Another more recently chose Advocates for their care: intake was done on one of their 'open access' days. Took a month or so to identify a therapist. Took several months for their first appointment with the psychiatrist. A wait to see a prescriber is NORMAL now, everywhere. There is a shortage of mental health prescribers, so a few months is pretty typical. I don't know all the ins and outs of the office, I do know these people have felt supported by the folks at Advocates.

Especially if you are stuck in a rut or feeling depressed, fatigued and desperate need of a jump start and guidance. I see Molly Ryan at the Richer Life Journey Center. I have a chronic illness, had been very fatigued and feeling really lost and depressed. Main stream medical has failed me so I wanted to try some less conventional types of treatments to see if I could at least get my energy up and centered. I didn't know to much about reiki other than it cleans up your energy and centers it. First off Molly is an amazing and gifted woman. She is compassionate and truly wants to help people. I go in there a mess and a scatter brain and leave feeling special, grounded and truly loved by her. I feel like I am important and I do count. That is a gift within itself . Not only is Molly a reiki master, but she is also a medium and intuitive healer. I had no clue what I was in for. I feel she is one of those gifted people you see on TV or read about. I have been getting the color and sound reiki sessions. It's over an hour long and in just a few minutes I am deeply relaxed. Buckets of stress wash away. Durring the sessions there are sounds and smells. I can physically feel a shift durring this time as spirit works through her. The more times I went the more I could "feel" durring the sessions. It was quite exciting and even more so when we discussed it together latter and found we shared similar experiences durring our time together. Equally important and impressive is the period after the session where she discusses with you what information she received from you and spirit. Yes she is very gifted and can tap into all of that. I actually tag on an extra half an hour of counseling also. I believe she may be a certified Councelor or has some sort of degree also. But durring the time after the session she explains what she saw as she worked with each individual chakra and if need be, things to be worked on and or adjusted in your life. This part of the session was mind blowing. She knew things about me that she could not have possibly known. Some of the things I did not even know or recognize at the time! For instance my inner voice is very negative twords myself and that certain things in my past regarding my family were still impacting me in a negative way. She not only points these things out to you but she also directs you to the begining point on working on them in a positive constructive way. I have to say that working with Molly helped me open up my eyes to a whole new world and with her help and loving direction she guided me to a point where I was able to work on myself and was able to achieve a level of inner happiness, peace and ballance. I looked at things differently and approached obstacles in a different manner. After just a few sessions I felt more grounded than I had in years. I understand myself more, have a plan and I feel a lot better and have more energy. Molly made me feel special and loved. She is a beautiful compassionate and gifted woman. Positive energy just radiates from her and through her tallent. She truly cares about you as an individual and has a calling to help people. With her gift and her big heart that is exactly what she does. I highly recommend Molly if you are looking to try reiki I can't recommend her enough and highly recommend doing the extra counceling session at the end to go over the session thoroughly and to gain her experienced insight and guidance. Meeting and working with Molly has been a life altering experience for me and I feel a closeness to her and consider her my mentor, my shaman and my friend. Consistently late. Like 30 to 45 minutes late for my appointment. No apologies. She will argue…read moreand become belligerent if confronted. She'd charge random fees and different co-pays to my HSA card and did not provide an itemized invoice. My HMA shut me down as a result and I forfeited the balance in my account. It was worth it to not deal with her. She tried to change my medication every time I saw her. I know what works for me. She wouldn't listen. She insisted on a regimen of fish oil and magnesium (quack quack). Unfortunately she was the only prescriber in the area that my insurance would cover. My previous psychiatrist and I worked on my meds for years. She thought she knew better. Also, she's not a psychiatrist. She's a psychiatric nurse practitioner. There is a big difference. She'd try therapy and I told her I only wanted a prescriber. I was not comfortable with her. She did not create an atmosphere of trust. That annoyed her and she'd let me know in a very vocal way.

I also submitted an online request for appointment, Nothing. The one time Jess (receptionist) answered the phone, she was extremely rude and unreceptive. The therapists at this facility "MAY" be good but if the process to get to them is so frustrating and hassled then who knows. You would think a counseling place will be more compassionate and empathetic! Big let down!
