The only slight complaints I have (and thus no 5 stars) are: no wifi available (this could really be a hang out spot for students/hipsters parking off whilst drinking and eating) and the quality of the cakes. I must say though that they were really good, large in portion and excellently decorated and served, I just wasn't blown away by them. Ice cream is one of my many favorite types of desserts, and since County Kerry's cows are known for producing extra rich and creamy milk, I was really excited to get extremely creamed. The shop was very bright with a simple and natural design. They had some unique flavors like Honeycomb Caramel, Dingle Sea Salt, and Irish Brown Bread. The scoopers who helped me were very friendly and let me try as many flavors as I wanted. I finally decided on getting a small size of the Dingle Sea Salt and Kieran's Cookies in a cup. The ice cream was sweet and delicate, the Dingle Sea Salt had a very light salted vanilla flavor and Kieran's Cookies were like an Irish cookies n' creme. Because of all the hype on the creamiest milk being produced from around the county, I was getting ready for a creamsplosion up my yapper, but after my first lapping, I didn't think that that my scoops were as rich and creamy as other frozen novelties I've had the pleasure of savoring. But because their ice cream is said to be very natural, using only fresh ingredients from around Ireland, it might just be that my taste buds are already accustomed to over-processed artificial ingredients!

Given the day and time, they were not busy, so we were sat very quickly. The restaurant is one large space, but divided into two distinct areas. The breakfast/cafe and then the bar/restaurant. Same spot, different vibes. We sat at a table in the cafe area which features a few standard tables, a lounge seating area and a coffee/pastry bar. We ordered a combination of breakfast items from scrambled eggs to sausage rolls and an iced mocha. The eggs were good, very soft and fluffy, but a bit under seasoned, but that honestly was a trend in Ireland. The sausage roll was the best part for me! It was flavored and the house made remoulade/salsa was great! The iced mocha was a bit odd with the heavy dusting of chocolate powder on top, which made it a bit cakey when mixed in. It was tasty, but not what I expected. Service was stellar from entry to exit. The hostess was also our server and she was fantastic! The space was well kept and very clean. Overall, this was a great parting meal for us as we left Killarney!

They have a full restaurant as can be seen in the photo I submitted of the outside, but once you enter you realize they are also a full bakery and have a great assortment of all kinds of scones and baked goods as well as many breakfast and lunch items. I ended up getting a cappuccino and slice of a quiche and both were excellent. My wife ended up getting a scone which was also terrific and a latte. We also had an 18 month old with us and we were surprised that they catered well to children and had baby chairs as well. This is a place where it is welcoming and once you sit down, it is hard to leave. Service was friendly and quick and if we were staying in Killarney longer, there would have definitely been a repeat visit to this place. As a starter, I had the Bluefin tuna tartare atop thin slices of pear with trails of a tart sauce that was a surprising flavor combination. The main course was a magret of duck with mashed potatoes and what appeared to be a phyllo pastry cup al dente vegetables. There was a small glass jar containing strained duck drippings and a bulbed pipette for putting the "jus" right where you want to. My dining partner had a starter featuring a sausage made from suckling pig with sautéed mushrooms and green tomatoes. His starter was followed by a rolled saddle of lamb and aubergine. There was no room for dessert. All-in-all, it was an extraordinary meal. Make the effort to find this place. It was a total surprise well-worth the expense.
