I was very thorough in my research and very picky, as I wanted someone who I could trust and connect with. I stumbled upon Wendy's website and she seemed very personable in her videos, and I enjoyed looking through all her articles. I could definitely relate to what she had to say, plus I liked her more alternative/holistic approach. I started seeing Wendy in December of 2015 with a list of issues, the biggest ones being my relationship, career, and family. I signed up for 8 sessions and was expecting to talk a lot about my childhood, how I was raised, etc. But I soon realized that Wendy doesn't focus a lot on the past and instead focuses more on current relationships and issues, which is great because I was able to see results quickly! Plus, with my new perspective and understanding, I became less affected by my past traumas. Before Wendy, I was constantly questioning my relationship and was thinking of breaking up. But after my sessions with her, my relationship has transformed into something that I did not think was possible! It is now so easy, comfortable, and harmonious. Plus, my partner and I are getting married next month, which is a big deal for me, as I used to not believe in marriage! Wendy is very in tune with relationship dynamics and how men and women think/act differently. Learning these differences about my partner positively changed the way I interacted with them. She gave me the courage to speak up in my relationship, in a very effective and respectful way. She also gave me practical exercises, worksheets, and a personal hypnosis recording to use when problems arise. I love whipping out my pen and paper to go through her simple, but effective exercises. She has given me the knowledge and confidence to go through life knowing that there is no issue that I cannot work through! And if I cannot figure something out on my own, I can always come by for another helpful session. She is very responsive to my emails and is very accommodating with my schedule. Two women were talking about a hypnotherapist that they loved, I overheard, asked them who it was and the rest is history. I started seeing Erika because I had been in a car accident in Seattle and was so anxious about driving in the rain, it was debilitating. My regular talk therapy at the time was not enough. Our sessions were in person and hypnotherapy and reiki in person at the beginning. I was able to work through my fears of driving in the rain in these sessions. My sessions with Erika have morphed into phone sessions of energy healing and life coach more than anything else. I saw Connie for the first time last Spring about some anxieties I was having about a relationship and in just one 2 hour session it was gone. Gone gone. Gone in such a way, it seemed silly and inconceivable that I ever got anxious about the relationship at all. Which then gave me the capacity to fully enjoy every moment and my relationship has flourished ever since. A few months after that - I decided I wanted to tackle another "issue" - and her work with that was again so magical and instant that I've been seeing her once a month to "tick off", one by one, any other obstacles that had been in the way of my goals. One of my favorites was in September - I saw her b/c my frustration with a co-worker had reached a breaking point, and I couldn't even stand to be in a meeting with him b/c my blood would boil out of frustration and annoyance and it was starting to affect my own performance. For privacy reasons, I won't mention the reasons for my seeing her, but I will say I had been feeling "stuck" in my life and other methods of therapy weren't working, so I thought "might as well." She is the first and only hypnotherapist that I have seen, and I found her to be very effective in our work together. Her website is helpful in listing some things she treats- from anxiety to anger to hypnobirthing classes. I began by shooting her an email and discussing what I wanted to work on to make sure she was the right fit. I recommend reaching out sooner rather than later, as she fills up quickly. I had about a 4 wk wait to see her for my first time; then she gets you in regularly as needed. The office itself is comfortable and relaxing. There is plenty of street parking right out front. Kira is always prompt and professional, which I greatly appreciate. I would describe her style as warm, friendly, and caring. She has a calming voice, which I assume is pertinent to the profession. She is also direct and helpful, and she offers tools and recordings to utilize outside of session. I have found them to be useful. But again, it will depend on your reasons for seeing her, as I assume these things vary. Most importantly for me, I leave every session feeling like I learned something new about myself. That is a MUST for me in my journey. I found her prices to be competitive with others. The only downside to hypnotherapy is that insurance doesn't cover it. But on the bright side, you only go in for a few sessions so you're spending less in the long run. I think it's worth the investment. No doubt, Kira deserves 5 stars. The idea of trading my life force for survival in a system that didn't feel aligned felt suffocating. I also carried ancestral and personal wounds where money was used for control or harm.
