I've actually only had the cinnamon buns and a custard doughnut (ahem, *so far*) from Nans Bakehouse but the cinnamon bun was one of the best things I've ever eaten, to the point that I had to tell everyone I saw for the rest of the day and then go get 2 more to take to my mums the next day. I want to clarify that these are not the thing we know in 'stralia as the "cinnamon scroll". This is I think what both the Swedish and the US mean when they talk about "cinnamon buns" (you know those ones that we see on their food vlogs but don't want to make a tray of because we will eat them all). On top of that, the thing that makes or breaks a cafe, EXCELLENT coffee, and the added bonus of a barista who actually seemed like he wanted to be there and who I found a kindred spirit in to lament the travesty that is the lack of fresh hot cinnamon doughnuts across Melbourne. They also have a variety of roast whatever rolls each day, which I haven't tried yet, because they usually sell out before I get there so if you want that I'd suggest going early. This is a smallish but cute cafe and it seemed to have plenty of tables when we were there but that was about 1.40 so it might be harder to get one earlier in the day or the lunch rush. read more
