Both of them were very polite.They got my information right away and let me know that the doctor should be right with me. My appointment time was 4:00p.m., and I did get there right at 4:00. However, I still didn't wait very long and I was called back within 10 minutes. They took an x-ray of my tooth and within 5 minutes Dr. Geballa came in. He was very polite and helpful and let me know that even thought I didn't feel any pain, it is still recommended that I get the re-treatment done. Once the appointment was finished I met with Candy and she went over the pricing with my insurance and let me know what the insurance covers. She did state that I will have to pay when I book the appointment, which is fine because most offices require this, especially for a procedure. Overall, I had a great first experience and I was very pleased.

Before he could schedule the procedure, Shannon at the front desk stated she needed to contact our insurance company for a treatment plan. After waiting over a month with no update, my husband contacted our insurance provider directly and learned they had already sent the necessary documentation to your office. My husband then emailed a copy of the treatment plan directly to Shannon. At that point, Shannon informed us that payment was required upfront in full before the appointment could be scheduled, which we paid. However, when my husband arrived for the procedure, the doctor determined the tooth actually needed to be extracted, and no treatment was performed. Shannon assured my husband that our credit card would be refunded. Despite multiple follow-up calls over the past several weeks, we have still not received the refund. Furthermore, our insurance company has contacted your office directly to confirm that their payment to you was sent and OUR out-of-pocket responsibility is $0. We requested several times that our full payment be refunded back to our credit card and to date we have NOT received it.

Moments after completing it, I was called to the back where they took x-rays and then got me settled in a room. Dr. Martin is the primary dentist and he's got decades of experience - practiced in D.C. for about 15 years before he opened his current practice and location 8 years ago. I found him to be professional but also friendly and personable. The office staff are polite and efficient as they explained to me how the appointments are held and what I owed after insurance coverage. All in all, it was a pleasant experience; I was out of there 1 hour and 15 minutes after I walked in, got x-rays and a cleaning - now that's what I'm looking for, fast and professional. One of my pet peeves is having an appointment somewhere, showing up and having to wait extra time before I get in the back, then waiting more time to be seen. I'll be back.

I find many dental offices get a bit cagey when you ask what the cost is, but, if you're paying out of pocket that's obviously helpful to know! To the point that I put things off way too long because I would rather almost do anything than go to the dentist. I mean almost anything. Unfortunately, I had a terrible toothache and was forced to reach out for help. Chesapeake Smiles had good reviews, was close to my home and the photos looked great. I was able to be seen as an emergency patient the morning after I reached out. 24 hours after I was in the chair getting things fixed. I had a root canal and also temporary crown made. Pricing was very reasonable and the best part was that they were all very empathetic and respectful and patient with me! As someone who is frightened, Dr. Masood, the two different dental hygienists and the front desk staff were so understanding, kind and prompt.
