I had an awful experience getting my nails done tonight. The woman who did my nails said, "you are the woman with the allergies!" To which, I replied, "no." She then tells me it must be because my nose (which is covered by a mask!) is red. This is the same woman, who last time when she did my nails asked if I was pregnant. I was 4 months postpartum. To comment on my appearance IN ANY WAY is unprofessional and insulting. When she asked if I wanted to add my tip to the credit charge I said sure. She then asked how much. I said $6. So my 6 year old is really getting into playing "spa" at home and rather than doing that for the 252662552 time I brought her to the closest nail salon to us instead so we (cough *I*cough) could actually relax. I don't get pedicures too often, but I must say that this was the most thorough salon I have ever been to. Anna was amazing. Honestly, no one has ever spent that much time and dedication on my feet. The negative reviews amazed me. I can't believe anyone wouldn't love Nails Today! They are absolutely friendly. I never feel unwelcome or uncomfortable. My one and a half year old broke a bottle of polish one time. I felt so horrible but with a smile on their faces they kept telling me not to worry and refused to take my money to replace it. Aside from service it's the results that keep me coming back. My nails are always exactly how I wanted one. I've never had such success asking for "random designs" on some of my nails. Always perfect and unique. And lastly, price. I've never felt that I've been cheated of my money going here. They don't worry about quantity. I have been coming to Nails Today on and off for 14 years (since Vivian opened the original shop). After ownership changed, I continued to come as this is the only nail salon in Itasca and the prices were fairly cheap, but the service has always been terrible. I started going to Nice Nails in Addison. Their prices were higher, but the quality of pedicure/manicure was so much better than anything I had ever gotten at Nails Today... Until I started seeing Jeremy! He has been the ONE saving grace for this salon. He gives outstanding pedicures and ensures the shape/color/etc. of my no-chip is always up to my standards. I have been seeing him regularly and if he isn't available when I call, I wait until he is, because none of the other women put forth any effort and I don't want to waste $$ on a crappy job. I am there every two weeks, I pay in cash, and I tip Jeremy well because I love the work he does. But right now he is on vacation and I thought I would give another person a chance to redeem themselves. Grace was my nail tech. I was in the pedicure seat for a total of 15 minutes (I was up before the massage on the chair had even completed, which goes to show how rushed everything was). She didn't massage my legs at all - she just rubbed lotion on them and then wiped it off with the hot towel. I then proceeded with a no-chip manicure that was equally rushed. When doing the top coat, Grace literally didn't even make contact with 3 of my nails? I totally understand when it's crazy busy the nail techs feel like they must rush, BUT I WAS THE ONLY CUSTOMER THERE. There was no reason to rush. I know they recognize me as a regular. I've been going there for years and have spent thousands of dollars there, but apparently that isn't enough of a reason to offer great service. After all was said and done and I went to pay, I handed Grace a $5.00 bill as her tip. I was disappointed with the service and didn't think she deserved more. She then said "that's it?!" and took the money and walked off. This is the second time Grace has given me a crappy mani/pedi and I've tipped poorly as a result - so perhaps she thinks I'm just stingy, but Jeremy can vouch for me! If you do a good job = you get a good tip! Because of Grace, I am not going back to Nails Today. It makes me SO sad that I have to find a new salon because Jeremy is the greatest! If you've read this much, do yourself a favor and ask for Jeremy up front and tip him well because he always does a fabulous job! read more

Reasonable prices and professional staff. Just don't go there on a Saturday unless you have an appointment or don't mind waiting if you're a walk-in. That just shows how popular they are! Nails Today is a great "mini salon"--manicures, pedicures, waxes. I knew the owner when she worked for another salon and then when she opened this place I followed her there for my mani's and pedi's. Some might say that knowing the owner might make a difference in the review, but every customer gets a chance to get to know the owner. That's how friendly she is. What I love is that the staff is so friendly and not pushy to get more and more services that one might not need. The salon is open and clean and the staff does a good job keeping everything tidy and tools sanitized. I only get regular mani's and pedi's there so I can't speak about the gel or acrylic nails. But I see a lot of women get those services there as well. A big plus is that they keep up to date celebrity mags around. So if you're like me and like to read them but don't like to buy them, this is a good place to catch up on the mag gossip! :) read more

This salon is decent. My nails are good, no doubt. I love to be as generous as possible with ratings, but I took away two stars for the customer service. For one, they charge $3 for a matte top coat. I mean, I didn't make a fuss about it, but it doesn't cost them anymore money to give me a matte top coat instead of glossy, and I know that for a fact, just trying to make a couple bucks. Also, they weren't very welcoming. I came in 40 minutes before close, which I called and made sure that was okay. But they rushed me out, I couldn't even dry my nails and they of course got messed up. I had to go back today and ask them to fix it, and they couldn't even take the nail polish off..they just painted over it. Just seems a little lazy to me, and they obviously don't care if I come back or not. Then, when I asked that I'd rather just have them glossy than matte (which to them is a cheaper option?) they tried to charge me $5 more... like come on. I came here because my regular salon, Miami Nails, was closed. But now I know I'll probably be sticking there, since I'm not charged for bogus fees over there. But, positively, my nails do look good. I searched and searched and little did I realize the best Nail Salon was right around the corner of my home. Everyone there is upbeat and pleasant. You are not made to feel uncomfortable with endless conversations that you don't understand! They have all the new styles and trends and the execution is beautiful. Summer is amazing there has yet to be a picture she can not duplicate. You will not regret stopping in. And my baby girl had her first manicure done yesterday! I went in for a manicure and pedicure on 6/17 and on 6/18 three of my real nails chipped off. The lady who did my manicure used a nail file on the top of my nail, resulting in my nails being super thin. I called to explain this because I paid $60 - I just wanted to at least pass along what happened to avoid it happening again. The lady kept talking over me and telling me it was my fault and this was a polish tool. It's hard when you don't listen to actually understand. Oh well/ I won't be coming back! Not sure why someone from this place messaged me to tell me they don't believe me. What a joke! I spent $120 that day. The tech used a file ON THE TOP of my nail, causing them to be thin which is what happens when you file a nail. Speaking to her over the phone was insanely frustrating because she yelled over me and continued to tell me, "it's your fault" okay!! So don't message me and tell me the same thing. This salon actually sucks. I get my nails done regularly and decided to try out Nails Today since it is near my house. Well, let me tell you that was a mistake. I called ahead a day in advanced to make an appointment for mani pedi at 5 o clock. I got to the salon the next day and they threw my appointment right out the window, there was literally no point of making an appointment because I still had to wait at least 30 minutes for someone to even look at me. After waiting what felt like 10 years, the lady guided me towards a massage chair for my pedicure. She tells me to "put yo feet in here please," um ok so I dip my toes into the water and I am unpleasantly surprised for my toes to have touched what was volcanic hot water. I told her it was too hot and she did nothing about it, I'm sure she wanted my feet to just fall off. Anyways, it took probably just over an hour for my whole pedicure to be completed. An hour just for my toes and definitely another hour for my nails, which I might add were not no chip.. Do you know what I could have done instead of sitting in that salon for 2 hours??? I could have watched two whole episodes of my favorite tv show. I could have completed a half marathon in 2 hours.. and the list goes on. Also, I might add that the man doing my nails must have been colorblind because my nails and toes do not match in the slightest. So, as you can see I recommend you not to come to this God awful place unless you like receiving a sub-par, mismatching mani-pedi that took an immensely elongated time. Go somewhere else, you have better things to be doing for two hours than come to this shit-hole. read more

Iris is the best and patient with this-they do get pretty busy on the weekends but if your available throughout the day before 3 pm on mondays, tuesdays or wednesday-you have a good shot of getting your nails done on these days as a walk-in! I've been to other nail salons that provide no-chip but they either pile on the polish too much or don't really last!!!! Love this place keep coming to it all the time! read more

Well, I went in on Sunday to get a pedicure, I was turned off by the smell of the nail laquer. No one speaks english except the owner whose name is Vivian. I waited about 30 minutes for a pedicure, which was resonable since I did not have an appointment. I was turned off by how dirty the shop was. That is the problem with most of these nail shops, they are dirty and it is a quick in an out because they are trying to get as many customer in as possible. The shop was busy, but I will never go back. The man who did my pedicure, had a cold. He did not have a mask on and kept wiping his runny nose on his sleeve. He cut my nailbeds and they were bleeding. He used a blue liquid, and then asked me to put my clean feet back in the pedicure bowl that was filled with dirty water from my feet. They have many bottles of bleach spray on by the pedicure tables which is a big turnoff. I saw 3 girls including the owner, that only sprayed on or two sprays to clean the bowl. That is not sanitary... No wonder they have fungus liquid in the for sale case. Then I say razors, in the bowls with the manicure tools. THAT IS AGAINST THE LAW!!! Do not go here.. The place is dirty and nothing is sanatized properly or cleaned. They use the same drill bits on all clients with no cleaning inbetween... UHH. FIRST OFF... Is it possible to give ZERO stars? nevermind I'll give ONE because the children that were running around the shop were cute. HOWEVER, I will most DEFINITELY never return to this salon. This was by far the WORST experience I have ever had getting my nails done. My cousin and I went in for a full set of acrylic nails, specifically white TIPS... and walked out with a bloody finger and HALF of my nail as white tips. LOOKS HORRIBLE. Not only that, my finger nails, beside being nicked to point i needed band aids, HURT SO BAD. I can't pick up a thing...They use WAY too much acrylic and then spend WAY too much time drill filing them down. (same thing with my cousin ) The pressure is unlike anything I've ever felt. The staff are very unfriendly....in the other review on here someone said they don't speak english...well that would explain the extremely awkward silence i sat through for an hour. Not a word was said....oh wait..."acrylic or gel?" and "square?" was said...but that was it. Unfortunately, besides the extremely unprofessional atmosphere, my nails look like SHIT. Air bubbles in every nail, crusty looking dried acrylic at the base of every nail, dried acrylic on my skin of at least 4 fingers....HUGE nic on my ring finger, half my nails are white tips....not just the tips like i asked for. I knew something was off when i pulled in at 5:30 PM, a pretty popular rush time to get your nails done... and NO one... NO ONE, was there. The time I took my mom the owner yelled at the techs working on us the whole time to hurry up. And when they're not busy they make you feel like an ass for not calling ahead. I've been going to this shop for about 3 years now. Even though I only get my nails done about 6 times a year... I love this nail salon! They clean the pedicure bowl after EVERY client. This is a huge plus for me because I've been to a shop before & had huge issues with cleanliness. They pay attention to details & The no chips typically lasts well over 2 weeks for me as well.
