The food is good but definitely not worth the price. We wanted to eat at a different restaurant but it was closed and so while looking for our parked car we found this restaurant and to our luck it was open. We quickly got ourselves seated and ordered veg thali for each of us as we thought it would be a complete meal. Since we were travelers to the city and super hungry we were hoping to enjoy the meal. Although it didn't take oddly long time for them to bring the food, the food portions were too small for its price and we left unsatisfied. The ambience was nice as we opted for garden seating. We heard this place used to be good, but that was not our experience. We ordered the prawn masala and the chicken curry. Both dishes looked good, but were thin and had no depth of flavor. Bland would be the only way to describe it. We also found it annoying that they charge 2.8 euro for a small amount of rice. Service was mildly efficient but cold. Decor is clean & modern. read more

I went here for a Friday night curry with some friends and we had an enjoyable evening meal in the restaurant which was fairly full (we'd reserved a table for four - which would be recommended on Fridays around 7:30pm). We had starters with beers (Murauer is the only beer available in 0.5l sizes on tap) which were generously sized - Pakora and Paneer and some popadoms with a good range of sauces - from mild mango to a quite spicy chilli-based sauce. For mains we went for a mixture of thalis - which were tasty although more mild than spicy, but we'd not specifically asked for something fierier - although there were more spicy items available, which I have had and enjoyed on other occasions. I went there a couple times but recently the last time. I got Chicken Malai - chicken with spicy and hot coconut chili sauce after 45 minutes waiting. It was almost cold, bland and not spicy at all. My girlfriends Chicken Tikka Masala came with a flavorless tomato sauce. Nam Nam started with great food but their kitchen sucks now. Service isn't good anymore either. read more

I have been looking for an authentic Indian restaurant in Vienna for ages. While Nam Nam isn't traditional Indian (they put their own spin on their dishes) it is extremely tasty. After mistakenly taking a bite with some extremely spicy sauce, our waitress brought me a glass of milk. They really take care of you and the food is awesome. I have never had such bland Indian food in my life. The atmosphere is cozy and the service is friendly, but the food is disappointing. I went on a friday night and had a dish with three meat specialties, served with rice and naan (€16). The presentation and the ingredients were good, but each preparation was astonishingly void of flavour. To be clear, I dont like dishes so spicy that you can taste no other flavour and mild dishes with subtle flavour can be exquisite - nam nam offers neither. read more

I visited this great little place last night with two others.we were impressed with the variety of vegetarian options available,and there were some interesting options on the Weekly Specials card too. We started with free poppadoms,which were not the usual bland ones offered in other places,rather spiced with caraway and black pepper,with four dips to choose from...the spicy one had a real zing!high from that spice enduced lightheadedness , we gulped down a couple of Murauer beers- mmm Styrian beer-and ordered our mains. Between us,we had a chickpea curry-mild although it had a 2 chilli symbol on the menu, a ginger chicken dish-which was actually a tikka masala,bit deceptive from the description,and a lamb dish. We were all satisifed with our dishes though the spice factor could be upped a notch.the biggest hit though was the naan bread basket, the peshwari naan was sublimely good, a perfect mix of nuts and raisins,and the other naans offered were almost as good.the damage for all this was approx 20 euro each for a drink,main course and accompaniment--unlike the Indian restaurants in other places, the price quoted for main dish does NOT include rice or other side orders.it's not super cheap,but for a classy casual spot with a laid back vibe and comfortable portion sizes, it is worth a visit! read more
