable as possible. She's also pretty quick and efficient so you don't feel like you're just languishing there in the chair for ages. Looks like I finally found my new dentist! read more

I hate walking into a dentist's office because I feel that they are pushy, often look for problems and generally charge your insurance for 20 x-rays that weren't needed in the first place. Not the case with Dr. Escarpe. I felt she was super competent and professional, trustworthy and caring, not pushy in any way, provides you with options and upfront costs (which is so rare and so amazing), easy going and down-to-earth, fair, doesn't try too hard, no frills, and really good at her job! I've been coming here for about almost 2 years and I love it! The doctor is very gentle and regularly checking up on how I am feeling while doing any procedures making sure I'm not feeling any pain. I was recommended by a friend to get a few cavities taken care of now I just go for cleaning since thanks the doctor I am cavity free! This is by far the best treatment I have ever received from a dentist. Some bad experiences with other dentists made me jaded about getting some much needed work done. But Peninsula Infinite Smiles and Dr. Escarpe have taken amazing care of me and I have lost the fear I had of going to the dentist.
