The lighting makes you look twice.

We have dined here four times and keep coming back when French food gets overwhelming and heavy and we feel like making food light and interesting again. The veggie bento box has never let me down, and local Paris beer is novel. There is one table in the back corner that is next to several boxes of well-loved children's toys, enough to occupy a few of them for the duration of a dinner.

Some highlights: The amuse bouche course was incredible end-to-end, but what really stood out for me was a blue masa shell holding mussel, sauce, and microgreens/herbs/flowers. The mix of the different herbs, the savory salinity of the mussel, and the sauces was wonderfully complex, yet also harmonious. The poached sea trout with pumpkin and horseradish ice cream was very satisfying. The mix of poached trout and horseradish cream was very familiar, yet the twist of making the horseradish a wholly different temperature and texture was really surprising and innovative. The monkfish in adobo was another extraordinary dish. I have only had monkfish liver before, but the way they were able to perfectly cook the monkfish gave it a texture and flavor reminiscent of lobster. With the spice of the adobo, it was a really well balanced dish. Additionally, all of the wines that we tried were also notable and delicious. Frenchie has definitely earned its Michelin star, and I wouldn't be surprised if it has another by the next time I come back.

The three of us were able to get a table around 7 PM (we didn't make a reservation). The ambiance is sophisticated yet laid back, and we were surrounded by a mix of locals and tourists. We decided to each order a glass of sparkling wine and a few small plates to share. The wine list was long while the food menu was quite short, but everything we ordered was delicious. Each dish provided a twist on classic appetizers - the gnocchi was served with an inventive "white cheddar foam," and the maple bacon biscuits struck the perfect balance of sweet and salty. We ended up lingering over our wine and enjoying the cozy ambiance longer than expected - a perfect way to spend a summer evening in Paris.

So went to a pizza place first but they didn't have any tables available for 5 people and the waiter suggested we go to this place instead. Walking in, were greeted by a very cheerful server and explained to her our constrain - we needed something that we could order and get with an hours turnaround time. She was great and said no problem and that if we ordered anything that would take longer, she would let us know. So our party of 5 ordered a variety of dishes - tandoori chicken with rice, risotto with mushroom and side of wok fried vegetables, risotto with chorizo, Asian beef with lemongrass and rice and finally a bruschetta. The total between us came to €82 so not too shabby at all! Food was really delicious - both beef and chicken dishes were fragrant and tender. The risottos were cooked perfectly and the chorizo tasted high quality and spicy. Lots of mushrooms in the mushroom risotto and the side of wok fried vegetables was perfectly seasoned. We enjoyed every morsel and the service was so attentive and good, our bread basket and water was constantly kept replenished. I am normally not that keen about restaurants that have a mix of cuisine like this one had on the menu - i.e. There was Italian (pasta/ risotto), Asian (both Chinese woks and Indian Curry), American Burgers and variety of French salads, but these guys made it work- everything was really good! It's a pity we were rushed and couldn't get dessert - but I would absolutely recommend this restaurant and hope to come back and enjoy another meal here.

This was one of my favorite restaurants that we ate at in Paris. We had just come down the stairs…read morefrom Sacre Coeur and were looking for a place to eat for lunch. I was literally walking around checking out menus posted outside and checking Yelp for positive and negative reviews. We stumbled across La Paname. Yelp told me it was closed, but I am happy to report that it was not. We saw 1 couple dining inside and another walk in as I was looking up reviews and checking out the menu. One of the reasons we decided to stop here was because it had 4 stars on Yelp. Another was because it was at the right place at the right time, but the third reason was for the express menu posted on a sign board outside the restaurant. There were a selection of items available with a dessert for 12.90 Euro. One of the items was a beef bourguinon, a favorite of mine which I had yet to enjoy in my trip to France. So, armed with this information my mother and I decided to try the place out. I'm sad to say there is not outside dining here, but the inside is lovely, warm, and cozy. It is quite small, but that adds to the charm. Our waiter was helpful, attentive, and spoke beautiful English which was very helpful since our French leaves something to be desired. We both decided on the beef bourguinon though they had some other attractive options including burgers, chicken, and a citrus fish. It was a cold day and warm beef with potatoes and gravy just hit the spot. This was probably the best beef bourguinon I ever had in my life. The gravy was so good I was literally lopping it up with the bread. We both ordered a kir here too and it was excellent with just the right level of sweet. One of the best kirs I had the whole trip and I had many. For dessert my mom had the pear tart and she loved it. I had a chocolate crepe which was light, fluffy, and warm. We were seated next to a couple from Chicago who gave us some great tips and with whom we enjoyed some lovely conversation. By the time we left the restaurant is had gotten quite busy. This restaurant is proof that you can never go wrong with good food and good service, and that neither of those things has to break the bank. I would totally come back here the next time I was in the area.

Encore - Nice! Lovely food and wine!

We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday. I enjoyed a chicken pate with apricots for an appetizer and a steak for dinner. I had cheese for dessert. All excellent. Definitely a lovely restaurant for a special occasion or night out.

When I looked back the waiter was smiling and laughed in a friendly manner and then said of course. This set the tone for the entire experience. The decor was simple and comforting the booth we sat at was worn and had tears but was visibly clean. You really get a comfortable vibe from this place. The menu was in French so the waiter took the time to try and explain everything. To us and I was very grateful for that. We started with smoked duck that was incredible. My wife is not a fan of duck at all but she ate almost the entire app without me. Next I had the salmon and my wife had a zucchini dish. Both were excellent but hers most of all was unexpectedly superb. Next my wife had a beef salad dish that was the perfect balance of the beef and the greens. I myself thought I ordered pork but mistakenly pointed at the fish with quinoa. By this part of the meal I knew that either way it would be great and I was right. It Also went very well as an entire meal since I had salmon the dish before. Needless to say all the plates were spotless. Finally dessert came. Cheesecake with strawberries and lime zest on top. It was rich, creamy and all together very well done. An unforgettable experience

I never got that. The most accurate description of consummate success is not resting on the laurels showered upon you. Yearning for growth and development, once your skills have been acknowledged, is very difficult. Yet, Chef Indra has traveled the world during his success, learning culinary techniques in South America, Asia, and beyond. This last visit to La Condesa in Spring of 2022 was amazing, our meal in two or three star status, if that's an apropos measure of cooking talent. Showmanship is useless if the food doesn't resonate with taste sensations that are mind boggling, but La Condesa now creates a dining experience on par with our meals at Arzak in Bilbao, and AM in Marseille, two of our most transcendent meals. To describe each dish would be unfair to enjoying La Condesa. While there are shrines to cooking majesty in Paris people flock to, a culinary visit is incomplete without dining at La Condesa.

I went there for a brunch with my sister on a Sunday morning. The place itself is awesome: I love the deco like you're at your grandma's place with funny and old style tea service. Notthing to complain about the service: the staff is smiling, careful and due to a good organization, we didn't wait at all. The brunch formula is affordable for the quantity served: a basket of pastries with a hot drink and a juice, then some eggs, then a slice of quiche or risotto served with a small salad and to finish a delicious dessert ! The quality was good except for the eggs which weren't cooked enough in my opinion. We ordered two different quiches: the leek and the zucchini ones. They were delicious! As a dessert I ordered the perfect cheesecake and my sister had some chocolate dessert. It's a very nice and warm place for a simple brunch. However, the reservation is mandatory because, the place is pretty small and really popular
